I like to keep the proverbial door open when it comes to certain aspects of my life — making new friends, learning new things, trying new foods, doing new wackadoo things with makeup, befriending new cats…
But I will happily slam that door shut on the fine lines that keep showing up on my lids. 🙂
I realize that aging is one of those freight trains that can’t really be stopped (or bargained with), so I might as well be cool with it (which I am, mostly). In a way, it’s an opportunity of sorts to track down the best, most forgiving eyeshadows for fine lines, and here’s one possible contender: the $24 Naturally Pretty Eyeshadow Trios by It Cosmetics.
Powder eyeshadow trios are nothing new, but these contain skin-friendly ingredients like hydrolyzed collagen, acai, green tea and antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E to hopefully make fine lines and wrinkles a little less noticeable. They’re also talc-free, and talc is one of those eyeshadow ingredients that can make fine lines stand out.
I love how smooth and natural these eyeshadows look on my lids, and they really do seem to keep their distance around my fine lines. They’re also easy to blend and long-lasting (all day for me).
And because they’re moderately pigmented, but not too incredibly pigmented, I don’t have to do a ton of blending with them to define my eyes, which is great. That makes them primo everyday eyeshadows, like the kind of products you can throw into your makeup bag for work, or for the gym if you have plans afterward. Or, pretty much any time you want to look somewhat polished and presentable.
The only big issue I have with them is that they aren’t champions of ze drama, ’cause if you want to go full-on HEY GIRL, HAAAY, you’ll have to work in some more intense eyeshadows from your collection, since these don’t really go beyond medium coverage.
There are six of them available now online and at It Cosmetics counters and Ulta in the It Cosmetics permanent line (some are strictly mattes, some are all about pearl finishes, and others have a combination of pearls and mattes), and all of them have good shades for defining lids and lash lines — like browns, taupes, pinks, beiges and purples.
PRICE: $24 each
AVAILABILITY: Permanent, and available now online and at It Cosmetics counters and Ulta

Wow, they looks so different to me in swatches as they do in the pans. That said, I love the look on your eyes with them.

Color-wise I like the Naturally Pretty Pearl Luxe the most.

Yeah, girl, totes headed to check out the matte trio. The swatches surprised me with how pigmented they are. Fingers crossed the matte trio is NC50-girl friendly. Happy Cat-turday =)

I feel more beautiful now than I did in my twenties… I’m sure at some point I’ll feel differently about that lol. The eyeshadow is pretty and this is a pretty good way to market eyeshadow as I have noticed creases in my lids that weren’t there before!

Ah, the fine lines. They have been creeping up on me throughout the last years, too, and now it looks like they are here to stay.

I was curious about these. They are more pigmented than I expected, and the colours are pretty.

I thought they were “meh” in the pans, but they are quite pretty swatched. The pigmentation and finishes look great.
