Lancome’s Natural Juicy Tubes should come with a warning for pet moms that reads, “‘It’s better to apply your Natural Juicy Tubes before (and not after) your cat/dog/hamster/fur baby comes over for a snuggle session.” Last night I slicked on a layer of Dot Apricot, one of six sheer shades in the limited edition Yayoi Kusama collection ($15 each), before Tabs climbed onto the bed for his nightly post-gravy petting, head butts, biscuits and chin bites, and by the time we finished, I had enough cat hair on my lips to weave a friendship bracelet.
It’s uncanny! The thick (even thicker than a MAC Lipglass), gooey formula must be made out of melted fur magnets… I seem to remember the limited edition Natural Juicy Tubes I tried last year feeling lighter, smoother and less sticky than these.
Each shade also sports a different signature fragrance. Dot Apricot’s subtle citrusy apricot is my fave, with Happy Honey (yup, it smells like honey!) a close second. The scents, and the light honey flavor that each of them has, fade after about five minutes on my lips.
I do the artwork on the tubes, though. Lancome tapped the Princess of Polka Dots for the designs, Yayoi Kusama, a Japanese artist known for her use of repetition, pattern and accumulation.
If you like ’em too, you might want to make your move before they say sayonara from Lancome counters for good.
When I’d tried those other Natural Juicy Tubes from Lancome last year, it had been right after the company reformulated the line. Like those, these are made without preservatives, and with Hungarian honey, royal jelly, shea butter and annatto.

They’re pretty moisturizing, too, although not as much as my go-to Clinique Superbalms.
PRICE: $15 each
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Lancome counters and also online

En français, s’il vous plaît!
Bradley Cooper has never really done much for me. I’ve always pictured him as a guy who contemplates calf implants (in other words, not my type), but then I saw this video of him speaking French…
Whatever homeboy is saying here sure sounds good to me. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I LOL’d hard at “I had enough cat hair on my lips to weave a friendship bracelet”. Karen, you never fail to make me smile. I love you for that. 🙂

OMG he sounds so fluent! I can’t believe it! Pretty perfect accent I have say. He speaks better French than the freakin’ Prime Minister of Canada who is supposed to be fluent, but sounds like a train wreck when he speaks.

The Juicy Tubes packaging is adorable here, but I wouldn’t be able to deal with cat hairs stuck to my lips!

Happy Honey sounds delicious, but I’m not sure about the color/pigmentation. The packaging is very cute though! My favorite LE Juicy Tube packaging I ever saw from Lancome was the World Tour series…I think that was awhile back, but I loved the artwork 🙂

I’m not a huge Juicy Tubes fan, but my sis is, and since her bday is coming up (same as yours Karen!) this sounds like a great idea.
Also, I do love the Coops speaking French, but Colin Firth busting out the Italian still does a wee bit more for me… 🙂

Oh man, never kiss a kitty after applying lip gloss/balm. Also, don’t do it right after putting on heavy facial moisturizer, either. Your face will become VERY furry, haha.
LOL calf implants. I totally agree about Bradley Cooper — he’s always seemed that way to me, too — but I have to admit, this bilingual girl is pretty impressed by his French. Also, it’s funny to hear people talk about the Hangover en francais.

You should try peche, it’s great and the smell is divine!
