If the red lipsticks in the MAC Marilyn Monroe collection make you do grabby hands in the air (grabby, grabby, grabby!), you’re not the only one! 🙂
But don’t let those lovely lippies monopolize your affections, especially if you like pressed highlighting powders and sweet nothings whispered in your ear.
With a soft shine that whispers, “happy birthday, Mr. President,” MAC’s new pale peach Beauty Powder in Forever Marilyn ($28) seeks to play up skin tones this fall without looking obvious or highlighting pores…
Pale and medium skin tones, that is. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to wear Forever Marilyn with my darker NC42 skin tone that doesn’t result in it looking ashy on me. I tried it as a highlighter, but that didn’t work, nor did wearing it as an all-over face powder.
Sorry, Tim Gunn. I tried.
One thing’s for sure: I love the fine, silky formula and inspired matte finish with its whisper of shine (perfect for subtle highlighting).
Lighter lovelies, you’re in luck! 🙂 With Forever Marilyn, you’ll be delicately radiant, and passersby will wonder if that glow of yours is natural, especially if you pair it with a foundation with a similar finish (like MAC Face and Body).
PRICE: $28
AVAILABILITY: Available now online (although it’s currently listed as “SOLD OUT”), and coming October 4 to MAC counters and stores

Oooh, yeah. I don’t get beauty powders anyways, and I am pale haha!
I MISS TIM GUNN’S show! Remember it? Best makeover show ever.
Karen says
I remember! It was really good. Have you read his book?
Sue Lin says
Finally, a peachy nude highlighter that doesn’t make you like a disco ball 🙂
Karen says
LOL, yeah! It’s like the opposite of disco ball. 🙂
Sue Lin says
What lip color are you wearing? It’s really Monroe.
Karen says
Hi Sue Lin,
I’m wearing Scarlet Ibis topped with Phiff Dazzleglass.
Alison M says
I had a feeling it would be too light for me too. Le sigh. I look forward to seeing it on some fair skinned lovelies.
Karen says
I echo your le sigh, Alison. 🙂
Nina says
I love this! Ive used it as a highlight using a MAC 109 brush and an over all face powder (after foundation) with an Eco Tools powder brush. Im an NC30-NC35 right now. 🙂
Karen says
Lucky you that you can wear this, Nina! Have you tried it with Face and Body? I bet that would be super pretty.

I was lucky enough to be invited to the preview event last Tuesday at my MAC store and was sad that I too cannot wear these beautiful blushes. I’m an NC 42 and it looked too ashy. But the lipsticks?! Swoon!
Karen says
Yeah, the lipsticks are gorgeous! Did you snag any of the lip liners to go with them?
Jennifer says
I’m all for this… no shimmer though? I’m still in love with Orgasm so I don’t know how I’d do without the shimmer.
Karen says
Hi Jennifer,
It’s got a very subtle shimmer that’s barely there. You could always layer something more sparkly on top.
Rachel says
I don’t know if it’s MAC as well, but i love the red lip.
Emily says
I got a beauty powder from MAC’s summer collection, but I don’t use it as often as I would like. Do you think the beauty powder is worth it compared to the blushes?
Cali says
I hope this becomes available again online or I can snag one in store! I’m an NW15 and must, must, must get my hands on this!
Tanya says
ummm you can use the forever marilyn powder as a eyeshadow! It can be highlight for the eyes or used in the inner corner of your eyes……
Myisha of Pink Panties & Leopard Lipstick says
I got it for collecting only, lol…. It looks a hot mess on my NC45 skin! I will give it a go as an eyeshadow though…
If all else fails, I’ll pop that sucker out n put something I can use in the compact!!
