I believe El Hub has officially resigned to his fate as the partner of a beauty-addicted weirdo. We’re at the stage now where nothing fazes the boy, not even beauty products in the fridge. 🙂
Case in point: I’ve been storing my latest skincare obsession, Clinique All About Eyes Serum ($26), next to the yogurt and cat food (yes, I said cat food)…
El Hub: Babe? Uh…why is there lipgloss in the fridge?
Karen: That’s not lipgloss; it’s Clinique All About Eyes Serum. Don’t touch.
El Hub: So…why is there eye serum in the fridge?
Karen: It feels better on my eyes when it’s cold.
El Hub: Okay… Can I put it with the cold cuts so it’s out of the way?
LOL!
Technically, you don’t have to keep it in the fridge because the steel rollerball pretty much always feels cool against the skin. I’ve been using it in the mornings while I drink my tea to moisturize and de-puff my eyes.
Clinique says that massaging the tip of the rollerball around the eye area increases blood flow and reduces built-up fluids while moisturizing the skin.
Yes, the mechanics of actually doing it first thing in the morning looks completely ridiculous, but it feels sooo good. And keeping the tube chilled in the fridge makes the experience *that* much more invigorating.
Speaking of invigorating experiences, caffeine happens to be one of the main ingredients in All About Eyes Serum, along with anti-oxidants and plant extracts. The formula’s designed to moisturize, decrease puffiness and reduce the appearance of dark circles, huzzah!
The best part about it: it kinda works! 🙂 The serum absorbs quickly, quenching the skin, and with the massaging action makes my eyes look considerably less puffy.
As for my dark circles, it hasn’t made them disappear. As a matter of fact, they look just about the same as ever, but I’ve only been using the product for about a week or so. I’m hopeful that with a little more time I’ll see a bigger dark circle difference (*fingers crossed*).
I think the slim packaging was a nice touch, too. I’m SO loving All About Eyes right now and would recommend it to everyone I know if it were only $10 cheaper (hint, hint, Clinique!). Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: A

Oooh this looks interesting. I really like the All About Eyes eye cream, have you tried it? Anyways, I used to store my eye creams/depuffers in the fridge too, but then I got too lazy to walk all the way from the kitchen to the bathroom and back again loll.

Sounds great, maybe I should try it because the cream that I am using now is not working. But I don’t really believe in eye creams 🙁
LOL about the conversation, I have something similar going on here, too 🙂

I’ve never been big on buying eye cream because they’re always waaay overpriced for the amount you get and there’s never any SPF in it (so how’s it supposed to prevent lines and wrinkles in the eye area?). My regular moisturizer w/SPF works just fine around my eyes, whether it’s chilled or unchilled. :oD Although I’ve used the regular All About Eyes/All About Eyes Rich in the past (free sample jars from a past Bonus Time gift) and it feels nice but I didn’t notice any dramatic difference, even after using it regularly for a couple of months.

I just started using the Garnier eye product a month ago, I must say it works pretty well. I’ve kinda noticed a difference in my dark circles and the skin around my eyes has gotten smoother. 🙂

I’ve really been wanting to try this, but how does it compare to the All About Eyes cream? I’ve used the cream a long time ago with good results, and now I don’t know which to pick!
Rica says
I do that too with my Garnier Eye Roller. It’s really cooling. Not sure if it does anything to my eye though, but it feels good =D.
I have always been searching for the best eye cream that can diminish my undereye circles and some fine lines… Karen, what would you recommend me to try?

I love All About Eyes! One time I put mine in the refrigerator and my husband (who leaves for work really early) just put a post-it note on top of it that read “WTF?”

That’s cute – it’s pretty much the conversation I would have w/the Mr. if I were to start storing my beauty products in the fridge next to his beers.

For a cheaper alternative, there’s the Garnier eye roller (something called like that.) 🙂 Although Clinique’s seems so much better…

I am totally into putting skincare products in the fridge! Such as masks, eye roller things, more masks… For this particular serum, I think it does reduce the puffiness because it’s cold that does make your vessels shrink, thus less puffy, but in terms of serious dark circles it shouldn’t be the best solution out there! I do use Clinique Repairwear eye cream because it is so lightweight yet creamy and it’s awesom 🙂

I gotta try this…

I just bought this today – here’s hoping it will de-puff my eyes even just a little (Allergies are going to slowly kill me… Or at least my desire to ever leave the house.)
