How far would you go for the perfect nude lipstick? What would (or wouldn’t) you do? To what ends would you traverse?? Girl, because I know I’d go far! I’d wake up from a dead sleep at the witching hour, and THEN walk several miles, uphill, both ways, IN THE SNOW, to find a perfect nude lipstick.
I’m dedicated to mah nudes! And the one thing I want from them more than any other? — that they play nicely with my lip lines and don’t settle in them.
Well, that and that they don’t make me look half dead… You know what I’m talking about. Those nude lipsticks that wash you out, and make you look like a throwback to Michael Jackson’s Thriller video?
I’m so happy that this second batch of 10 new Hourglass Girl Lip Stylos — the nudes, pinks, peaches corals and browns — is just as smooth and pigmented as the 10 bolder, brighter colors we looked at the other day. They’re fantastic!
Light like a lip balm, these Girl Lip Stylos are pigmented like a medium-to-full-coverage lipstick (depending on the shade). They have a faint vanilla flavor and scent, and the non-stick formula lasts about two hours on my lips, which isn’t long, but it’s what I expect considering the texture.
Another thing I like about these: the powerful names. They have names like Believer, Activist and Futurist, which is such a refreshing change from the usual variations on “Girl Boss” and “Sexy Slayer” that I keep seeing.
Yeah, they’re lipsticks…but they’re also fabulous. And they’re fabulous little reminders, too, that we’re more than just our makeup. The tagline is “Recognition, not competition.” Recognize the good in yourself and the good in others, and I think that’s a lovely message. 🙂
I love all of these, but keep an eye out for Believer (it’s a cool pink nude), Creator (a warm, peachy pink nude), Explorer (a coral) and Seeker (a medium rosy pink). Those are my faves in this batch.
They’re all $32 each — which is kind of expensive, but that’s Hourglass — and they’re available now, if you’re curious.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

These looks GORGEOUS! I’m leaning towards Seeker and Achiever. And yeah, the names on these are really cool.

Ohhhh Believer is pretty! Does it settle into lip lines though? Explorer is beautiful with your skintone, btw!

These look gorgeous! Plus the packaging is amazing.

Somehow nudes don’t excite me as much as reds do, so I would not walk uphill in the snow. On the other hand, I ride my bike through the snow for work, so I probably would do at least the same for a lipstick no matter the color.

I’ll take one of each please!!! 🙂 I think you look great in these more subtle shades, Karen! That said, I also love a fiery red lip on you.

Excellent pictures as always Karen! Lovely swatches. Thanks!

LOL, I’m so over the Girl Boss/Sexy Slayer names!

These are really pretty and I love the packaging! Influencer and Achiever are my favorites.

I am definitely more of a nude lip person than a bright (for myself) so most of these colors look great to me!

These look so great on you Karen, especially Believer&Explorer! I have a drawer full of nude lipstick that’s either too light or too dark, yet I keep looking ?

I really don’t think there is shade dud in the bunch here. Or the whole line, I’m very into the names too, so much better than shit like Bae or Femme Fatale. I will certainly be getting a few of the darker/brighter ones and I might be getting a more mauve based nude. I have to swatch them though, so it will be a while as my Sephora gets things about a quarter after the release date. I may just by a bunch and return the ones that don’t work, I hate doing that though!

All of these are beautiful. I can’t wait until they’re actually in-store, instead of just on-line. Too many colors to choose from and it would be helpful to swatch them in person.
I really love the positive names they gave these.

Hey lady! I couldn’t get full listing of the Girl Stylo ingredients, but I did ask if there was macadamia nut oil and I was told that there isn’t from someone within Hourglass product development dept. So you should be good!

Cool! Thank you!

Hi Karen!
I was wondering if you could give a product breakdown of what you’re wearing on your face, eyes, cheeks…because you look AMAZING!!!
Thanks!
