Hip, Hip, Hooray! Three Sheers for Becca Glossy Lip Tint

Published in: Makeup, Product Reviews

becca glossy lip tint review

Okay, where’ve the Becca Glossy Lip Tints ($23) been all my life? Seriously, did you know about these? I guess they’ve been around for years, covertly gliding under my radar with their non-sticky, long-lasting and oh-so-shiny texture, and I’ve been woefully out of the loop.

Wet like juicy jelly, they should be perfect on days when all I want is a sheer (but not too sheer) wash of color.

This week I tried three of the 25 shades on for size…

You know the MAC Lip Gelees (LOVE THOSE!)? I think these have a similarly wet finish and that same cushiony feel on the lips.

They might be a tad drying (unflavored but smell faintly of watermelon) compared to the Lip Gelees, but that’s easy to enough remedy with the help of a moisturizing balm or lipstick worn underneath.

If your kisser, like mine, craves non-sticky glosses with sheer color and dazzling shine, you just might like these a lot. Available at Pure Beauty stores and online beccacosmetics.com. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: B+/A-

What are you up to tonight? I’m over here letting my mind rot watching the new Real World. It’s the same thing over and over, isn’t it? But I can’t resist… Add young’ns, booze and boobs, rinse and repeat. The formula hasn’t changed in years, le sigh.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I love cherry bomb! I just got home from Old navy!! They had a HUGE sale! Saved over $100! Now I’m relaxing to some Paramore, playing Assassin’s Creed, and waiting on Hubby to come home from work. A very good day for me! You??

    • Karen says:

I haven’t been there for a minute. Maybe I need to hit it up tomorrow!

My day was okay… the afternoon was kinda rough (PMS, yadda yadda yadda) but now it’s getting better.

      Onward to Friday, WOOT!

  2. Citrine says:

Cherry bomb looks pretty nice,I always have a soft spot for lip gloss with fruity name/color…Anyway, I rarely buy high-end sheer glosses because…they are sheer anyway.

    • Karen says:

What drugstore glosses do you like, Citrine?

      • Citrine says:

It’s hard to pick because they come up with new ones all the time, anyway right now I am loving L’Oreal colour juice in raspberry smash (a cherry red that shows quite well while not being over-the-top) and their jelly balm in plush(kind of gives a jelly bean’s finish) . Revlon super lustrous lip glosses are among my favorites as well!

  3. Ah lip gelees…I miss those! Most stores have such a limited selection these days!

Oh and bout Real World…totally agree, yet totally addicting!

I missed the boat on the lip gelees, never heard of them! I’ve also never heard of Becca. These seem like they’d be a good intro to the line!

I’m uploading pictures to my Flickr account and then hitting the hay. Family reunion tomorrow & Saturday! You know how Filipino parties are, right? :) I’m expecting to gain 10 pounds over the weekend.

    • Karen says:

Oh, have fun! I’m sure there will be a plethora of yummy food to eat (and bring home!). Is the reunion going to be a big to-do?

As for Becca, they make some great stuff. I like their stick foundation and tinted moisturizer too!

    Cherry Bomb looks very pretty!

  6. Laura says:

I just watched Real World! I can’t help myself. Besides today is a slow TV day so Real World rerun is in order.

  7. Jennifer says:

The Non-Blonde blog mentioned a code today for 25% off till mid-August for a site called Beautyhabit that carries the whole Becca line! I was thinking about getting the Shimmering Skin Perfector (I heard it was a really natural looking highlighter), but I might have to add one (or a few?) of these glosses to my list as well!!

  8. Colada is very pretty.

Oh, it’s an amazing gloss! I have several shades, including Frappe, and I love them all. On lighter skin tones Frappe looks like hot coral, great for summer.
I love everything from BECCA, one of the best brands out there :)

I love the couple Becca things I have – I just wish the brand was easier to find in the US! Cherry Bomb looks super cute.

LOL, I watched Real World on my TiVo last night also. While eating Doritos. Not sure which is worse for me.

    Happy Friday!

    • Karen says:

A few years back Sephora stocked the *entire* line. I was so bummed when they pulled them out of stores.

As for The Real World, I have NO IDEA why I keep watching. It’s so trashy! Remember how innocent the very first season was in comparison? I used to have the biggest crush on Eric.

      • Tiffany says:

I love mindless tv. no shame in my game!

I actually didn’t watch the first season – I started watching at season 12 – Las Vegas. so my real world exposure has been trashy from the start, LOL!

      • Karen says:

The first couple of seasons (New York and San Francisco) were really, REALLY different. The producers actually chose people who seemed real (LOL… they had jobs and everything!). They also focused on other things besides hookups and drinking.

But I guess they stopped doing that because all the scandalous stuff pulls in ratings…

  12. WOW really nice gloss..and 25 to chose from?! I will have to check these out…I love Cherry Bomb!

  13. Twetriz says:

The Frappe one looks great. That is the only shade I tried, BECCA is one of my favorite makeup brand now days.

      TGIF!

      • Nina says:

        TGIF indeed!

Had lunch w/ my sister and just did a bit of grocery shopping. Were staying in tonight so I can finish reading The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

I put the Dresden books aside for a while to read Larsson! :D

  15. Connie says:

Becca makes some of the BEST glosses. They rank up there with glossimers IMO and my fave shade is bellini

  16. Van says:

    I LOVE Cherry Bomb :)

I also watch Real World, have been since the first season, even though it sucks, I get hooked right i!!! What is up with the Ryan kid and blow drying himself in bed?????

  17. Trisha says:

I love the packaging: how frosted the tubes are. And they look particularly nice.

Love Colada — looks kinda like MAC Nymphette. Pretty!

  19. Kristen says:

I LOVE Becca, and am still upset over the fact that Sephora no longer carries the line. Glossy Lip TInts are fab…but have you tried the Pressed Shimmer Powders? Gypsy and Odette have been in heavy rotation over here for YEARS.

  21. Summer ♥♥ says:

ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-CHERRY BOMB! I love that song :) If any of you guys remember, by the Runaways. i love these type of glosses….juicy ones that look like fruit. But I typically can’t find any good ones. I wish they had them at Ulta, because I have no idea where Pure Beauty is and i hate ordering cosmetics online :(

  22. reesa says:

OMG. You must have been reading my mind. I LOVE Becca glosses. I only have one (Caipiroska) that I am in absolute love with and I have been trying to get my hands on a few more. I hear that they are now carrying Becca in some select Duane Reade stores in NYC (where I work)…I think a little lunchtime trip is in order (hhaaaay!) LOL.

Thanks for the review (and for increasing my urge for more glosses) ;-)

  23. I love these and all Becca glosses. Colada reminds me a lot of Benefit I’m With The Band

  24. Lowelli says:

Its so strange, I always think that sheer glosses look all the same but they are CLEARLY giving colour to your lips. They look lovely!

Tonight I’m going dancing with my girlfriends! Might need a power nap beforehand though……This should be interesting!

  25. regina says:

all three look great on you! they look so much different on the lips vs. in the tube…in a good way. : )

  26. Trinidad says:

    Happy Hour is my agenda!

  27. Meredith says:
