If you’re totally over lugging everything and the kitchen sink around in your purse (and that includes your bloated makeup bag), can I just say I feel your pain? Here’s what I had in my over-the-shoulder boulder holder today (cat not included)…

Do you carry enough eyeliner/eyeshadow in your purse to adorn a platoon of sassy drag queens? If so, then it’s time for a makeup intervention.

Streamline that makeup bag with Hard Candy’s newest edition to their permanent line, the $6 Hot Smudge Cream Eyeliner/Smudge Shadow Duos for spring/summer 2010 (available at Wal-Mart).

Six bucks gets ya two creamy colors that work as both eyeliners and eyeshadows, along with a dual-ended brush for lining and smudging. And get this: the brush actually works! I usually throw out (or set aside) the brushes that accompany products because 9/10 times they aren’t great, but this one lays down precise lines with ease.

With six fun and edgy color combos to choose from, each Hot Smudge comes calling in a skinny, sleek case perfect for tucking into teeny makeup bags.

If you’re new to cream eyeshadows, you’re in for a treat. Hot Smudge’s soft, malleable texture offers a lot of control — it’s more forgiving than liquid liner, so you can take your time smudging and lining. This flexibility allows for lots of different looks, too, from sharp lines to smoked-out drama.

Some cream liners disappear faster than my youth (I’m talking to you, Urban Decay Ink for Eyes!), but Hot Smudge does a pretty good job staying put.

I’ve been wearing Stunt Double, which comes with a shimmery purple and blackish brown, for the past few days.

The colors don’t stick around for squat along my waterline, but if I remember to pop a primer on my lids, they hang onto the lash line for a good six-to-eight hours (minimal fading). NOTE: a little bit of product migrates into my crease, but if your lids aren’t as oily as mine, it shouldn’t be a problem. Despite a couple minor quibbles, I think Hot Smudge’s $6 price makes it totally right. Makeup and Beauty Blog: A

Ahh, now I get to see this on your lids, good stuff! As for my Friday, I visited my mom and we made a really all-over-the-place lunch: turkey burgers, nachos and shrimp with cocktail sauce. It was awesome.

Oh my goodness – they are pretty! I think the Misfit and Dropout duos are awesome. I just might pick these up when I make a WallyWorld run next week — my sister needs a TV and I told her id take her to see the prices/selection there. :)

Were done w/ the graduation and the lunch. Just chillaxin now before we go out for a cocktail or two later!

    Happy weekend, Karen!

I know that if I get these Hard Candy liners, I’ll regret spending so much money on the L’oreal HiP ones :[ !!!!

This looks really interesting. I’ve been trying to stay away from buying more eyeliner and such, but the more reviews I read on these the more I want to try them.
When I’m in a rush, although I like liquid eyeliner, it never turns out well. Even when I’m not in a rush, it’s not fantastic either. I might just have to drop by the handy Walmart and buy one!

  6. Toni says:

Nice stuff! I can’t get gel/liquid/cream liners to work worth diddly squat on me. I might have to give this a try and the price is definitely right!

Hope you get some fried chicken! We’re eating pizza (our Friday night staple). Have a great weekend!

Hahahahalol “over-the-shoulder boulder holder” most certainly refers to bras, not makeup bags =)

    • Karen says:

Ha! I know that refers to bras, but it’s what I like to call my purse because 1.) it goes over my shoulder, and 2.) it’s big enough to hold a boulder!!

      • marisa says:

LOL! i thought the same thing…..i was like “well i think i already know what your over the shoulder boulder holder contains….”

  13. amy says:
