Awards I Have a Legitimate Chance of Actually Winning Someday…
- Craziest Cat Lady in Northern Marin County (in the 30-40 age division)
- Most Likely to Drop a Makeup or Beauty Product on Her Foot (Happens at least once a day. This morning I dropped my giant pan of Guerlain Terra Nerolia on my left foot. The pan was fine, but my foot is still throbbing.)
- Least Likely to Say “No” When Offered Ice Cream for Dessert (seriously)
I think I’d also have a shot at the “Best Dressed Landlocked Mermaid Award,” but only if I were wearing the new Guerlain Ecrin 2 Couleurs Eyeshadow Duo in 02 Two Stylish ($44).
All I have to say is “mermaid eyes!” This duo (one of eight new permanent collection duos bobbing up on Guerlain counters this month) sings a sea siren’s song with a silky semi-matte deep blue, and a softly shimmering metallic gray.
It’s glowy, gorgeous and guaranteed to make you weak in the knees (or your tail fin area) if you bold blue eye looks.
Just like the brown shade in the Two Spicy palette, both of these shadows are Dolce & Gabbana/Armani-caliber creamy; they practically melt on lids like butter on hot bread.
And gosh, that blue!
You know how some blues can be really hard to blend? Two Stylish buffs out so smoothly that it’s as if it yearns to blend. Gradients couldn’t be a whole lot easier to create, and there’s barely any fallout at all.
The shimmery, silvery gray is just as exceptional as the blue. Shiny, but not too shiny, and it doesn’t settle into my fine lines.
I think it’s beautiful on its own (or buffed on top of black liner), as well as layered on top of the blue, which is how I’m wearing it in these pics.
Worn with my trusty NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof base, Two Stylish stays put all day, no creasing or fading.
Babe, even if you don’t think of yourself as a blue eyeshadow gal, or if you’ve always felt that your skin tone was too warm for blue, at the very least, give this blue a swatch.
Or, try it on the next time you find yourself at a Guerlain counter, and let it work its mermaid magic on you. 🙂
PRICE: $44
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Guerlain counters as part of the permanent collection, and coming soon to the world online

And being a part-time mermaid…
…I had another tuna fish sammie on sourdough for lunch.
Again.
FOR THE FOURTH TIME THIS WEEK!
You see, people can be very resistant to change when it comes to their tuna fish sandwiches. I’m a pretty adventurous eater (as long as I don’t have to cook it, LOL!), and it took me years to try a tuna melt, which I ended up really liking. Go figure.
I didn’t have a tuna melt today, though. Just a regular tuna sammie.
Mine are pretty straightforward. I drain the tuna, chop some onions (or use dried onion flakes when I’m extra lazy), add a little mayo, a squeeze of lemon, salt and pepper…
Enjoy. 🙂
How about you? How do you make your tuna fish sandwiches?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I love Tuna Melts while hubby loves Tuna quesadillas or sometimes with crabs. I love this mermaid blue and silver combo. It’s just beyond my budget for an eyeshadow for now, I just bought the Mdame batifole lipstick. I need to convince el hub to allow me to splurge on this.

Wow. This duo looks stunning on you. Must be one of the most beautiful eye looks you have created recently. Do you think it’d work on me? Btw, workout was exhausting! I am doing workouts from this website channel called Fitness Blender. I’m addicted to it!
Chelsea says
OMG, I love this! Mermaid is right! I’m pretty sure I’m not pulling this off, but you are working it!
Tracy@Beauty Reflections says
WOWZA! I love it! I want to see these duos in person! Even though I’m shadowed-to-the-max, if there’s a combo that’s interesting how can you say no? It’s Guerlain!
I love my tuna sammies like you do plain, but I also love a good melt. Try Brie-SO GOOD.

Well well well, this looks like a duo I should meet. I love the look you’ve created!

Those eyes are gorgeous. I also make my tuna sammich a few different ways, but my favorite is probably with albacore tuna, chopped up celery, a little pesto mayo (literally, just a glob of pesto and olive oil mayo mixed together), and chopped up red and green peppers on a roll with some fresh mozzarella. If I’m feeling extra saucy, I throw bacon on there. You wouldn’t think it would work, but it does.
And I can’t take complete credit for this as at least 75% of this recipe is my bf’s, whom I met while he was working at this hole-in-the-wall sammich place right by my college. I claim the bacon part of it though.

I love this! Blue and silver is something I’ve not even bother to combine but you’ve done a super pretty eye look with it! That blue reminds me of a song hehe (Blue Jeans….Lana del Rey)

WOW!! i love the matte blue!!

Blues always look great on you, and this is no exception!
For my tuna, I usually finely chop onion (or scallions), celery and a bit of carrot. Then add them with some mayo, celery salt and pepper to the drained tuna. I don’t eat if often, but I’m pretty particular about it, so I always make it myself. 🙂

The blues are fantastic.

I saw this and thought, “Eh, I can pass this up.” But then I see you with this on and think, “Yeah, so I think I’m going to have to pick that up!” LOL! Looove the look and I’m a sucka for blue.

If I wasn’t so broke, this is the Guerlain product I’d splurge on. Easy eyelook in pretty, sleek packaging. Perfect!

I am in love with this Duo! That blue is really pretty!
yelena says
your eyes look AMAZING!!! please please tell us how you did this eye look? did you use brown or taupe in your crease at all? were these the only 2 shadows you used?
Karen says
Hi Yelena!
Here’s a short breakdown:
1. Guerlain Black Jack liner on the water lines and outer third of the lid (as a base to darken the outer lid)
2. Blue from Two Stylish duo on the inner and outer lid, then ever so slightly in the crease
3. Silver from Two Stylish in center of lid
4. Guerlain Terra Nerolia bronzer in the crease and lower lash line
5. Black Jack smudged along the the outer third of the lower lash line
6. Blue shade from Two Stylish along the lower lash line
That’s it! Just the two shadows, a black liner and a bronzer to transition.
Yelena says
WOW! cannot believe a look that is so beautiful could be so easy! thanks so much for the tips, I will surely try it with the colors I have available 🙂

I’m really digging the duos of Guerlain. I have two spicy to test and I’m in love with the purple/gold duo as well ^^. I really love this one too tho. You are rocking the blues like no other!
Lisa says
Gorgeous eye look on you — one of the best I’ve seen you do. Makes me want to go buy it NOW!
Danielle says
This duo is actually a lot more wearable than I had first thought (considering I’m not always one for blues).
Beth says
What lipstick are you wearing? Looks really pretty on you.
