Taking bronzer to “the next level” (air quotes!).
Raise your hand if you’re a bronzer enthusiast — also known as someone who wears bronzer almost daily, hook or crook, without fail.
I am totally raising my hand right now. 🙂
Guerlain’s new Joli Teint was made for you.
Like a lightweight liquid bronzing foundation, or maybe a primer for your bronzer, it couples SPF 20 sun protection with a warm-toned matte finish and a flexible formula you can wear sheer or built up for more coverage.
Comparable to sunshine in a tube, this magical, lightweight fluid gives skin an instant touch of summer, leaving behind a perfectly radiant glow. Used on its own or paired with Terracotta Powder for buildable color, there is no easier and healthier way to create the perfect customizable tan for every complexion. Terracotta Joli Teint has a feather-light texture that glides on, leaving an incredibly fine and silky veil over the skin. It contains nourishing natural ingredients which counter the visible effects of fatigue, reviving dull skin for a radiant, even complexion. .

Available in five shades — Light, Natural, Medium, Dark and Ebony — it can be worn all by itself as a standalone foundation, or combined with bronzer, which is the way it was designed to be used.
I like it both ways.
The shades are warmer and darker than the shades in Guerlain’s mainstream foundation line, Lingerie de Peau, giving your faux glow an extra boost, like a bronzing support tool.
Wear a little for sheer coverage, or build up layers for more.
Natural, the shade I’ve been wearing, has noticeably warm/orangey bronze undertones, and I like the way it partners with Guerlain Terra Nerolia, the bronzer I’ve been hooked on since last summer. It even has the same wonderful tiara flower scent.
At $53 a tube, it’s not budget by any means, but at least it performs. It goes on smoothly (no patchiness, not even on my dry spots, yay!), doesn’t settle into my exuberant pores, stays put all day long, and best of all, feels lighter than a feather on my skin — almost like nothing at all.
I wore it both days last weekend with a bit of bronzer and some blush, and my pores could breathe. I didn’t feel like I was suffocating under a layer of foundation.
I do a single pump on the back my hand, and then, using either clean fingers or a foundation brush, stipple it on my cheeks just under my cheekbones where I need the coverage. Then, I run whatever remains on the brush along my jawline, down the bridge of my nose and across my forehead.
By that point, if I feel like I need more coverage, I’ll do an extra “half pump,” patting and blending that to build up the level of coverage on my cheeks.
Then I followup with bronzer.
Now, because it contains sunscreen, I don’t wear this for taking flash photo pics. I wouldn’t want the titanium dioxide to leave a white cast.
I think of Joli Teint more as off-duty/weekend/vacation makeup, versus something I’d think to use for a special event. Like, I wouldn’t wear it for wedding pics, but I would pack it in my luggage for the honeymoon.
I think it’s just a beautiful, natural-looking foundation, whether worn by itself or beneath bronzer. It doesn’t look or feel weighty, either.
Obvs, if you’re not into bronzer, it may not be your cup of tea. The shades do run a little warm and dark…
Now, if you are a dedicated bronzing babe, I think it makes a nice spring/summer addition to a makeup bag.

Easter stunna shades? Check!
Look what I spotted in the dollar section at Target the other night (observe the shelves of cat food in the background).
I could not say no.
In other news, it’s been a pretty quiet St. Paddy’s Day so far… You doing anything tonight?
Since El Hub and Tabs are part Irish… 🙂 We’re going to this Irish brewery here in Novato called Moylan’s. They make a mean fish and chips (and some good beers, too, like a yummy pomegranate ale), and on St. Paddy’s Day they have a live bagpiper band playing all the greatest hits.
Should be fun. You be careful out there.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

The guerlain squeeze tube design with the sun on it makes me think it’s gonna be a bronzer. 🙁

Sadly, this has that telltale Guerlain pinky peach undertone that makes their foundations offlimits to me, and you can even see in your pics that it gives you a slight greyish cast. And I say this as someone who has been looking at your complexion in awe and wonder for the last few months and who *needs* to know all. your. secrets. Just step away from the Guerlain foundations!

Actually the swatches look pretty yellow based. Alex from Monsiieur Alex has some lovely swatches http://www.monsiieuralex.com/2014/03/guerlain-terracotta-joli-teint.html and they look very golden to me.

Haha, I actually thought of you when I saw them! They are crazy bunny lady approved. 😀
Did you end up getting them? PLEASE SAY YES!
Chelsea says
Totally crazy bunny lady approved! I didn’t buy them, but I’m going to have to start my Easter planning, since it’s Quincy’s holiday, after all. I’m sure my Facebook friends are sick of me sharing pictures saying not to buy baby bunnies as Easter gifts, but I have to stick up for the buns!
Karen says
Definitely. I would love to have a bunny “for Tabs” but I don’t think he’s quite ready yet.
Does Quincy have his outfits lined up for Easter yet?
Chelsea says
Quincy normally sticks to his tuxedo patterned fur! Classy guy.
