If I ever make it back to the tropics, Laura Mercier’s Gold Digger collection is coming with me. Set to debut this spring, Laura’s summer collection is all about gold and bronze shimmer and includes two travel-friendly products that caught my eye: Colour Pots and Lip Glace lipglosses. I predict both would go perfectly with a surfer girl tan.

Each Colour Pot houses a cream eyeshadow base, with a coordinating loose powder shadow tucked away beneath it (so very James Bond!). Both products work well separately, but they’re intended to be layered one on top the other for an intense metallic shine.
I prefer to pack lightly when it comes to makeup and travel, so the idea of two products in one handy and compact package moves me. I welcome anything that lightens my load and means a bit more room for souvenirs in my carry-on bag.
Laura Mercier has made three gilded shades available — White Gold, Solid Gold and Bronze Gold.
As if you haven’t noticed, the gold theme continues. I’m excited about picking up all three new Lip Glace shades — Bronze, Gold and Platinum. Lip Glace lipglosses are non-sticky and don’t chap my lips or make them peel.
Here are a few pics, along with details on the rest of the collection.

Lip Glace (Limited Edition), $22
Colors: Bronze (copper bronze), Gold (yellow gold) and Platinum (white gold)
Colour Pot, $32
Colors: White Gold, Solid Gold, Bronzed Gold
Nail Lacquer, $15
Colors: 24 Carat, Sterling
Bronzing Duo, $32 (new)
Colors: Coral Bronze (golden bronze and peach), Pink Bronze (warm red bronze and deep pink)
Dual Eye Colour Brush (new), $34
The Laura Mercier site hasn’t made the collection available for sale yet, but I’ll check back in the next few days. Let me know if you see it sooner. Expect Gold Digger to begin appearing at Laura counters this spring.
Everybody and their mama in the beauty blogosphere’s been going a-crazy over Heatherette, um, except me. I haven’t been feeling the cheesy pink packaging. SHOCKING, I know, since I’m usually all about the cheese… and pink. I’m going to swing by the MAC counter after work today to take a closer look. Who knows? I just might go a-crazy too.
SWEET GODS my work project is almost done, and the end is in sight! Keep on keepin’ on, my friends!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I feel the same way about Heatherette! The colors are nice but I feel like I can do without the cheesy packaging. Girl, where do you get time to blog so much? I’ve been so behind all week!

Hi Breezy,
Pretty, yah? I am excited about seeing it in person. Golds and bronzes are no-brainer colors for me! So easy to wear and very summery.

It’s funny that you post this because I’ve been in a gold fever lately. Today I rock the MAC cash flow and L’Oreal Hyper Space combo and…I’m lovin’ it! I love the cat chaneling Kayne also!

Hi Dao,
Oh, yes, go for the gold. I have been really aching for summer (I love warm weather!) so gold makeup sort of satisfies my itch. Do you have any favorite gold shadows?
LOL, I’ve been listening to Kanye for the past few days. He’s going to be in the Bay Area next month, and like the total dork that I am, I forgot to buy tickets when they were for sale, and now the show is sold out.
Happy Friday!

Hi Breezy,
It’s not a lotion, but I really like Nuxe’s Prodigieuse OR:

I like to put it on my arms and legs - gives ‘em a nice shimmer. I’ll do some research on ‘em and let you know what I find…

You aren’t crazy about Heatherette?
OMG, I can’t wait until it wiil be released here on April 5th! There will be just one counter in Germany that gets Heatherette - but luckily you can order there. That’s what I have already done and now I have to wait until the releasing date.
I could call the counter every day just like: “You won’t forgert my order, will you?”
but I better don’t do this…
I am a HUGH fan of pink

Hi Susanne,
I’m huge fan of pink and of MAC, too. I played with a few items yesterday at my fave MAC counter… I do like the lipsticks and glosses (Sock Hop is very pretty).

i love that it’s 2 in 1 - so easy for travelling and experimenting w/different intensities. i’m sure you can get so many looks out of one color.

I’m not feeling Heatherette either. I want to check out Lollipop love in person, since I missed out on strawbaby, and I’m curious about the glaze formula lipstick. but otherwise, yeah, blech.
I love the look of this gold collection. Those double sided pots seem super cool! But the spring/summer collection I’m wanting MOST is Becca-I really want the tuberose lip/cheek creme. oh, and nars dolce vita blush when it comes out. (I haven’t seen any pics of this, just rumors. but it sounds promising).
yay for FRiday-hopefully your project is done.

Hey Karen - I’m totally late on this bandwagon but OMG OMG OMG…I bought the Colour Pot in Solid Gold. I’m OBSESSED and wear it everyday with MAC’s Ricepaper as my highlight. It’s awesome. I want to buy Lip Glace in Gold…just waiting for budgetary reasons.
