Words one does not expect to hear at a Giorgio Armani Beauty counter: “Where’s, like, the dollar menu?”
Because everything is pricey! — like this new $88 eye palette from Giorgio Armani’s Fade to Grey fall 2014 collection.
That’s a lot of glow, yo.
The sleek, stylish black packaging houses two absolutely beautiful eye luminous shimmer shadows, side by side — one, a warm, shimmery golden peach, and the other a purply taupe-ish grey.
On lids, these shadows are like Buzz Lightyear, reflecting light to infinity and beyond. The super shiny finish makes my eyes look BIG, doe-eyed and bright, and the effect is even more pronounced when I incorporate a dramatic mascara, like Armani’s new Black Ecstasy, which I’m wearing here.
When I’m wearing these shadows, because of how shiny and shimmery they are, I feel like I should also wear something matte to balance things out, add depth and keep things interesting. For these pics, that’s a matte warm brown, which I’m wearing in my crease.
Without that matte, I dunno… I just feel like the shimmer is a little much, you know?
PRICE: $88
AVAILABILITY: Available now online and at Giorgio Armani Beauty counters
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: B+ (Ouch! That price though.)

Yes! I completely get what you mean! Can have only a bit of shimmer but then matte is a must. But this here just is so gorgeous in its packaging itself he he!
Olivia says
$88. For two eyeshadows. Armani must be joking, right? Ughhhhhh…
They are lovely, though….smh.

OMG Karen I must have this! This is so beautiful. I’m not usually super into the real shimmer shadows but damn those colors- I think I’m in love. Is it at Armani counters now?
Karen says
Hi Amanda,
Yes it is! It’s also online too. 🙂

Ooh that purple-taupe. The pattern also looks beautiful. Completely agree with you on the price though.

Love the pattern on the eye shadows! But the price, ouch!
Natalie says
Karen you look stunning in these pictures! That makeup look is just amazing on you.
Agata says
The price is way too high! You look adorable though. Seriously, you look cute and beautiful even wearing a hairband!
Erin says
The taupe side is really nice!

I think the term “palette” is a wee bit ambitious marketing, heh. I’m not sure why high end brands are still attached to including foam applicators… I think sales would boost if they somehow squeezed a mini brush into the deal.
I really like that top with that look though. Tres chic!

You coordinate makeup so well! I get ideas from you on a daily basis. Thank you.

It’s definitely too shimmery for me, but aw man, what a beauty to look at! And that goes for you too, Karen 🙂
Kim says
This really looks beautiful on you, though it would definitely not be as flattering on me. What do you think of the pattern in the pan? It reminds me of looking at cells under the microscope. 🙂
Christina says
So nice, but the price is just too high for two colors! Is the pan at least larger than normal?
Shayna says
It’s beautiful!!!!! But, $88 for two eyeshadows is way too expensive. Can two eyeshadows qualify as a palette?????
The colors look great on you 🙂
Elena says
I stopped at my local Nordstrom just to see if it was in. Apparently only the top 5 stores in the company are getting the palette! It should be popping online at the end of the month.
I can’t wait! I love the inspiration behind the collection. So glad you posted swatches Karen!
Fancie says
Lmao! The Armani counter does need a dollar menu. This palette looks beautiful but $88? It’s barely even a palette lol. The colors are gorgeous but not worth that price

These two shades aren’t as shimmery as the new Tom Ford LE eye palette that everyone is going gaga over. I have the new TF palette and its quite shimmery on my lids but GA looks less shimmery…more of a glow. I’m gonna order this one.
Chelsea says
That’s one of my favorite color combinations, but OUCH at that price! Also, a little bit of matte would make it better, I agree. I’m all about combining the matte and shimmer shades.
