Hi, ladies! I’m mo-blogging from the Pure Beauty store in my hood and just spied these lip glosses by Fresh called Gloss Absolute. Aren’t they cute?
The glosses come in four shades: Desire (cherry red), Bellini (peach), Rose Parfait (light pink) and Dahlia (wine).
The only thing holding me back is the price — each costs $24.50, about the same price as a Chanel Glossimer. Have you used Gloss Absolute before? What did you think? Is it worth the price?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

i have used these lipglosses before, they are rather expensive though. i own dahlia and bellini, they are amazing and i honestly think they are worth the money. they almost fill like a lip plumper, just a tad, but i loveeeeeeeeee them and the packaging. yes they are on the steep side which would prevent a lot of people from buying this, but the whole line is farely expensive. you get quite a bit of product and i truely love the, they are pretty sheer but have a good amount of color, great shine factor, and they stay on for a quite a while. they also some what moisturize my lips

the pots look so pretty! i love their sugar lip balm but it’s $22!

hmmm…I’ll stick to my amazing Tendertones!!!!

For $24 dollars I expect it to at least provide spf protection as some glosses can actually act like a magnifying glass, exacerbating the effects of the sun on lips!!

I would not buy that, not because of the price but the packaging. I don’t like to stick my fingers in the pot and swipe on my lips. It just screams tacky and unhygienic to me!
Glad you replied to the facials issue. To me, getting a facial is just a weird experience since I’m not used to being strapped under a blanket for the entire time. It does look and feel nice for a bit but I don’t think it’s anything that my products at home can’t do. Btw, last night I decided to clean up my bathroom a bit and omg, I got lots of skin care products these days.

I’ve never used anything by Fresh that I liked…even with the dollar being week and that making these about £12, I’d rather spend the money on Tendertones or an Estee Lauder gloss (my personal fave gloss brand).

I love Fresh but I hate how expensive the products are!

I LOVE these! I own desire and am on my 4th one! It smells and tastes awesome and I love the super shiny “I just ate a cherry popsicle” look. I also dab a little on my cheeks for a beach look. The little compact fits great into a pocket!!!

I’m with BeautyTalk, love the line, hate the pricepoint! And somehow, they don’t manage to inspire my love sufficiently (like Chanel) that I’ll actually shell out for it!
I guess overall, I’m grateful that Chanel is the only luxe brand that really pushes my “pay the price” button! Gimme gimme glossimers! 🙂

Hi Shayna,
Thanks for your input! I went back and forth for a good half hour and then decided to wait. If I still want them in a week I’m going to go back and get them.
Karen says
Hi Lindsay,
Aren’t they super cute? The Sugar Lip Balm sounds like it would be good enough to eat, but at $22 — yikes!
Karen says
Hi Vivien,
I like the Tendertones, but ugh, I sure hate sticking my fingers in those pots. What do you think of the Strobe lip conditioner sticks?
Karen says
Hi Dao,
You’re welcome! What did you not like about being under the blanket? Most of the time I end up just falling asleep (lame, I know, but true).
I have a lot of random skin care products, too. I’ve been really lovin’ on the Clean & Clear, though, for my pimple issues (review to follow shortly).
Karen says
Hi Beth,
Oh sweet! I have a few EL glosses… do you like the ones with the wand or the tube?
Karen says
Hi BeautyTalk,
I know! I have a hard time thinking of the brand being on par with Chanel pricing… but I guess lots of women dig the brand. I’ve read about the Fresh Here Comes the Sun palette a gazillion times.
Karen says
Hi KK,
I didn’t know you could use ’em as a cheek stain! Cute!
The portability of the compact is very handy, I agree. Do you use your fingers or do you bring along a lip brush?
Karen says
Hi Glosslizard,
Yeah, I have a hard time seeing this as a luxe line a la Chanel. When I look at the packaging and the products they look like they should be priced like Stila.
Yes, you *are* lucky! 🙂
Glosslizard says
Ooh, I’d like it if they were priced like Stila! 🙂
Karen says
Hi Glosslizard,
Yeah, me too! I’d be all over the cute lil’ palettes, especially.
It’s been a while since I’ve hit up the Pure Beauty store in my neighborhood so I was really surprised to find Fresh along with Becca. Now I no longer need to cross the bridge to get my Becca fix — tis a mere five minutes away. I haven’t decided if this is a good or bad thing. 🙂
Glosslizard says
That’s great (?)! My local Pure Beauty is pretty brand-challenged! They only have 3 or 4 brands of cosmetics. I’d like them to start carrying China Glaze and Oscar Blandi!
Karen says
When I was in Hawaii I found this random beauty store with like, three racks worth of China Glaze. It was truly awesome. I wanted to stock up but this was the end of the trip and I knew my luggage was already stuffed to max capacity.
I think you gotta go to the less fancy-shmansy mom and pop beauty stores to find that line.
Bah, I can’t believe tomorrow is Monday!

I love the Dahlia color – it seems to look cute on everyone. I have found that my little pot has lasted quite a while (though probably because I have a million lip glosses that I bounce between). I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
Karen says
Thanks for your input, Katie. I decided to not get a pot, but when I go back in a few weeks I will revisit them again and think about it.
Are you a Fresh fan?
Lovely says
I LOVE fresh. their products are great for sensitive skin, so if you have sensitive skin (like me) the price points are well worth it. the ingredients are definitely quality and they avoid mineral oils (which is the cheap filler a lot of cosmetics companies use to make the product SEEM luxurious when it’s really not). not to mention, their aestheticians (oh did i spell that right?) are very helpful and not at all pushy or stuck up. all in all, Fresh gets 5 stars from me, and I already work for one of the cosmetics companies mentioned above and I’m not a fan of its products (but i will not say which).
