Whenever I swipe a little blush on my cheeks, there’s that moment afterwards when I take a step back, see myself in the mirror and sigh with relief. “Ahhh…”
You know what I’m talking about. 🙂
Without at least a hint of color on my cheeks, I look like a walking billboard for one of those all-inclusive island resorts — an aimless, ambling, barely-aware “before” picture of someone in dire need of a margarita on a white sandy beach (picture me in a ratty terrycloth bathrobe, mismatched socks and unkempt hair).
The new $8 Forget-Me-Not Win Some Rouge Some Creme Blush from Flower Beauty — yup, Drew Barrymore’s new makeup line — takes care of that.
I use my fingers to apply a few swipes of the pale peachy pink matte cream blush, which dries to a powder finish, on the apples of my cheeks, and like that! — it flips a switch, transforming me from an exhausted cautionary tale into one of those vibrant smiling women who stops to buy flowers, flirts with the newsstand guy and pets puppies in parks.
For an enhanced effect, just add one or two layers. It behaves well on top of bare skin, foundation and even powder.
Oh, one more thing — a powder blush dusted on top really keeps this blush around, extending its wear time from 3-4 hours to 4-5.
When I wear Forget-Me-Not on its own, I do have to make sure to bring it with me for a touch-up after lunch. Good thing the dainty 0.14-ounce pot easily fits in my already jam-packed makeup bag. 🙂
PRICE: $8
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Walmart stores and walmart.com

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

P.S. YES! WE MADE IT! I think we should probably dance or something…because it’s been a long, long week.

oooh! Love your hi-low vacay glam look here! Sonia K, Flower and Tom Ford go so well together. OK I am all for Drew Barrymore’s new makeup line. She has always been an adventurous glam/ girl next door beauty icon and she rocks all kinds of looks, so it kinda makes sense to me that she has a no-animal testing affordable makeup line. Only problem is- no Walmart near me! I will have to check out the line when I go traveling…

Hi Lorraine,
I have to cross a bridge to get to the closest one! There’s one in my hometown, though, so next time I see my mom and dad I plan to zip by and check out more stuff. There’s some blush/bronzer duos that look really interesting.
If you come across anything from the line in your travels please let me know. 🙂

I recently heard about her new cosmetic line, but haven’t got the chance to try of the products, yet. By the way, the blush looks lovely, but the name is so looooong.

Hi Joyce,
I don’t mind the long names at all, especially when they’re very clever.
Happy Friday to you!

Happy Friday!
It’s a really soft, pretty color but even with a powder on top, the wear time (lack of) would be killer for me.
And speaking of killer, I finally finished The Walking Dead. Now I’ll be lining up with the rest of the folks in anticipation of Season 4. 🙂

Hi Kim,
Happy Friday!
OMG. Okay, so NOW we can talk. The episode where Laura dies? I cry every single time I see it. 🙁 It’s my second favorite one next to TS-19, which is the episode in the first season where they go to the CDC. What are your fave parts of the series so far?
Kim says
I know it’s like Game of Thrones with people dropping left and right but I was blown away by that, too. I kept saying “well, maybe they can sew her up if they get her to Hershel…”. The Hubs was giving me a sympathetic “oh, that’s not happening” look while shaking his head. And for Carl to have to do it? And Rick’s reaction? Yeah, no way you have a heart and don’t cry over that! I’ve had a few of those moments but I think the tone was set when Rick came into the camp from Atlanta in season one and saw Carl and Laurie and they realize they’ve found each other (he’s not dead). I get choked up, just thinking of it. 🙂 I actually really like the whole show and was yelling at the TV “oh, NO… you had better NOT kill Glen!!!” I wasn’t particularly keen on the rough patch between him and Maggie but I have a soft spot for both of them. And, OMG, I know these guys are henchmen but, when the Governor massacres everyone on the road… do you NOT realize it’s time to get rid of him? Newsflash, guys. He’s not going to get any saner!! Sorry, this is very long. I could go on and on about the show!! 🙂

Sigh. This looks nice (though much lighter applied than it looks in the pan), but why oh why must the packaging me GINORMOUS. It looks like there’s about an inch of useless plastic at the base. Bad for my makeup drawer, bad for the environment.

I want to try Flower products, but I wish they weren’t exclusive to Walmart. There is one near me, but it’s not a place I normally go to. I wish they were sold at Ulta!

I want to try this brand but I cannot force myself to go to Walmart. I try to avoid that place as much as I possibly can. My hubby refuses to take me there too.

You look amazing in these pics!!! That updo is crazy elegant.
Jennifer says
OMG KAREN! I am DYING to try this line! Drew Barrymore is such a sweetie and the colors look so pretty on you!

I’m trying a few FLOWER products, but somehow neglected the cheeks. This looks fab! I just saw Drew Barrymore speak at LuckyFABB and she is so dang cool, I just want to be her.
