No, I didn’t pay too much attention to scents at that time! I had a tiny freebie bottle of Pleasures and I wore it to special events and weddings and such. Other than that, I would wear lavender water from Crabtree & Evelyn.

Although it was around that time that I happened upon a Guerlain counter and fell in love with Vol de Nuit! I couldn’t afford it at the time, but my friend bought me a tiny bottle on her trip to France, and I wore that sparingly. I think it was ‘97 when I finally made my own trip to Paris (with Hubby) and bought my first full-sized bottle of perfume, Vol de Nuit, at the Guerlain store on the Champs Elysees! Talk about fragrance-triggered memories!

Oh boy! I always thought of Macy’s as shu-shu-fu-fu!

Man, I wore Pleasures OUT! I had both the lotion and the spray!

Did you ever go through a Tresor phase? It seems like all the fragrance hounds I knew during the 90s went through one at some point in time.

It was funny actually, the Estee Lauder counter lady seemed kind of embarassed and disdainful at the same time! She said, That’s in the signature collection, and Macy’s doesn’t carry those. You’ll have to look at the “higher end” stores!

I liked Pleasures too!

Funny that you mention that you didn’t see it at Macy’s… I noticed that, too. There’s a perfume and a lotion of the scent. Both are fabulous. I tend to like Estee Lauder perfumes, though. I wore “Pleasures” for most of the late 90s and “Beyond Paradise” is still one of my favorites.

That’s so sweet! I bet it smelled amazing all day! I haven’t sniffed Tuberose Gardenia yet, I tried, but the Estee Lauder counter at Macy’s didn’t have it. I’m going to look for it next time I’m at Nordstrom!
