The Dior Summer 2015 Collection Dior Addict Lipsticks ($33 each, available in four shades) are aptly named.
Because they are deliciously addictive. 🙂
I usually like to swap out the lip products I keep in my purse every few days (’cause I crave variety), but the two Dior Addicts I’m wearing here are the only two lipsticks I’ve carried around consistently this past month.
Two of four Dior Addict Lipsticks in the Dior Summer 2015 Tie Dye Collection, they’re available now at Dior counters and online. I’ve been bouncing back and forth between 001 Red Bliss and 005 Fuchsia Utopia (the others are 002 Coral Trip and 006 Nude Fever).
“Dior Addict is back this summer with a brand new two-tone version: four fresh and bright shades featuring the emblematic Dior logo in a contrasting colour at the center. In a single sweep, shades and textures intertwine to recreate a subtle tie dye effect on the lips.”

Like Tootsie Pops, each of these lipsticks has a surprise inside. There are two colors within each bullet, and they mix together as you slick one across your lips.
Why am I addicted to Dior Addict? Let me count the ways…
- The fantastic formula… It’s remarkable just how moisturizing these are considering the lightweight formula. Within a couple hours of applying either of these shades my normally dry lips feel less like cheese graters. Like the Zella sweatpants of sheer lipsticks, they feel fantastic! The smooth, virtually weightless formula feels almost like a silky lip balm or a luxurious lip butter.
- Extremely user-friendly… I usually apply them directly from the tube without a mirror. You have a lot of leeway with these because they’re sheer, and if you take one a little beyond the edge of your lips, no big deal. I usually reapply after meals, or every two hours, and I actually look forward to the feel of these gliding across my lips. The light vanilla flavor and scent is yummy, too.
- Sheer, but not too sheer… Sometimes with sheer lipsticks, if you have pigmented lips like I do, your natural lip color overpowers the pigment, and it can look like you aren’t wearing anything at all. That’s totally not the case with these Dior Addict Lipsticks. They contain a healthy serving of pigment, and the colors apply evenly and smoothly. I’d call them medium coverage.
For me, these are right up there with the top performers in the medium-coverage lipstick category alongside the fantastic $20 MAC Huggable Lip Colours, which look similar but have a slightly thicker formula, and the fabulous $50 Tom Ford Lip Color Sheers, which are a smidgen more pigmented but waaay more expensive.
By no means are these exactly budget, ’cause hello! — they’re Dior — but for medium-coverage high-end lipsticks, I think they’re absolutely perfect.
In this look I’m also wearing…
Eyes — MAC Brownluxe Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow, MAC Costa Riche Eye Kohl, MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot
Lashes — Estee Lauder, Chanel
Cheeks — NARS Dual Intensity Blush in Frenzy, Tom Ford Gold Dust Bronzer
Brows — MAC Brun Eyeshadow, Bobbi Brown Mahogany Natural Brow Shaper
Face — Dior Diorskin Nude Air Serum in 040, NARS All Day Luminous in Stromboli, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Medium Tan, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Biscuit
Top — Anthropologie (no longer available)
Earrings — Kate Spade (no longer available)
Pair one of these with a summery golden brown smokey eye if you’re in the mood for a bold eyes/nude lips combo, or use one as your weekend brunch color like I do. Slick a little on your lips, then add your minimal makeup essentials — a BB cream, under-eye concealer, mascara and a touch of cream blush. Throw your hair up into a fun bun, then add hoops, a white tee and your cutest cut offs. 🙂
PRICE: $33 each, available in four shades

I play with these every time I hit the counter. They’re so beautiful! I like Red Bliss but there’s a nude one that I’m DYING to have. It was so soft and pretty. One of those nudes that doesn’t feel like you’re trying too hard. I have to get it the next time I trek out there

These look beautiful, and I am on the hunt for a nice balmy, not-too-thick lipstick! Do you know if/when they would become available at Sephora?
Angela says
Also, could someone please tell me how to add my picture to my comments??

These are beautiful! I’m completely in love with Dior Addict Gloss in Paradise and it’s been hard for me to reach for anything else lately. So, I’m definitely prejudiced *for* Dior. 🙂 And I find even the gloss lasts for hours.

I hate it when you find something you love that’s expensive! I’m pretty happy with Fresh and Revlon butters for sheer moisturizing lip colors but these are tuggin’ my heart strings!
Kiss & Make-up says
Oh it looks nice, I like it! Definitely a formula that I’d like.

These sound perfect for summer. Fuchsia Utopia is really tempting me.

I have the nude and the coral and they are just amazing.
Yes it is pricey BUT so so nice, a must have for the summer.

As a fellow cheese grater lip sufferer, I am intrigued!

Seriously, girl, I feel your pain! I’m all about that lip balm life. I found the best one by the way! It’s the one by Nuxe in the pot. Have you tried it? It’s amazing!
Daniela says
I have never tried a Dior lipstick but maybe now… I love the Fuchsia Utopia (what a great name!) and your description of weekend brunch color.
Karen says
Hi Daniela,
They have some very pretty lipsticks. Have you tried the MAC Huggables? These are kind of like those.
Happy Thursday!

They sound great, but I don’t use sheer lipsticks too often.

Ya know, I didn’t used to either, but I find that when the weather is warm and I don’t want to wear a ton of makeup, the sheer lipsticks (and really, this one’s more of a medium coverage) look with minimal makeup.
Jessica says
$33 for a lipstick? Nope.
You can really rock that yellow!
Karen says
Thanks! Highlighter yellow isn’t a color that I wear often but I’m getting more into it.
Hope you are having a nice day!

I’ve been debating getting one of these for a while. I’m tempted by the nude one, but I’m afraid it might be too sheer to justify the price tag? I haven’t had a chance to swatch them but I think I should try to.
Karen says
I totally get what you’re saying. The great thing about these is that they’re sheer but not overly sheer. More like a medium coverage! So you get a good amount of color without it looking super opaque, but it’s still easy to apply. I think that you’ll find yourself reaching for it a lot. I have a feeling I’m going to wear mine down to a nub!

I NEED THESE IN MY LIFE !
Chelsea says
Do these have a scent? They look lovely!
I adore your top. Yellow is one of my favorite colors in summer. I had a Jessica Simpson sundress that color a summer or two ago.
Karen says
Hi Chelsea,
These have a barely-there vanilla scent and flavor. It’s pleasant and not too in your face.
Chelsea says
Okay, cool. I can’t deal with florals on my lips (Damn you Chanel!!)
Gloria says
Hi Karen! These do look very summery and I don’t remember the older formula has any kind of scent. Was it just for these 4?
How do you compare these with I ran decay revolutionary?
I saw you mention NUXE lip balm. Do you mean the yellow range with honey? ( can’t remember these French names, seriously) I have been using NUXE balm for a while and I prefer them over l’occitane’s. They offer same good quality , if not better, but more affordable and smell nicer. 🙂
