Check out the tapered tip at the end of the brush on Dior’s new Diorshow Brow Styler Gel ($29). I’ve never seen a brow gel like this before.
The whole design is very futuristic. It has a click brush applicator, and when you twist the bottom of the pen, the brow gel comes out from the sides. Then you just run the brush through your brows to shape, tame and polish them.
It’s so very Bladerunner! Of course, in the not-too-distant future when we have robots for mundane tasks like filling in our brows, things like this will be rendered irrelevant…so we must get our brow thrills while we can. 🙂
So I was thrilled to try this doohickey on Raul (also known as “the bald spot in my left brow”).
Buuut, I think that maybe my brow gel bar is set way too high, or I’m getting to that point where I need extra-strength, extra-intense brow gel for drag queens, because this didn’t really do much for me… I tried the darkest shade, #003 Brown (it’s also available in Transparent #001 and Blonde #002), and my brows didn’t really look much darker or less unruly.
They looked glossy and felt soft, which was cool, but the main reason I reach for brow gels is to, ya know, transform the tumbleweed-covered wasteland happening above my eyes into a Cara Delevingne brow situation.
And that didn’t happen.
Diorshow Brow Styler Gel might be better for lords and ladies with a bushy brow situation (lucky you!) to highlight what they already have. If you’re interested, it’s available now online and at Dior counters.
PRICE: $29
AVAILABILITY: New in the permanent line and available now in three shades online and at Dior counters
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: C (doesn’t really do much for me; probably better if you have bushier brows)

My brows are quite unruly and need a super strong brow gel for keeping brow hair in place. Can’t see much difference in your brows too, very slightly better..

Ahh too bad! I have the transparent version and I actually like it! I use it to set a few hairs that droop down a little and it works that way but you are right, it’s not the super strong type of brow gel.

Bushy browed broad here! I wonder if it’d work for me…

Bummer. I’m a bushy haired broad. Not sure if this would work for me either. Looking at the brush one would have high hopes.

The brush looks like one of those microscope photos of a virus.
Um…. well that’s what came to mind. I’m sure it is awesome! 🙂

Yeah, I was going to say (forgive me) that I didn’t notice a difference in the pics. 🙁 I’m envious of the bushy browed gals, too.
Kids… do NOT over-tweeze. When you get old, you’ll wish you had more brow hair to work with. 🙂

OMG. I will never forgive the ’90s. 🙁 That’s when I did most of my brow damage! I should’ve just left well enough alone.

I can’t see any visible difference in the before/after picture… Too bad because that brush looked cool!
Karen says
Yeah, it’s one of those minimalist brow products.

You are right, it doesnt do much in terms of covering up sparse areas…
Karen says
Super minimalist brows, yup!
LindaLibraLoca says
I am not one for the minimalistic approach when it comes to makeup.

I thought your eyebrows look slightly fuller before you used this product. :\
