Hourglass Prodigy Lip Gloss in Heroine on lips
The girls of summer are here! Meet the two new chicas joining the Hourglass Prodigy Lip Gloss line, a sheer pink called Heroine and her sheer beige sister, Ingenue ($26 each).
Both of these girls live up to Prodigy line with a hydrating, non-sticky, unscented and unflavored texture and light, natural-looking shine. I get about 90 minutes of wear time with them before having to reapply.
If you are/were a fan of the now defunct Chanel Aqualumieres (RIP!), you might like these a lot as I think they look and feel quite similar.

Prodigy glosses don’t pack a heavy color punch, and these are probably some of the sheerest I’ve tried from the line. Both delicate shades look almost transparent on my pigmented lips, so I’ll probably end up using these more to add a kiss of shine atop lip liners and lipsticks than by themselves; however, if your pucker’s less pigmented than mine, they should pack more pop.
The price-to-pigment ratio isn’t great here. You don’t get much color for the money, but I think they do feel great on my lips. And the sleek, skinny packaging slips discretely into the pockets of my fave pair of J Brand 811 jeans (which are like denim from heaven for shorties), and that’s a big plus. They’re also free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates and synthetic fragrances, yea! 🙂
PRICE: $26 each

i’m with you. my lips are much too pigmented for these to do much more than add some shine to my lips.

I am extremely pale (pretty much transparent) so I’m guessing Heroine will look neon pink on me and Ingenue will look poop brown. Am I allowed to say poop? Anyway I’ve seen so many good things about Hourglass that I really want to try them, especially their eyeshadow duos!

Hmm, maybe I should have said Nutella brown instead…

by the way, if anyone was a dedicated Aqualumiere fan, Chanel just launched their new lipstick “Rouge Coco Sheer”, which in my cosmetics-department-stoe-employee eyes, is basically their replacement to the slowly diminishing Aqualumiere line.
Though myself, I like glosses better, so i might have to check these Hourglass Prodigy ones out. Somehow I don’t mind when lipgloss has a short wear time, but it annoys me when it is a lipstick. The new Rouge Coco Sheers are comfortable and sheer and pretty and lovely feeling, but, as a sheer lipstick, they wear off fast, which annoys me too much to spend the money.

Karen you look stunning on your pictures ! Your face is absolutely flawless. What are you using in terms of foundation concealer and primer, you must have changed something. You look so fresh ! Thank you.

If you want more pigment from Hourglass glosses, you *have* to try the Extreme Sheen stuff. Oh, man. I don’t think I’ve ever met a lip gloss that was so worth the money.
Incidentally–most Hourglass stuff is worth what you pay. I’m addicted to their eyeshadow duos and the Veil foundation!
