Wearing Korres Cheek Butter in Chara Crimson
Flaky at breakfast, equal parts dry and oily by lunch, and then it’s “Welcome to Shine Central” by dinner.
My cheeks are so fickle! (How fickle are they?)
They’re fickle like a teenage girl (been there, done that). Thankfully, unlike parents who just don’t understand, my pot of Korres Cheek Butter in Chara Crimson ($25) totally gets my moody skin.
We hit it off when we met for swatches at Sephora a couple weeks back. It was just me, Chara and the other two available shades. They were so thick and creamy, and packed with pigment to spare, that it didn’t take long to tell there was something special about these.
We even started hanging out. 🙂
Berry pink Chara Crimson, the darkest of the three shades, really appeals to my lazy side. All it takes is a couple swipes to apply and blend it on my cheeks, but that’s not even the coolest part. I also love how it latches on to my skin and won’t let go for nothin’, lasting all day long without emphasizing any dry patches, flakes, pores or fine lines.
Whether I wear it by itself on bare skin or atop tinted moisturizer or liquid foundation, Chara Crimson always pinches my cheeks, so to speak, but in a way that still looks natural (no clown cheeks here).
It’s gotta be the shine.
Maybe that’s the secret sauce. It’s super subtle — just the quietest hint of a glow — but I think it’s why the finish looks so natural.

What else can you tell me about the Korres Cheek Butters?
- Well, they’re new to the Korres permanent makeup line, and they’re available in three shades — Philia Rose (a warm pink), Eros Coral (a rosy pink) and Chara Crimson (a berry pink).
- I’ve heard light-skinned lasses rave about the way Philia Rose works with their skin tone.
- The line likes a wide range of skin tones and types, and wears well without emphasizing imperfections like flakes, pores and fine lines.
- They’re a little pricey at $25 for a 0.21-ounce pot (which fits in the palm of my hand), but a little goes a long way.
PRICE: $25 each

Yoda’s stunt double, I am
I got a late start this morning because of Yoda… Or actually because I stayed up late last night watching a reality show on SyFy called Hollywood Treasures.
It’s kinda like Antiques Roadshow for movie memorabilia.
Not that I need another reality TV show in my life, but this one’s interesting! Last night the hosts auctioned off the actual Yoda puppet that the actors from Star Wars Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back used to practice their lines.
As well as one of the real prop Mockingjay pins from The Hunger Games.
Isn’t that cool?
The hosts are also very knowledgeable about movies, and you know how much I love my fun facts. 🙂
Like, last night I learned the difference between movie props and set pieces. I guess props are things actually handled or featured in a film, like a piece of glassware from the Hunger Games that we see Katniss holding in a scene, versus set pieces, which are just part of the background.
Props are generally more valuable than set pieces.
The show is on Tuesday nights at 10, if you’re interested. I’m setting my Tivo to record it, but we’ll see if it actually listens… My Tivo has a knack for only recording programs that I have absolutely no interest in watching, LOL!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. I hope your hump day went well. See you in the morning.

I’m excited about these! I’m really loving Eros Coral and Chara Crimson. So glad they seem to be working on your skin. Mine can be kinda all over the place as well, so I’m confident these will work for me as well. 🙂

Huh, I’m super surprised that you got this one to last all day on you–I might have to go back and play around with these a little more. I just did a quick swatch on my hand last time I was at Sephora and thought it was so creamy, no way would it last on my oily skin. Maybe I was wrong!

lol I swatched Chara on my inner arm at sephora and that thing would not come off until I had a good scrub in the shower. It’s just possible it may stick really well on your skin. Mine is combination and even so Chara does tend to stay on my cheeks until I clean it off

I’m such a fiend for cream blushes, and I was checking these out the other day.

These cream blushes look so nice! I’m curious though, can they be used as a multi-purpose product, like on lips as well as cheeks? I’ve never tried anything from Korres but seeing your blog post has definitely convinced me that I need one of those cheek butters in my life (:
“hollywood treasures” sounds so interesting! I think I’m going to have to check it out, I love fun facts too lol.
