This leading lady is worthy of a summer tentpole film and a handful of Oscar nominations. Maybe even a sleeper hit that takes Sundance by storm, or a blockbuster rom-com opposite a foppish Brit boy with floppy hair and nice arms. 🙂
This Starlet has some serious stage presence. Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Starlet has that certain something I like, that “it” factor that pushes it ahead of so many sweet and summery coral ingenues.
Admittedly, I rarely meet a coral I don’t love or like, and Starlet is no exception. But it differs from most coral shades in that it also leans pink, depending on the light, to showcase more of its rich pink salmon side in the shade and a cherry blossom pink in full sun. It also has subtle opalescent shimmer, which elevates its production value from indie film to Hollywood big budget.
I was so excited to try Starlet the day I brought it home that I actually painted my toes with it in the middle of the night in almost pitch-black darkness before settling down to watch one of our generation’s most esteemed films, Step Brothers (“This is a house of learn-ed doctors”), and passing out on the couch.
Not really being able to see what I was doing because I didn’t want to turn on the lights, I expected to have to re-paint my toes the following morning.
Nope. Turns out I didn’t have to. To my surprise, my toes looked nearly perfect, because Starlet is smooove…
You could be painting your toes with one eye half open in the dark, and there’s a decent chance your pedi would turn out alright. 🙂
If you like wearing coral on your tips and toes but have a hard time with orangey versions, Starlet could be something to seriously think about. It’s limited edition, so if you love it, you may want to spring soon.

We’re halfway there!
This week’s just chugging along, and I’m SO glad.
How was your day? Mine wasn’t bad. It definitely went by quickly. The only thing I did outside of work work was head down to Blue Barn in Corte Madera to have lunch with a friend, Courtney, and that was fun. It was sunny, so we got to eat outside.
What are you up to tonight? Tabs and I are just chillin’ at home.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Love this color – and I might have to get it! How does it compare to Chanel Morning Rose? That is the only other Chanel polish I have, and I love it.

Such a great summery shade! I kinda regret not asking for that shade now, lol! The great thing about this shade is that it’s not that bright, but slightly muted, and the shimmers, loooooove!

I’m always afraid of coral colors because my skin is much lighter than yours. This is a pretty color but what about skin tone?

Coral shades look great on pale girls.

When I saw your pic earlier this week (of the bottle), I literally gasped and thought “how did I miss this?”. Turns out it was because I don’t do Instagram. 🙂 My 2nd thought was “please don’t do a full on review of this or, if you do, please let it be really streaky and awful”. Obs this didn’t turn out the way I’d hoped. Now I’ll have to add it to my list of Chanel must-haves. Three’s a charm. 🙂

I have been looking forever for a replacement for my beloved morning rose…how similar would you say the colors are?
