So, I collect a lot of things. Like, right now I’m collecting broken ballpoint pens, apparently. LOL! I have six of them on my desk, and NONE OF THEM WORK. I just need to throw them away…
I don’t know what my problem is. I think I might be a hoarder in training…
Actually, I know I am, and I have to fight the urge to hoard daily, but that’s another story for another time! AHEM.
I also collect pencils… Chanel eyeliner pencils, that is. And if you don’t know about the Stylo Yeux line, allow me to rock your world. I believe they are, dare I say it, the best high-end liners around.
Stylo Yeux is Chanel’s line of skinny twist-up waterproof pencils, and the basic black shade from the permanent line, 88 Noir Intense, is my go-to black liner and all-time fave.
Seriously, I could write a book of sonnets about it, and some of the LE shades are also epic, like Noir Petrole and Legendary Green.
The Spring-Summer 2018 Collection introduces a gorgeous $33 LE green called Mare-Chiaro, which is a borough in Naples, Italy (thanks, Interwebz!), Chanel Global Creative Makeup and Color Designer Lucia Pica’s hometown.
It isn’t as dark as Legendary Green. In fact, now that I think about it, it’s borderline teal. It also has yellow, shimmer and a hint of blue in it (if you look closely).
There are so many things I love about the Stylo Yeux line, like how long they last on my lash and water lines. I also love how precise and tiny the tips are, because you can really get down in between the roots with them and draw extremely thin lines. They’re also truly waterproof.
I was wearing Mare-Chiaro while chopping an onion the other day during a test run of Connor’s yearly birthday lasagna (she turns two on Friday!)…
This onion was intent on making me cry a river of tears, and by the time I finished dicing it, I looked like I had just watched The Notebook.
Those tears were serious, OK!
But this eyeliner, which was on my water lines and lash lines, didn’t budge.
Some of the other colors are less resilient, though. With some of them, particularly the lighter LE shades, you really have to push them to maximum intensity on your water lines with lots of layers, but Mare-Chiaro is very pigmented. If I apply two layers, I’m good. Mare-Chiaro is smooth, doesn’t skip and doesn’t transfer into my crease when I blink.
Good stuff!
MAC has a similar color called Undercurrent in their Pearlglide line, by the way, but it isn’t approved for use on the water line (I think Mare-Chiaro just works better, too).
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

This is such a pretty green! The Stylo Yeux line is so good.

I love it so much. They’re the only liners that don’t ever bother my eyes (even the purple ones are OK!).
How’s your week been? Mine has been kicking my butt. lol

My wrists are just about better, so that’s good! I sprained them both weightlifting about two weeks ago. It’s been so hard to be motivated this week. The weather was really nice the past two days, 60 degrees, which gives you hope, but today we got freezing rain and snow!

So pretty!! Please tell me you’ll be reviewing the backtalk palette by UD. Just saw it on Insta and now I want it, because of course.

Greetings from stormy New Jersey! Winter ain’t over yet!
I love Chanel’s Stylo Waterproof eyeliners. I had Espresso and I forgot the name of the shade, but it was a brownish-grey that was part of a holiday set. They definitely stay on for a long time.
So, can’t believe tomorrow is Connor’s 2nd birthday. I hope you are ready for the “terrible twos”. They were not that bad. Zack turns 17 tomorrow and has his driving test in the morning. Send us good vibes!! I know he’ll be fine, I may not be.
Anyway, bought my very first Hourglass product the other day. I got the Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush. It is such a pretty shade, a bit pricey, but I feel like I don’t need a highlighter. It gives me enough glow. I maybhave to save some bucks and try other products.
Anyway, enoug for now. Have a great daybtomorrow with your birthday girl and give her a hug from me.

I had Undercurrent (it broke a while back) and loved it to pieces, but with the glitter never put it to my waterline. The model in the Chanel ad is wearing it on her water line though and it looks so gorgeous!

Were the tears because of the onion, or were they because Connor Claire is turning 2? 😉

Like all things Chanel, this is lovely. 🙂 I have yet to pick up a Stylo Yeux but it’s on my list. I wonder what color I’ll get. Such a mystery. HAHA! I have always disliked twist up pencils (for liner and eyebrows). I find them so waxy. I’m sure that won’t be the case with Stylo Yeux.
I had to run into Sephora this week (we only have the JC Penney store within a store) and it was the first time I’d been in. I really need to stay away. I was so glad I was there for some work samples, otherwise I’d have bought like 10 things for myself – most of them in the infernal bullpen before the register. They are evil geniuses. I wanted to pick up products that I already had! HAHA! But, the reason I’m telling you this is because I was going to try a new BB cream/foundation. I know, shocking. I was really disappointed that nothing I wanted had sunscreen. There were a couple of SKUs from Becca and NARS. They do always label it on the package if there’s an SPF rating, don’t they? I have to investigate but thought you might know off-hand.

I love Chanel Stylo Yeux liners.
I never thought to do a test run of any dish. I’d just do it and wing and see what happens. My thought has always been, “We can order pizza if this tastes like crud”. But that lasagna though! Oh my goodness it looks delish! Are you willing to share the recipe?
