Oh, boy. I’m in trouble now, because Chanel Glossimer lipgloss has got me feining.
Save me, holy ghost.

Myriade is my fave of the three. I paired it with MAC lipstick in Dubonnet.

Mad Crazy Big Hearts for:
Color. The sparkle factor is high on these glosses. It’s very grown-up glitter though! I love looking at the color and seeing the different flecks of gold, silver, pink and green.
Texture. Glossimers are thick but aren’t as sticky as MAC Lipglass. You can still feel them on your lip, unlike other thin lipglosses.
Packaging. I love looking at the cap and seeing those gold interlocking C’s. It feels very luxurious.
Little Itty-Bitty Hearts for:
Price. Yeah, it’s an arm and a leg: $25.00 for each. I know, I know.
Limited edition-ness. I really wanted to get the shade that Paris raved about, Astral #104, but unfortunately it’s a limited edition and the counter was out! I almost cried. My wallet sighed in relief.
Are you a Chanel addict? Can you remember your first hit? What should I get next?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

omg splurge. look at those shiny glosses !! oh my, i’ll be too shy to wear it on a daily basis.

So gorgeous! I’m so glad you finally got your Chanel! You deserve it! Don’t you just love the texture of the gloss over lipstick? I only have Sundress (highly recommended) right now, but after Christmas (as soon as I’m done spending all my money on other people) more will be mine!
Should I even mention that they still have a shade called Astral on both the Chanel and Nordstrom websites?
November 21st, 2007 at 9:39 pm
Sassy, you crack me up. I like anyone who refers to themselves in third person.
November 21st, 2007 at 9:41 pm
It’s pretty sparkly, Ponikuta. I think though, if you go easy on the eyes you can get away with the sparkle for everyday use.
Also, you could probably get away with the lightest color, Galactic, in a corporate environment (just as long as it wasn’t a conservative law firm or something), if you paired it with a very gentle pink.
November 21st, 2007 at 9:42 pm
Ya had to go there, Glosslizard! AGGGGHHHH! I might have to go shopping for other people on the Nordstrom site and then mistakenly put another Glossimer in my cart. Whoops!
November 21st, 2007 at 9:51 pm
Oooooh you finally went to get them! I’m not too big on the colour though, is it as red as it looks?
November 21st, 2007 at 9:53 pm
Looks lovely - are they sheer or do they have good color pay off on their own?
November 21st, 2007 at 9:59 pm
Hey Irene, it’s purty red, but not super pigmented red like in the pic. The lipstick I used underneath, MAC’s Dubonnet, is a deep, don’t-mess-with-me red lipstick, which is why it looks so *BADA BOOM BAM* in that picture. Seriously, you can tone it down!
November 21st, 2007 at 10:03 pm
Hi Christine!
I haven’t tried them yet by themselves!
I’ve been all obsessed with layering lately so all this afternoon I played with different lipsticks: Viva Glam, Estee Lauder, and some L’Oreal. They do look super pigmented on your hand when you swatch them though. There’s glitter for days (but it’s good glitter!).
Dunno if they will feel good to you, because they aren’t sticky (I can recall you saying you liked the “stick” of Lipglasses)
P.S. I’m soooo unimipressed with Uppity.
November 21st, 2007 at 10:32 pm
OMG, Karen, I’m in love.
Myriade looks like a color I would SOOO wear. But I currently have Spark as my everyday red-stain gloss and it looks FIERCE over red-ish lipstick for a sexy shine. Other Chanel fave of mine is Seashell. It’s a lighter gloss like Galactic with peachy gold tones - gorgeous when I pair it with a gray smokey eye!
November 21st, 2007 at 10:34 pm
Why no love for Uppity? It makes a good wash of color on me!
November 21st, 2007 at 10:48 pm
Nilla, it’s an *amazing* color. When you go to the counter and swatch it on your hand you will LOVE it.
Now I have Glosslizard’s “Sundress” and your “Spark” and “Seashell” colors on my Glossimer list. CRAP, ya’ll!
By the way, I took a good looksie at the quads and I almost got Winter Nights! It took all my will power not to go crazy.
November 21st, 2007 at 10:51 pm
Hmmm, maybe that’s why I’m having problems with it. I’ve only used it so far as a straight up liner. It takes *forever* to build the gold color up enough to get a nice, defined line.
I will try it all over the lid tomorrow, with my new favorite brush: 239.
November 21st, 2007 at 11:01 pm
Ooo Girl, you’ve got some will power if you were able to resist the eyeshadow quad. Last time I was at the Chanel counter, I got suckered into buying the Camelias de Chanel lip palette. The flower imprint was so gorgeous and the SA was like, “There are only 2 left..” so I caved! It’s been 2 weeks and I still haven’t touched it. I dunno if I can control myself not to dive in, but I think I’d rather exchange it for Glossimers because you’ve inspired me, fo’ real yo!
November 21st, 2007 at 11:06 pm
I actually went by the Chanel counter today. Oh my, the pre-Christmas sale is going on and everyone was buying cosmetics mad. I couldn’t even squeeze myself near the counter. I might just try my luck tomorrow after work and snatch one myself.

I’m loving the Plum Lips set… and the Sundress Glossimer layered over the Culture Class lippie is out of this world!!! For a mellow look with the Chanel gloss with not too much sparkle, I like to layer it over a neutral lip pencil. The look is very pretty and understated without being too bare.
Oh… Winter Nights… how I love thee! Not sayin’ any more!
I think Coco Mademoiselle is a great choice for your Christmas list! That or the fragrance wardrobe!
Happy Thanksgiving, y’all!
November 22nd, 2007 at 11:35 am
I am actually obsessed with Chanel, so much so that I now work there!!
The bronzing powder is by far the best i have ever come across and then teint innocence compact foundation is amazingly light but still gives and totally flawless look! In fact everything is amazing you can’t go wrong!!!
November 23rd, 2007 at 10:18 am
I have 4 chanel glossimers and love them all, my favorite is hibiscus, though . i Love them by them selves or with lipstick . I love them i cant wait to get more.
November 23rd, 2007 at 3:21 pm
Hey Nilla,
I saw the Camelias set and was tempted, too … but then I saw how it looked like after it had been dug into at the counter and was like, um, no. It’s not as cute after it’s been used. Get thee some glossimers, girl!
Hope you had a good thanksgiving. How did your spread turn out?
November 23rd, 2007 at 3:22 pm
Yeah, everyone seems to go crazy at the mall this time of year, Ponikuta! I hope you got something cute (Astral, perhaps?)
November 23rd, 2007 at 3:23 pm
Hi Glosslizard!
Happy post Thanksgiving! Did you wear your plum lips to your turkey day celebration?
It’s looks like the Winter Nights quad is going on the Christmas list, too!
Enjoy your nice, loooong weekend!
November 23rd, 2007 at 3:24 pm
Wow, Holly! I’m so jealous that you get to be amougst amazing Chanel cosmetics all day long. I want to learn as much as I can about the color line! Email me your favorites sometime.
November 23rd, 2007 at 3:24 pm
Hi Zoe,
What do you usually pair with Hibiscus? I will have to check that one out, too!
November 23rd, 2007 at 8:06 pm
Yeah, I wore the Culture Class with the Sundress and a light Winter Nights eye! Perfect for a casual dinner with family! Today I wore the Ultra Madame and it was such a lovely everyday color on me! Happy Glosslizard!
I hope the pie turned out great!
November 23rd, 2007 at 8:59 pm
It did! I wanted to take a pic of it but it got eaten, ha!
OHHHH that look sounds pretty! (Winter Nights quad … *drools*) Did you brave the mall today?
November 24th, 2007 at 8:33 am
I didn’t! Did you? We have family in town from Seattle so we took all the kids to the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito! Perfect weather for it!
Seriously though, I’m getting so addicted to Winter Nights, I may end up buying another one just so I don’t run out after the holidays! I sure hope they bring it back again next year or add it to their permanent line! It’s so versatile and classy! I’m now moving on to lusting after the Teint Innocence foundation (haven’t decided between the liquid or the compact yet) and a Chanel blush! Hmmmm, there’s a blush in the palette……
November 24th, 2007 at 12:24 pm
Glosslizard,
Deffinately deffinately go for the teint innocence compact, i have had both and the compact is 100 times better, the only problem with it is that it sells so well that we often run out of it!
I use it every day and it never cloggs my skin or feels greasy which i have found to be a problem with the liquid!
hope that helps!

November 24th, 2007 at 3:01 pm
Ooh, thanks, Holly! Good to know! I do have very dry skin though, do you think that would make a difference?
November 24th, 2007 at 3:40 pm
Hey Karen,
I actually live and work in England so im not 100% sure if our ranges and names etc are the same as yours in the states but i will check with my manager who is the font of all Chanel related knowledge! I am actually off on a training day next week so may come back with some exciting new product news!!

Hey Glosslizard,
my skin is actually quite dry in patches too and it has never been a problem at all its a really lovely smooth creamy texture so it has been perfect for my dry patches it actually fells quite moisturising.
I also always found that if i wore foundation every day in the past when i used Benefit products my face would tend to break out in spots or dry patches and for the past year or so that i have been using the compact it has completely stopped! I also use a really fine layer the powder universal compact over the top which just sets it perfectly!

Whoa, glowing praise indeed! I’m so getting that compact! Thanks for sharing, Holly! I’ll look forward to your Chanel updates!
November 25th, 2007 at 10:14 am
Woooooow, you guys are gonna put me in the poorhouse with all this crazy Chanel talk! Now I’m lemming the Teint Innocence compact too.
Holly, can’t wait to get the skinny on the new Chanel stuff!
November 25th, 2007 at 1:37 pm
I’ll be in the poor house with you… but at least we’ll look fabulous, dahling!
November 25th, 2007 at 1:39 pm
it could be worse you could have to pay the UK prices!! thank god for my discount!!!
November 25th, 2007 at 7:24 pm
DISCOUNT! Holly utters the magic words, lol!
Sigh, maybe I should go work for Chanel, too!
December 7th, 2007 at 6:55 pm
omggg are those your lips??? thats like magazine ad material
those look awesome but i could NEVER pull gloss AND glitter like that…
have you guys tried the Double Rouge Intensité??? it’s the double ended lipstick that WONT COME OFF! it’s awesome and definitely worth the money!
December 8th, 2007 at 9:28 pm
Hi Trisha,
Thanks for the recommendation. All you wonderful readers are feeding my Chanel fire. Does the Double Rouge Intensite dry your lips out though? I haven’t had much success with long wear lippies.
And yup, those are my lips! I totally glammed up the gloss and glitter in that pic; you can easily tone it down for day wear. You gotta get the Glossimer in Galactic, at least! It’s very beautiful in person.
February 16th, 2008 at 11:41 pm
Hi Miss Karen!
Soooo….I forgot to report back to you on the Chanel Glossimer that I purchased after I phoned you frantically from the Nordstrom counter
Galactic is pretty much sold out EVERYWHERE, but I did manage to get MYRIADE, and I love love love LOVE it. Sometimes I wonder if it’s a little too much for daily use at the office, but heck - everyone needs a little sparkle in their daily lives, right? Anyway. Another product you may want to try is the Dior Addict lip plumper…not as pretty as a Chanel glitter pout, but very ooh la la sexxy too!
