No Need for a Night Light Around the New Chanel Eastern Light Le Vernis Nail Colour

Wearing three coats of the new Chanel Eastern Light Le Vernis Nail Colour ($30), one of two limited edition shades from the new Hong Kong collection, available now at select Chanel boutiques and online at chanel.com

I can see how opaque white nail polish could be a little off-putting in a “Whoa! That’s one too many toe rings!” kind of way.

But when they’re done right, I think they’re go-go girl chic.

If you’re open to the idea, what do you think of Chanel’s new Eastern Light Le Vernis Nail Colour?

It’s a creamy winter white with a high-gloss, mirror-like shine that sets it apart from your everyday drugstore white nail polish.

Wowza, Eastern Light is almost bright enough to read by. Doesn’t it look like it’s glowing? I could totally see Lady Gaga wearing it on stage and gripping the microphone with her eyes closed as she belts out the bridge to You and I.

WARNING: the shade does require some work to wear. I need three coats for that full-on Whiteout effect (did you ever do those when you were a kid?), and those three coats can take an hour to dry.

You know what they say, though. Patience is a virtue. :)

And then there’s the price: $30…

I wish it came with something extra, perhaps a holographic effect or secret shimmer.

I don’t know… I think maybe Jade, Western Light and Vendetta ruined me for other Chanel colors.

If you’re a DCS (Dedicated Chanel Stalker) with a healthy dose of patience, or just a big fan of white polishes on your tips and toes, Eastern Light may turn you on.

PRICE: $30

This polish is very pretty though. I don’t have patience for the dry time though, sigh…it would just end up all smeared.

  3. I’ve always loved the look of a simple white nail polish. This is definitely the best one I’ve seen though–it’s not flat or chalky or streaky. Really really well done!

Wow really!? It takes an hour to dry!? You’d think that for a high end brand like Chanel they’d be able to develop polish well enough that it’d be much faster drying!

Thank U 4 the great review :) It looks lovely but for 30 dollars needing 3 coats I think it is not worth it…I am very happy with my new Taboo and waiting 4 the Western Light I ordered from chanel.com . xo, Elsa
