Benefit’s Benetint and Posietint are getting a sassy little sister! ChaChaTint ($29), the newest kid on the Benefit lip and cheek stain block, doesn’t dance across counters until June 1, but here’s a sneak peek at this coral cutie.
ChaChaTint looks quite bold unblended, but rubbed into my cheeks it delivers a light mango flush with just a hint of shine (less than a shimmer).
On the lips, it’s a different story, one worthy of CAPS and exclamations!! When I paint a layer on my pucker and just leave it there to dry, the color totally POPS! I think I might try adding a layer of Benefit Ultra Shine Spiked Punch Lip Gloss or perhaps a little MAC Viva Glam Cyndi on top (just for fun).
Fun Facts about Benefit Tint — 10 million bottles of Benetint have been sold in over 35 countries since its initial release back in 1977. Today, Benefit sells one every minute (they’ve probably sold about two of them while you’ve been reading). Their second tint, Posietint, has only been around since 2008.
Unscented, unflavored ChaChaTint won’t be sashaying down drugstore beauty aisles any time soon as it’s kinda pricey, but on the positive side — it arrives in time for summer! 🙂 I’ve been dying to see a coral liquid blush from the line for a while.

PRICE: $29
AVAILABILITY: Available June 1 at Benefit stores, counters and also online; also available for a one day only on May 13 on the Home Shopping Network

What’s your style?
I’ve been sitting not-so-patiently on a Nordstrom gift certificate since Christmas, trying to figure out what to do with it. My first instinct is always to get makeup (duh), but I think my wardrobe needs more help. Over the past year or so I’ve devolved into a very unstylish state.
Browsing the Nordstrom website the other day, I saw something rather cool. They offer a free personal stylist service (yes, free!). I wondered if it could be the answer to my Pajama Jean prayers, aka my fashion-challenged purgatory.
Appointments can be made by phone or email. Your personal stylist will guide you through your options, likes and dislikes to help you find some new clothes. I have an appointment this afternoon, so I’ll let you know what it’s like.
Seriously, when your cat deems you unworthy to walk him in public because you’re wearing sweats with holes in the bottom, it’s time for outside help.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
Aging_Beauty says
Hi hon;
So this is creamy like Posey Tint, not like Benetint? I love the shade!
Karen says
Yup, it’s creamy like PosieTint. 🙂
25FLONDON says
Ah, a coral tint! I’m getting so bored of red-based stains, & pink to a lesser extent. I love the look of this shade on you!
It reminds me a little of Hourglass Aura Cheek Stain in Petal 😀
Karen says
Oh, it kinda does. What do you think of the Aura Cheek Stains?
Jessi (Lacquered, Painted, Polished) says
ChaChaTint is gorgeous but I’m not sure I would get enough use out of it to make the $29 worth it to me. Do you think it would look too bright orange on reaaaaaally pale, cool skin tones? I guess I’ll just have to wait until it comes out and swatch it.
I hope you appointment goes well. A personal stylist would be my worst career choice since I have absolutely no fashion sense whatsoever!
Karen says
Hi Jessie,
I think you can do it! You’d probably need just a drop or two, and then you’ll have to blend it in really well,
Nina says
you have given this sick gal something to look forward to! i <3 chachatint already, and i dont even own her yet!
Karen says
Hi Nina,
Sorry that you’re under the weather! Get better soon… and then treat yourself to some ChaChaTint. 🙂
Have those kitties give you some big hugs!
Nina says
anja heard you, i think. she slept on me as i slept on the recliner yesterday!
im back in the saddle, working hard to save some moolah for chachatint!
Karen says
How sweet. Kitties have healing powers! I’m convinced!
Terri says
Wow – that is gorgeous on you! Even though I don’t love using Benetint on my cheeks, I am definitely going to take a look at it the next time I’m at the Benefit counter.
I hope that the appointment with the personal stylist goes well and that you tell us all about it 😉
Karen says
Hi Terri!
You’ve got to try it on your lips… it’s fab.
How was your Monday? Good I hope.
Heidi says
I can’t wait for ChaCha Tint! I love Posie Tint, but the regular Benetint turns out way too fuschia on me and makes me look like I’ve come down with a bad case of rosacea!
That stylist service sounds great! Can’t wait to hear how it goes.
Karen says
Hi Heidi,
I heart Posie Tint too. Do you ever wear it on your lips?
The stylist service was actually really cool… I ended up with a beautiful purple dress and a gold belt (already have shoes to match).
Anywho, did you have a good Monday? I hope so!
Heidi says
Oh yeah, Posie Tint on the lips, with a bit of gloss on top is a great look.
I had a productive Monday. Got a bunch of stuff ready to mail out to collect donations for a fundraising event that I’m involved in to raise money for Habitat for Humanity as well as the Redwood Food Bank, so that feels good.
I also have an opportunity to make a little money coming up, which is desperately needed at this point. A man that I know through church is offering to pay me to help tutor him on basic computer skills. He’s not computer literate at all, but he’s had to get a computer since his vision is failing and he can no longer write. So, basically I just have to teach him about emailing, word processing, web surfing, things like that. It’s a special computer program for the visually impaired that he got recently, so I’m studying the manuals to help him get everything up and running. Should be an interesting challenge.
Karen says
That sounds like a good challenge. You’ll be able to help someone learn something new and make a little moolah… both good things! I bet you’re a great teacher. 🙂
Christy says
My boyfriend’s dad says I dress like an old hippie & I wear that badge proudly 🙂 I usually just go for comfy-casual.I recall you mentioning your wardrobe is mostly composed of surfer t-shirts and this is the same for me. I have a lot of Billabong, Fox & Roxy 🙂 Good luck with Nordies, I’m sure it will be great. Oh and keep us posted 🙂
Karen says
Roxy makes some cute tees! Have you ever heard of Honolua Surf Co? Love them!
http://www.honoluasurf.com/Default.asp
Rae says
Love how this looks on you! (For myself? Nah, not much of an orange gal.)
Hope the Nordie’s appointment goes well – I can’t wait to hear more about it!
Karen says
The Nordie’s appointment was very cool! I got a cute dress and a nice belt. 🙂
How was your Monday? Good, I hope!
Tiffany says
I must buy this! And I can’t wait to hear how your appt goes! Sounds awesome!
Karen says
I had a feeling you’d be ON this!!
The appointment was cool. The stylist picked out a few things I would’ve never thought to get for myself, but I ended up really liking them. Got a purple dress and a gold belt which I’m pretty stoked about. Slowly but surely I will no longer look like a teenage surfer boy (I HOPE!).
How are you and le baby doing? Are you taking time off of work?
Instant Karma (formerly L) says
AHHH, I want it! I already own Benetint and Posietint. I could definitely use another tint in my life. It looks great on you!
I had a doctor’s appointment today — two blocks away from a prime shopping area. I couldn’t go straight home, could I? After returning some products that didn’t work to Sephora (a little over $100 in store credit!), I decided to get Korres’ Liquid Lipstick in Red (I already have it in Raspberry) and the Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Blissful (since I really liked Natural Beauty) for “free.” Hey, if I’m not paying for it now, it’s free, right? I don’t need to think about the fact that I actually paid for this stuff months ago.
Then I went to the MAC store two doors down (seriously, how amazing/dangerous to my wallet is it that there’s just one store separating Sephora and MAC?), and exercised massive restraint, only buying eyeshadow in Gleam and blush in Fleur Power. Considering your earlier recommendation of the Cream Color Bases, I may have to go back. I wanted four of them and had to remove myself from the store before I bought them all!
After that, I bought two fabulous summer hats at Filene’s Basement (they were cheap, too) AND brought home a slice of amazingly decadent chocolate cake. Now I think it’s time to finish my cake and sit with Tigger. All in all, a very fun day 🙂
Karen says
Yes, you DO need another tint in your life! ChaCha needs to be with her sisters. 🙂
Okay, sounds like you had an AWESOME Monday. And I’m sure you’re not the only makeup fiend who goes directly from Sephora to MAC, LOL! When I shop at the MAC Pro Store in SF I always have to walk down the street to Sephora “just to look” (yeah right).
Sooo, tell me which Cream Color Bases you’re thinking about! I hope both Pearl and Hush are on the list.
Hope you’re having a lovely evening with Tigger and Gizmo… oh, and can I have some cake?
Instant Karma (formerly L) says
I know! I feel like I brought home a lot of fun stuff but I didn’t spend that much, so I don’t have the classic “I spent too much money on non-essentials” guilt, ha! As Charlie Sheen might say, I definitely won shopping yesterday. 😛
Yes, both of those are on the list! They were so gorgeous. I also really liked Improper Copper and one other, but I can’t remember its name right now.
There’s a bit of cake left for you! Luckily, it’s at the edge, which is where all the fudge icing and chocolate chips are :D.
Karen says
I remember trying Improper Copper years ago and liking it. I think I’ll have to revisit.
And oooh, I will so take that cake! 😀
Vijaya says
Ugh, benefit’s prices on cheek products just don’t seem to be at all in line with their pricing for other products. xP
Karen says
They last a long time, which is why I don’t mind the price for the product.
Stef Smith says
I might get it and use it as a lip tint, I’m a fair skinned girl and I think it might be a little much for blush. But you never know! I loves me some Benefit cheek tints!
Karen says
Yes, you never know! At first I thought Posietint was way too light for me but I actually really like it when it’s layered. Hopefully this color will surprise you, too.
mel says
You are too funny Karen with your Cat dissin you. I’m a fan of the color but I’m a shade darker than you, so I don’t know how much ‘glow’ I will be getting with it. Lovely just the same.
Karen says
Tabs is a hater, it’s true. Unless you’re fashion forward he doesn’t want to hang.
You could totally rock ChaChaTint, methinks! If you do two layers you’ll probably be good.
AtelierGal says
The blended product is gorgeous! I was just about to leave my coral phase behind and head pack to pinks.
Karen says
You can’t leave it coral behind with summer just around the corner! Hang in there… do it for ChaCha, LOL!
dani@callitbeauty says
LOOOVE this! i hope they come out with a mini version of this because i don’t ever see myself using it up and i hate to waste.
Karen says
Ooh, wouldn’t a kit of minis with ChaChaTint, Benetint and Posietint ROCK?
Shannon says
ho man. This and Bella Bamba are next up on my list of things to buy. I am LOVING the color!!
Can’t wait to hear about the personal stylist! I am SO dying for a new wardrobe right now…
Karen says
Hi Shannon,
Bella Bamba is one of my fave boxed blushes! Do you have Coralista yet? Please say yes.
The personal stylist appointment was cool. He pulled a few things that I would’ve NEVER thought to get for myself but ended up really liking.
Shannon says
I do have Coralista! Kudos go to my sister for giving it to me for Christmas. 🙂 I like it a lot, and now I have the Benefit box blush bug!
Tracy says
LOVE this! I can hardly wait for this to come out. I love using these in the summer. It looks so awesome on you!
Karen says
Thanks, Tracy! 🙂 I think it would look great on your lips. Add in some thick cat liner and you’ll be good to go.
Masrina says
Wow, very summer-ish. I love it already!
Karen says
You’ll love it even more in person. It’s a gorgeous color!
Masrina says
I know I will be! Your skin tone is really similar to mine, when it look good on you, I know it will look good on mine too.
Kisses for Tabs please!
Makeup Morsels says
I love this shade! It’s probably my favorite tint they’ve come out with so far, and the orange is so on-trend. Do tell about the personal stylist when you get back 🙂 I hope it goes well~
Karen says
You’re right… orange is so IN right now. I’m loving it. 🙂
ALEXUTZA says
That’s really beautiful! I need to put this one on my summer shopping list.
Karen says
Yes you do! I hope you love it. 🙂
MAUI says
this is great!!! i’ve always been a fan of benetint cuz it’s so natural on the skin. but this one is epic since i’m obsessed with anything pinky coral!
i must get this…..to replace my lost Virgin Isle cream colour base. i don’t have a MAC pro card so i cannot repurchase, grrrrr. the closest one i found was MUFE #9 lip & cheek creme
Karen says
GIRL, when did you go blonde? It looks so good on you!
Kate Williamson says
My Mom had a personal stylist appointment at Nordies and she loved it. I am thinking about doing it myself since I will be going back for a visit to San Francisco in June and I need a major wardrobe overhaul. Since moving to Hawaii four years ago, by wardrobe is sorely lacking. I don’t think my friends will recognize me! I don’t think I even own any close-toed shoes anymore. By the way, I love the Cha Cha Tint. I need to move away from the pinks and explore the world of coral.
Soo says
Cha Cha looks really nice on you!
also, I’m sorry if you’ve answered this before, but do you have a good remover for getting rid of staining products? I have like 5 different kinds of remover and none of them clean off stains–anywhere from eyeshadows applied wet to benetints–the way I’d like it to. do you have any recommendations?
Karen says
Hi Soo,
Sounds like you need a heavy duty remover. A few to check out:

Soo says
ah, I have actually seen these reviews and should’ve just looked them up. ^^;; thank you. I might try the Lancome or Bliss one!
Kat says
I’m soooooo excited! I’ve never been willing to plunk down the cash for Benetint or Posietint because I doubt I’d wear ’em much, but this is exactly my colour! My Project Pan should be (hopefully) done by then, this is such an incentive to use up those ignored products. It’s a shame this will be $30+ in Canada though. Why is everything more expensive up here? *sigh*
Kimmi says
YAYYYY go u Karen. Thanks for bringing this to the people first. I can’t wait to get my hands on it, even though I dislike coral colours hahaha
Kim says
This does look fab on you, and I love your top/hoodie/jacket. It has a stylish yet comfy vibe! 🙂 I don’t think the tints are for me. You’ll laugh, but won’t be surprised, that I have a hard time blending High Beam (or anything liquid, really). It’s sort of an odd beauty curse.
Ariana says
Karen I totally understand what you’re going through! I liked to pride myself in having one heck of a closet and I feel like lately (past 8 months or so) all I’ve done is buy make up! I’m going to try and pick up more clothes this spring/summer 🙂
Ruchita says
What a pretty color! Looks like a great color for spring/summer.
Georgia says
Hmm.. Looks like a liquid NARS Multiple Turks & Caicos Tint, no?
Marian says
That’s really pretty and looks gorgeous on your skin tone! I’m definately looking into this one! I wish it was out right now.
Cindy (Prime Beauty) says
Yay! I’ve waiting for-evah for a coral tint! Thx for the HSN tip–I will def take advantage.
I haven’t used the Nordstrom Personal Shopper but do know one of them from my local Nordy’s and she’s fab!! Coem to think of it, I’d like that job!
Have you tried your Nordstrom Beauty Stylist? It’s the same job but in the Cosmetics dept. and they pick colors and products just for you from ALL the lines! My beauty stylist is adorable!!
Karen says
Hi Cindy,
I’ve heard about that service! I haven’t tried it, but would like to soon. 🙂
amy says
I have always liked the idea of Benetints, but I always have a problem with it drying very fast and I don’t have a chance to blend it out properly.
Patricia says
Now, that got me really excited for I’ve always prefer coral shades much more than anything else. Am so gonna put this on my wishlist. Do you think the shade somehow resembles coralista? Thanks for sharing this, lovely!
Regards,
Patricia
Jen W says
Wow. just…. WOW.
Lisa says
I am DYING to know how it goes with the stylist. I myself, am style challenged. I looooove sweats (VS Pink are the best) and cannot accessorize to save my life. My sister who works at a bank is disgusted with me and forces me to dress up to go shopping with her. I spend thousands of dollars on makeup a year but can’t dress worth a darn. Maybe a stylist is the answer to my problem. And free is right up my alley!
Just for clarification, please tell me you didn’t actually buy the pajama jeans.
P.S. That Cha-Cha rocks!!!!
Arummmanis says
Hey Karen,
Is it easy to blend? How’s the texture? is it gel like or creamy?
arummmanis says
I was skeptical before about Cha Cha Tint. But after seeing this on your cheek, I want it. I have the original one and Posietint. Now I’m putting this on my list.
