I could not wait to review these new Benefit brow collection products! I’ve been teased and tortured by all the sneak peaks on social media, and y’all don’t even know the level of restraint it took for me to snap these pictures before tearing apart the packaging. 🙂
Benefit recently released these new-and-improved brow products, and I’m pretty sure there’s something here for everyone.
First up, there’s the Goof-Proof Brow Pencil.
I wanted to try the $24 Goof-Proof Brow Pencil first because it’s what I would typically use for my brows — a brow pencil. I like the ease of just doing a few swipes with a pencil and then blending it out with a spoolie.
The level of pigment surprised me! I mean, you definitely want to use a light hand when filling in your brows with Goof-Proof because this smooth, creamy pencil is no joke.
It’s flat and rectangular, unlike most brow pencils, and it took me a couple of tries to get used to the shape. But I like it. You can use the wider end to quickly fill in your brows or the thin edge to get more precise.
I still haven’t *quite* mastered it yet, but I love the pigmentation and the sturdy brush at the other end.
Although this is one of the softer brow pencils I’ve ever used, I haven’t had any issues with it fading throughout the day.
I tested these Benefit brow products over the course of a week or so, and here’s a quick snap of me trying Goof-Proof:
Next up is $24 3-D Browtones. I pretty much always wear some sort of brow gel because my brows are bushy as hell, and I need something to tame these bad boys! So, while brow gel isn’t new to me, I was really intrigued by 3-D Browtones, which is described as a subtle highlighting gel for brows.
I LOVE the idea of this. It’s like a brow highlighter to add a very subtle tint to your brows and soften them a bit.
After I fill in my brows with a brow pencil, my brows are DARK, so I love the look I can get once I add this brow gel. I think if you have dark, thick brows, you’ll really like using this to soften your look a little.
I’ve tried lighter brow gels in the past (MAC’s brow gel in “Boy/Girl” was a favorite), but the 3-D Browtones give a much more natural look because the gel is pretty thin — and I mean that in a good way.
And now, say hello to $24 Ka Brow! (the surprise hit of the collection).
I typically prefer brow pencils to brow creams, but Ka-Brow! is just REALLY good. Like, shockingly good.
It seems like the typical brow pomade, but it’s not. It’s actually a cream-gel that has an almost powdery finish, so it dramatically helps my brows stay in place after using it.
Oh, and did I mention that it’s waterproof and meant to last for 24 hours? I didn’t test that claim, but I can say that I’ve worn Ka-Brow! through a full workday and a barre workout, and my brows were still in place.
Plus, the tiny brush that comes in the handle (genius, btw!) makes it so easy to apply this sparingly. I never thought I’d find a brow pomade that would work with my thick brows, but this one does. I love how chiseled (but still natural) my brows look after using it.
Last up, we have the $32 Brow Zings.
Benefit’s Brow Zings come with a mini-tweezers, a dual-sided brow brush, brow wax and brow powder (which are covered by a clear plastic sheet that’s labeled). I gotta admit that I’m pretty unfamiliar with brow wax/powder duos, so the little illustration on the back of the box is super helpful.
I use the angled brush (the little brushes above are actually one folded in half, so they’re much easier to maneuver than you might guess) to trace around my brows with the wax. Then I use the flat brush to fill in my brows with the powder.
I find that this creates the softest look of all of the products here because the brow powder is a true brown, and my hair is black. The brushes and the products make it so easy to create a very natural-looking brow. That being said, I recommend this more for thinner brows, because if you have thick eyebrows, it just isn’t necessary to fill them in with powder…unless, of course, that’s your thing.
Here are swatches of everything:
Overall, I’m very impressed with the Benefit brow collection, and there are actually several more products available on the Benefit website! I have the dark brown shade in all of the products shown here, but most of the products come in six shades, so there’s a jet black option and several lighter shades as well. I’ll be reaching for Goof-Proof Brow Pencil, 3-D Browtones and Ka-Brow! (in that order) the most.
What do you use to tame your brows?

Think I love everything about this post because I’ve seen a tutorial or two on YT raving about at least one of these. I’m a die-hard brow pencil gal & MAC’s brow pencil in Spiked is my ride or die. I’ve been growing my brows out for months now & don’t plan to get them threaded until maybe the end of this year. Fingers crossed! Definitely in need of a brow gel that can tame my little mustaches 🙂

Have you used the Benefit brow products? If so, which color did you get? MAC’s brow pencil in Spiked is my perfect color too and I wanted to try Benefit’s products, but not sure which one would be the best match? Thanks!

Hey, I haven’t used a Benefit brow product in awhile, as in years. I bought a brow pomade from them a few years back that I didn’t enjoy, & I’ve been rolling with MAC’s brow pencil in Spiked ever since. I’ve been tempted to try a brow pencil from ABH & I’ve tried a brow pencil from Maybelline but I always come back to old faithful. Spiked is my ride or die. ☺️

I am DYING to give these a try!

Definitely everything one needs to tame those brows and for varying needs! Great!

Ooh! These look interesting. I think I need to update my brow game… I’ve just been using nars pro prime lightly and Mac’s brun eyeshadow to fill and shape- but I recently discovered a Mac brow gel I misplaced a while back and I think it helps get the look I want. Definitely giving the gel and pomade a try once they hit stores. Your brows are amazing, and I love your simple and classy makeup looks. You are stunning!

I prefer a combination of pencil and gel at the moment. I really love the names and designs of these products.

My brows are pretty easy to tame, so I don’t need anything strong. I might try some just for fun though.

The goof proof eye pencil looks like the one created by It Cosmetics (one of my faves).
I’m disapointed that with the release of this collection they did not include products in a taupe shade, everything is too Brown for me 🙁

I saw snippets of these products a month or two ago when they were launched during a private event in Las Vegas. So excited they’re finally available to purchase!

I really wish people would come out with shiny brow products. My brows are naturally shiny so when I fill them in they get more powdery looking. I think it looks fake, on me anyhow.

That is so weird, I FEEL THE EXACT SAME WAY I’ve never heard anyone else say it before, lol! I think Smashbox has a glossy brow product, I want to go to Ulta and swatch it now…
Nicole says
I have to try this line! Your brows look great!

Boy, I’d like to try some of this but yet again Benefit has forgotten the whole redheaded segment of the population!

I saw them tease this brow launch on Instagram, I think it may have been an ad, and I about died. I think it’s the only ad I’ve ever cared about on Instagram! The only bummer is, I’m on a no buy. So I’m making do with reading everyone’s reviews!
yelena says
oooh thanks for the review. I am pretty faithful to my current brow products but I have been curious about the new Benefit products. I saw these in store but didn’t get a chance to play with them and swatch them.
but can we talk about the makeup you’re wearing in the last picture wearing benefit brow zing?
