Technology… It’s fascinating, really. Not only does it allow mere mortals to soar across the sky in what are essentially huge hunks of metal machinery; it also allows us to simultaneously prime and protect the delicate skin on our lids.
Next stop: Skynet. 🙂
I think it’s kind of funny that the box new Benefit Air Patrol BB Cream Eyelid Primer comes in says that it helps “defend against environmental stress,” when really, what I need help with is internal stress.
Haha, just kidding. Sort of…
Benefit’s new yellowy beige hybrid BB cream/eyeshadow primer comes in a click pen and contains moisturizing shea butter and broad-spectrum SPF 20, which makes it kind of interesting. It’s one of those kitchen sink products in that it does a little bit of everything that primers sometimes do — smoothing lids for makeup, locking products into place and evening out discolorations.
How does it stack up to my jam of all jammy jams, NARS Pro-Prime? Let’s find out… 🙂
Air Patrol is available now online and at Benefit counters (as of September 1, 2015).

Thank you for comparing the primer to Nars, which is also my favorite. I couldn’t help but notice your nail polish, it’s so pretty! What brand and color is it? I’m crossing my fingers it’s a sephora formula x polish, those last the longest on my nails. I can’t remember if you’ve reviewed those yet…if you haven’t tried them already, I highly recommend them.

Hi Melissa,
It’s Essie’s In the Lobby from the fall 2015 collection. I LOVE IT! I wore it with a base and top coat last week and got minimal chips on the tips for 5 days, then a big chip on the 6th day. Usually dark polishes chip on me within 2-3 days so this one was great. Very sturdy.

If it protects against external stress, does that also mean stupid people and train delays??
Karen says
Haha! Or how about rude people who cut you off on the freeway?
Jessica says
I don’t drive, I take the subway…which has a whoooole other set of …. “external stressors”! LOL

How would you compare it to Urban Decay’s eye primer? That’s been my go-to for years now.
Karen says
Hi Kristen,
I’d say it’s comparable in terms of wear time. I think Benefit’s is easier to work with for blending though.

So how DOES it compare to Nars? I’m running low on my HG Nars and am thinking of taking a walk over to Sephora on my lunch hour – was going to restock the Nars, but maybe I’ll get this if my dinky Burlingame Sephora has it.
Karen says
Hi Georgia,
I get into that in more detail in the video. Just press play! 🙂
Georgia says
Ah! I see now after watching the video. I’ll probably skip this one as I don’t generally like Benefit products and that tough-to-remove cap would drive me bonkers.
Now do tell us what’s on your lips? That color is GORGEOUS!
Karen says
OH! I’m so obsessed with that color at the moment! It’s Everybody’s Talking by MAC from the new Vamplify lipgloss collection. The entire collection is REALLY great, but that’s one of the standout shades. 🙂

I could use a lot of help with external stress, especially co-workers and early wakeup calls.

Love the thorough comparison! I need to restock dye priner, but I’ll stick with the NARS, which is also my favorite.
