Pop the champagne, homegirl! — and if you can do it with a sword, more power to you, because that would mean you’re only about two degrees away from Michonne-level bad-@ssery, and I’D BOW DOWN!
We have a totes legit reason to celebrate today. First, because it’s Tuesday, and Tuesdays are terrific. 🙂 And second, because BECCA has several sparkly, shimmery sets on deck for the holidays, and they’re all available now, so you can get dat glow on your cheeks in time for the office party. (For the record, if there will be karaoke involved, please know that it may take more than two glasses to turn you into Mariah Carey… Yes, I speak from firsthand experience.)
This year’s holiday collection includes three limited edition sets, and they’re all about the glow — in other words, skin highlighted to high heaven.
If you’re a die-hard BECCA shimmer fan, you might want to get your paws on the $34 Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Champagne Glow Palette highlighter trio. It’s available now exclusively at Sephora and the Sephora website.
One of the three shades, pale linen Pearl, is a limited edition shade making its debut right here in this palette, while the other two — Champagne Pop, a soft gold with pinkish peach undertones (the shame shade BECCA released last fall with YouTuber Jaclyn Hill); and Blushed Copper, a warm copper with rose gold (also appeared earlier this year).
I feel like I’ve been raving about BECCA’s Shimmering Skin Perfectors since the dawn of time because these shimmery, pigmented pressed powders are oh, so flexible. Depending on how disco you feel on any given day, you can either wear them for a soft sheen or a full-blown mirror-like highlighter shine.
Like all Shimmering Skin Perfectors, the ones in this palette should be treated gently, and by gently I mean that you’ll want to wrap this palette in bubble wrap and rubber bands if you ever bring it with you on trips, because these silky soft powders tend to crumble easily.
Incidentally, the three shades here are all on the warm side, so if you like the way you look in warm golds, coppers and peachy tones, you’ll probably like these, too.
If you’re completely new to BECCA, you might, however, want to try the Afterglow Palette ($42) instead, with its five bestselling BECCA products.
I’ve been wearing this one a lot lately, mostly ’cause it has two of my favorite BECCA Mineral Blushes of all time — matte peachy nude Wild Honey and shimmery golden peach Flowerchild (LOVE).
They blend like creamy peanut butter and last all day, but you’ll want to apply them with a small-sized face brush (I like the MAC 109), because the 0.056-oz. pans don’t have a lot of room for swiping.
Same goes for the three highlighters in the palette — Moonstone (the pale gold), Rose Gold (the soft rosy gold) and Topaz (the golden bronzed pearl). I use a tapered eyeshadow brush with them.
Afterglow is an Ulta exclusive, and you can find it now at Ulta stores and their website.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a BECCA holiday party without Opal!
This shade… Ah! It’s close, personal fave, and I’m happy to see it in here in the $20 Opal Glow on the Go Kit (available now at select Sephora and Ulta stores, and also online).
This golden opalescent pearl is the most wearable of the Shimmering Skin Perfector shades for me. It looks like candlelight on the skin, and if you want dewy, almost glossy, cheekbones, it’s the way to go. The kit comes with two different versions of it, too — a liquid and a powder — and both of them are sized for travel.
I think highlighting fans are really gonna like this one.
Lots more info in the video at the top, and as always, thank you for watching. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

It’s just as well that the five-pan After Glow Palette is exclusive to Ulta, which doesn’t ship to Canada. One less thing to be tempted by! (However, it’s a shame!)
Karen says
The good thing is you can find all those shades in the permanent line. 🙂
Carolyn says
I’ve actually seen the Afterglow Palette on the Bay website in Canada. I don’t think it’s hit the counters yet but they should be getting it.
Kathy says
Where in Canada did you see it? Thanks
Carolyn says
Hi Kathy, I saw it on the Hudson Bay site a few weeks ago but it’s gone now. I’ve been touch with the counter manager at my local Bay store and she said she’s expecting it at the counter next week. If you’re from Canada I would call your closest store that carries Becca

The Afterglow palette looks really good, with a mix of textures and colors. I like it!
Karen says
It definitely has a great mix!

Champagne Glow and After Glow are so pretty! I’ve never used Becca makeup before, but these are speaking to me right now. How are they with quality? Do you think they’re worth the price?
Amanda says
I’ve heard everyone say Becca was a little expensive, but have never heard anyone say they weren’t worth it. Their products truly are beautiful! As for the pressed highlighters, a little goes a long way so they’ll last and last!
LindaLibraLoca says
I have never tried to pop Champagne with a sword. Maybe next time this year, when I´ll actually get to drink some?
Agata says
My ex husband did it two years in a row. It worked great, I have a video of it somewhere!
LindaLibraLoca says
Quite a daredevil, hm? Where did he get the sword from?
Emmy says
Whoa! Too pretty to pass! <3

I got the Afterglow palette and brought it home, used it and ordered a backup right away. I think it is my favorite Holiday purchase to date if we are considering the ones I will use the most because I love me some quality highlighters and these fit the bill. To top it off, the blushes are gorgeous! I just ordered the palette with Pearl,CP, and Blushed Copper yesterday! I’m pretty excited for it. Hoping the pans a are a little bigger in that one though!
Nicole says
Oh duh, just noticed your video! You have a comparison right there on the front screen! They look like bigger pans…yeah!
Kiss & Make-up says
The Afterglow palette is soooooo pretty! Would NOT mind finding that under the Christmas tree 🙂 The way you describe the texture of the Skin Perfectors sounds interesting. Too bad they’re so delicate. That is NOT good news for someone as clumsy as me, lol.
Ashleigh says
I’ve been debating between these two Becca palettes for awhile, so this was really helpful! I went ahead and bought the Jaclyn Hill collab, but now I’m probably going to pick up Afterglow as well >_< I don't know whether to be thanking you or shaking a paw at you, haha <3
Agata says
I am really tempted to get the Afterglow palette. I have never tried Becca blushes and that would be a perfect way to try them. Opal is still my favorite highlighter!
Vanessa C says
I am obsessed with BECCA’s Shimmering Skin Perfectors! I started off with Opal after trying it out at a Sephora foundation class, and then purchased Champagne Pop out of my love for Jaclyn Hill. I saw the Champagne Glow palette up for release and I have been itching to get it. I may pass (gasp!) and get the Afterglow, as I have been wanting to try the Mineral Blushes and Topaz. I don’t own any other powder highlighters, and I’m not sure if I want to – BECCA’s products are just THAT good! I find them so natural, but know I can glow to be seen from space if needed, by layering over Benefit’s Watt’s Up!
Thanks for the review Karen 🙂
Maddie says
These are pretty, but I’m going to wait until next spring when the pressed version of Pearl is released individually.
kellly says
Totally off the subject, but I’m sure Tabs has brought to your attention that tomorrow is NATIONAL CAT DAY.
Sandy P says
Noticed the Becca palettes last week while in Ulta. May have to take a closer look ??
Arianne says
Oh my! I think I’ll have to seek out an Ulta while in SF and pick up that Afterglow palette! 🙂 Sarah has her eye on that one.
Lauren says
I need the afterglow pallette, and the highlighting pallette as a gift for my mom…WHY did I move to a country where there is no Ultra or Sephora?! 🙁 🙁
Jane says
I am not much for highlighters, however, I just went to my local Lord & Taylor for Charity Day. It is the one time you can get 15% off cosmetics. I usually stock up on my skin care and other items that need replenishment. I finally purchased Bobbi Brown’s Brightening Finishing Powder in Nude. I wanted something to put on after my foundation, but my skin is dry. This will help because it has some great ingredients and it has a bit of shimmer to give my skin a brightening glow. I will have to let you know whether this is true.
Erin says
I’m loving it all but I gotta work through my liquid Becca stuff!
Illy Junus says
Thank you for the review, since i want to own becca cosmetics
