Take a bow, Dior, because that performance was right en pointe!
“Bow,” as in Dior’s new Cherie Bow collection, and “en pointe” as in Rose Ballerine #724, the second of two new $61 5-Coueleurs Eyeshadow quints in the release (the other is Rose Charmeuse #854).
Eyes take center stage with the quint’s shimmery pink, peach, beige and taupe shades, which brighten my lids without putting my fine lines under a spotlight.
I get a big kick out of choreographing looks with these nuanced shades, but I do have to be careful not to go overboard with my blending, as the differences among these delicate, subtle colors can be difficult to discern on my medium-toned tan.
For more distinction between the shades, I’ll apply them with a wet eyeshadow brush, which coaxes out more pigment from the colors.
The palette and other pieces in the new Cherie Bow collection pirouette onto Dior counters this spring. If you’re looking for a palette with ethereal, shimmery pastels to perform beautiful routines on your lids, don’t miss Rose Ballerine.
PRICE: $61
AVAILABILITY: Coming soon to Dior counters and dior.com
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: B (lovely colors, but they are quite subtle, and $61 isn’t cheap)
Next stop: Chanel!
Not Dior related, but if you plan to be in San Francisco this Friday or Saturday, and/or happen to be a railroad enthusiast (LOL!), see if you can swing by Union Square.
To fire fans up about their new super-sized (and super expensive) 6.8-ounce No. 5 Eau de Parfum Spray ($205) and new No. 5 Bath Soap ($65), Chanel is taking a reconstructed SF Cable Car and turning it into an experience!
Toot, toot! Check out the new Chanel No. 5 Trolley. Enter the car to learn about the famous fragrance’s fabulous history while you imagine riding the rails…
As a fellow celebrity, Tabs wonders if Brad Pitt will be on hand, scruffy beard and all.
Probably not, but still. Sounds pretty cool, and I bet it’ll smell great, too. 🙂
The trolley stops in front of Macy’s on Geary Street in Union Square Park, December 14-15, from noon to 3:30 p.m. Open to the public and free.

I’ve been kind of in love with silver and pink as an eye shadow combo lately. I haven’t done my makeup yet today (yeah, I know it’s late) so my I’ll do that.

LOVE that taupe and all the gorgeous shades…which is why I’m surprised that I like the other one much more. At least on you…

Oh dear, I really think I need Rose Ballerine or the Bow clutch you pictured yesterday. Yikes they are expensive though!

After you posted the incredible look that you created with the other palette (and hot pink shadow!), I have to say that I prefer Rose Charmeuse. 🙂

I like the other quint, but will probably give this one a miss.

This seems a bit too shimmery for my taste, although I like the light colors since I’m very fair. Most of these shades look like they could be duped with my Nude ‘Tude palette…
