- These two new highlighting palettes are bound for the MAC permanent line, and each has three powder highlighters boasting a formula that I’m pretty sure I haven’t seen from MAC before…
- They’re $39.50 each and coming February 15th to all the usual MAC haunts.
- Get It Glowing is all about golden bronze, and Flash + Awe lives for rose gold.
- These look exactly like the MAC In Extra Dimension Highlighters on my skin. They’re high-beam headlight highlighters with a flattering opalescent shine, and they feel like a BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Powder.
- Essentially, they’re MAC in a BECCA body. They feel a lot like the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Powders and look similar on skin. They have that same practical pearly finish that you can dial up to full-tilt frost, or dial down for a subtler glow.
- While similar to BECCA’s beauties, these feel considerably softer and creamier, which is incredible, because BECCA’s Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Powders have been some of the softest, creamiest powder highlighter on the block for years.
The Hyper Reals feel a little springy and spongy to the touch, and when you press a finger into a pan, it actually leaves a fingerprint behind (!).
- The packaging reminds me of the long, slim cardboard MAC Girls eyeshadow palettes… I’m not crazy about it, actually. I hope they replace it soon, because the powders feel delicate, and I’m pretty sure they’ll break easily. A few hard knocks inside a makeup bag, and I suspect they’ll shatter.
- I thought these might be hard to wear because of how frosty they look in the pans, but once they’re blended, all I see is a soft, pearly highlight, even around the smile lines near my eyes. That’s good stuff! 🙂
- Girl, these are a GO! (Just don’t drop them.)

*sobs* why can’t they just bring back the HyperReal FOUNDATION ?

Omg, i stalked them on twitter and asked them myself. It is THE ONLY foundation I have ever worn that was like wow. I cant find anything I like to save my life.

I’ve done that before to other MU companies, too: “WHERE IS _____?!” And every time I go into MAC, I can gauge how long the person has worked for the company when I drop the name and they know and empathize with me. It was the most satisfying makeup product I have ever used. Not even illuminating drops or whatever added to a decent foundation would work. There was something iridescent but not obnoxious about Hyperreal. Glad I’m not alone in my longing!

These sound great! I have to tell you, because it was such a dodo move. I was scrolling and reading this post and came to the first pic of the products in the pan. I only saw the top of the pic and didn’t immediately realize it was a MIRROR and thought “wow, they’re doing blue highlighter?”. Oh, my. Thank goodness it’s the end of the work day. HAHA!

These look nice. Surprised it took MAC so long to make a highlighting palette. I love my Extra Dimension highlighters but I have way too many to really justify buying more. Not sure if that will stop me from picking these up though, lol

Wow, these look lovely and just in time, too. I’m finally reaching the end of my soft and gentle (I thought I’d have that thing forever when I first got it) and now the debate, do I stick with what I like? Or try something new? I don’t like the packaging of it either, but I wouldn’t opt to travel with it and it should stay safe in my make up case. Hmmm, still gotta think about it.

Believe it or not, I don’t own a single highlighter. These just might tempt me.
Your makeup is beautiful in these photos. What color eyeshadow are you wearing?
LindaLibraLoca says
Oh, they really do look amazing, even for someone not that much into highlighting!
