Have you heard of 43 Things? It’s a Web site where people make lists of 43 goals they want to achieve — learning French, building a better mouse trap, reading War and Peace, etc. It’s pretty fun to read the different hopes and dreams that people have.
I’ve been in a contemplative mood all weekend. When I haven’t been stuffing myself beyond maximum capacity, I’ve been thinking about all of the things I’m thankful for.
So, what happens when you think about what you’re thankful for while staring at your makeup for too long? Well, the Makeup and Beauty Blog version of 43 Things, of course.
Here’s my list of 43 makeup and beauty things I’m thankful for this year!

Love your list, Karen! And I’m thankful that you shared it with us! Especially the Wet Ones Wipes tip!
I’m also thankful for Chanel Glossimers (who isn’t thankful for this?!) and Hydramax moisturizer, Philosophy’s Microdelivery Peel, Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliners, and Vera Wang Parfum. 🙂
Karen says
Hey Nilla,
The Wet Ones Wipes really make brush cleaning so much easier. I like to clean my brushes when I’m watching TV at night, ha!
Oh, I like Vera Wang perfume, too. Sheer Veil is my fave. 🙂
Divine Blackness says
OMG, I totally love 43 Things. I’ve been on there for about a year and it has been really instrumental in helping me achieve some goals. It’s fab!
I too am grateful for MAC Pro. It’s like heaven.
Karen says
Hey Divine Blackness,
Congrats on achieving your goals. It really does help to see it them in print!
Mac Pro is amazing. I think I’m going to pop by my local Pro and free-standing stores this Friday. Stylistics is gonna be out, and I don’t know if I’ll be able to resist!
TUPRNUT says
Hey!
Thanks so much for sharing the list! I’m new to your blog & it was so nice to see many of your favs all packed into one list.
I went to the MAC counter yesterday to pick up a few things I’ve run out of… it took all of my self-control to not buy many of your favs.
Oh, one product I’m thankful for: the complete Dr. Wexler Acnostat line. It’s saving my skin!
Christine says
Wow, what a list. I don’t think I could come up with 43 product smyself!
Karen says
Girlfriend, I know you could work the MAC list, for sure.
Good luck on all of your finals! 🙂
Karen says
Hi TUPRNUT!
I gotta go to the MAC counter soon to buy some more concealer and a few Technakohls. I have to say, if I were to triage all my MAC faves then I’d suggest not passing up Lychee Luxe, Soba and the Technakohl liners.
I’ve heard good things about the Dr. Wexler line. I watched a segment on it on QVC (confession time! I like watching those beauty segments on QVC!) and some of her products seem pretty cool.
Megan says
Karen,
I have to say I’m thankful for your blog…because I have learned some new tips and products that make my life easier. DEFINITELY in love with the wet ones. I also picked up the Clinique pink truffle quad which rocks my world. I used the Neutrogena body wash after a hair product broke out my neck. I have also dabbled with some Max factor 2000 calorie…and have started to possibly accept that I don’t have to be addicted to Diorshow. I’m also thankful for Clinique Moisture Surge Extra, Tarte Cheek stain (I don’t remember my color…), Fragrances – Versace Crystal Noir and Ferragamo Incanto dream, My hairdresser Laura who I cannot live without, and the general existence of eyeliner and Mascara which I think are the beauty products I am most addicted to. 🙂
TUPRNUT says
“I gotta go to the MAC counter soon”… I think I say this at least once a week. I just get a look from my hubby. My makeup cabinet is overflowing, but I still have a need for a fix.
I looked up the products you mentioned… may need to get to Macy’s soon to look at Lychee Luxe & Soba… they look beautiful. Yeah, I’m a Technakohl liner junkie. I’ve tried so many other brands and have finally found one worth commiting to.
I have to say how glad I am to have found your blog. It’s so nice to get feedback on products before I go out and spend a chunk of change on something I’m going to regret. Thanks for what you do. Keep on keeping on!!

WOW!
I bet your makeup collection is AMAZING!
Have a good week, girl!
Karen says
Hey Megan,
I am glad that you dig the blog and that it helps you! Hearing that it helps other folks always makes my day. (So sorry about your neck break out! It’s alarming, I know!)
And ha, I agree – thank ye gods for mascara and eyeliner. I’d be screwed without ’em!
Karen says
Hi Tuprnut,
I’m glad you enjoy the blog! (And that I can enable your MAC addiction, ha!)
Seriously, pick up a pan of Soba. You can use it for so many things – an easy, day time eye (I use it in the crease with Shroom all over the lid), a smokey eye, or even on it’s own if you are in a hurry and just need a little something.
I want EVERY Technakohl color!
I♥M·A·C says
Awww thank u girl, I swear my make-up is exploding outta those huge Sterilite Drawers too now, it’s insanity!!!!
Karen says
Oh my, I love MAC. How many drawers do you have? I have three Sterilite Drawers so far. I have a coupon for JoAnne’s art store so I think I’m going to go in and get a few more.
I looked at drawers and hutches this weekend cause it’s a little out of control, LOL!
