How’s it going, ladies? Happy Saturday. 🙂 Today’s Saturday Surfing begins with a PG-13 story about a very naughty tabby cat. His name is Tabs, and he’s been on my sh*t list since last night.
In a brazen attempt to eat Sushi for dinner (our pet betta fish), Tabs used the air mattress I’ve been sleeping on since my in-laws arrived last week as a springboard, leaping from it to the top of the hutch upon which sits Sushi’s bowl.
Within seconds, Tabs was poised to strike, his claw raised above the bowl, the poor fish likely trembling next to his plastic water lily.
I was quick enough to save Sushi’s life, but the air mattress wasn’t so lucky. Poor thing was punctured by kitty claws… I tried to patch them with duct tape, but when I awoke this morning it was totally flat, with me basically sleeping on the ground. Yup, good times…
Hopefully today’s Saturday Surfing helps me work the kinks out of my back. Grab your board, and keep me company, okay?

How do you manage to keep that fish safe, though?? Is early early Sunday morning here…spent yesterday veggie shopping and working 🙁
Karen says
Usually we keep everything far enough so that he can’t jump up there. It’s also very high.
Nina says
Have a great weekend, Karen!
I am liking that song btw. Were staying home … totally lazy, lowkey weekend in this household!
Karen says
Lazy weekends are the best! How’s your Sunday shaping up so far?

Tabs! I’m shocked! Poor Sushi.
My cat Chicken was constantly knocking over vases full of flowers trying to drink the water in them. Big fresh bowl on the floor, but the water in the vase was somehow tastier. It would get that I could hear even it when I was dead alseep…CRASH! She was chubby too. Her belly used to sway side to side when she ran. Oh Chicken, now I miss her!
Karen says
Aww, Tabs’ belly swings back and forth when he runs down the stairs. 🙂

I’m glad Tabs wasn’t able to complete his nefarious plot against Sushi, although you can’t blame him too much since he’s hard-wired to do that kind of thing naturally. We have 2 dwarf aquatic frogs and we have to take the top of the aquarium to feed them. OMG, both cats will leap up and practically dive in if I don’t fend ’em off! Even with the top on, they will both come sit on it and stare down into the water with great longing in their eyes. I’m sure the froggies would benefit from Xanax to cope with their predatory siblings oogling them every day.
Karen says
I’m glad he wasn’t able to, either. I’m pretty sure his little kitty brain is now currently working out a new plan that he’ll try to execute when I’m not looking, LOL!
How’s your weekend been?
