Neve Cosmetics, eh?
Neve is the Italian word for snow, and while any other day I’d start by telling you all about the beautiful reason behind this name, today I can’t associate anything positive to any form of water falling from the sky.
This is because it’s been raining for two awful weeks, and my meteoropathic self can’t take it anymore.
If you follow my blog, then you’ll know that it all started with me evoking an ancient curse and triggering the wrath of the gods, so I shouldn’t really complain, since this horrible weather is all my fault (*goes to cry in the corner*).
Instead of moaning, I should focus on the flowers in my metaphorical garden, just as Karen taught me. 🙂
Neve Cosmetics definitely adds many flowers to my garden, including this adorable rose blush and the inspiring philosophy behind the brand… They think that, just like snowflakes, all people are different and beautiful in their own unique way, and I personally share the same view. I believe that makeup should enhance your natural beauty, rather than mask it.
The Turin-based company also adds flowers to the lives of many by supporting nonprofits that help humans and animals alike, and all of their products are cruelty-free and free of silicones, parabens and petroleum products.
I haven’t tried many of their products, but everything I have tried I love, so I definitely want to explore their range more in the future.
My current favorites are…
Neve Cosmetics Blush Garden in Tuesday Rose (€10.90/$12)
One of Neve’s most recent releases, this cute little rose belongs to the Blush Garden, a collection of seven cream blushes, one for each day of the week. Tuesday Rose is a pretty coral pink that gives me the ultimate springy flush. It blends easily and is impressively long-lasting, even on my oily skin.
Neve Cosmetics Pastello Occhi – Natural Eyeliner in Avorio/Beige (€4.80/$5.30)
I don’t really wear nude liner on the waterline because it makes me resemble a horror movie doll, and I don’t think it suits my eye size and shape, so the way I like to use the Pastello Occhi in Avorio/Beige is to line the lashline on top of a dark brown or burgundy shadow whenever I’m in the mood for something different. Sometimes I’ll also use it to highlight the inner corner of the eye or the brow bone.
Neve Cosmetics Pastello Labbra – Natural Lipcolor in Peperoncino/Scarlet (€4.80/$5.30)
Being formulated to be used all over the lips, the Pastello Labbra in Peperoncino/Scarlet glides on super easily and doesn’t feel drying at all. I have to touch it up after meals, but it doesn’t bleed, nor smudge. Its orange-red hue is one I adore and reach for all the time in the warmer months.
Neve Cosmetics Elegantissimi Palette (€26.80/$29.60)
Elegantissimi (= very elegant) are the looks you’ll achieve by using these 10 neutral eyeshadows that have either a matte or satin finish. This is the palette to reach for when you want to look put together, but not overly done.
The eyeshadows are easy to blend and, despite being silicone-free, they won’t fail you no matter the occasion.
The other day I wore them for nine hours (on top of NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base), and they didn’t show any signs of creasing. The only negative I can find is that they are a smidgen powdery, but as long as you don’t overload your brush you’ll be fine. I normally experience very minor to no fallout at all.
Neve Cosmetics Flatbuki (€11.90/$13.10) and Contour Brush (€12.90/$14.20)
Neve Cosmetics also makes a pretty wide range of cruelty-free brushes. I’ve had my Flatbuki and Contour Brush for years, and they still look the same as they did when I bought them. They wash well and don’t shed.
Densely packed but incredibly soft, the flat-top kabuki is great to apply both powder or liquid foundation and to pat on setting powder without moving any concealer you may have previously applied. The Contour Brush is my go-to brush whenever I’m working with sheerer blushes.
If you live within the European Union, you can order these and many more fabulous products on nevecosmetics.it, or if you hail from faraway lands, don’t forget to visit a bioprofumeria on your next trip to Italy.

So that curse is still going strong, hm? You will have a lot to answer for… I could have done with some snow at least this winter, but I don’t want any now that spring has sprung. AT least they tell me that, the weather outside isn’t quite on board yet.
Carolina Braina says
Haha, are you too in ‘temporary baby jail’, as Karen likes to call it?
LindaLibraLoca says
I do leave the house occasionally, but most of the time I am stuck on the couch producing milk…

I think I need it all. Esp the blush and that nude liner. Nude liner in the USA is usually much darker.
