As part of the NARS Summer 2016 Under Cover collection, NARS released two Dual-Intensity Blushes — Sexual Content and Liberation ($45 each) — and they are, in a word, gorgeous! I love how NARS collections are always wearable but never boring.
The NARS Dual-Intensity Blushes have a very pigmented, soft formula that can be used wet or dry. When used dry, they’re softly luminous, but if you use them with a dampened brush, the shine is more intense.
These two blush duos are incredibly versatile and would work for a wide range of skin tones, and I love that both of the colors in each duo can work layered or alone.
Sexual Content has a soft peach on the left and a medium pink on the right, and both shades are so pretty! I think the left color would be a great everyday blush for lighter skin tones and a nice sheen/highlighter for darker skin tones. The color on the right is even more universal. The swatches below are with a heavy hand so that you can really see the color, but these can just as easily be applied lightly for a wash of shimmery color.
Liberation has a cool-toned baby pink on the left and a warm rosy/terracota shade on the right. I think the shade on the right is very unique and gives a lovely natural flush. On lighter skin tones, it may also work as a bronzer. Either way, both shades are super pretty and wearable.
Both of these blush duos are stunning, and I see myself reaching for them often. I really can’t pick a favorite because I think they’re both beautiful in their own way, but I’d say that Sexual Content is probably better for lighter tones, and Liberation would work better for darker skin tones.
But to be honest…since these colors are so very layerable, I’ll be wearing both!
In this picture I’m wearing the right shade of Sexual Content dusted over my cheeks, and I think it totally works!
These blushes are limited edition and available now for $45 each.
What do you think? Will you be picking anything up from the NARS Under Cover collection?

It’s adorable!

They both look really nice but my favorite part is the limited edition out packaging. I always have a very hard time throwing away those cardboard boxes when they’re limited edition!
Adia says
Same here! I still have all of the packaging 🙂

Oh mah gerd I love Nars! Sexual Content will be mine. Thank you, I love your pictures!
Adia says
Glad you like the pictures! Sexual Content is gorgeous!

I liked both sets better dry!
Adia says
I like that you don’t have to wet them to get color payoff.

I really like those swatches for Liberation.
Adia says
I think Liberation is great for a bronzey summer look.

Sexual Content is gorgeous! All my money for now will be tied up in getting the UD Alice Through the Looking Glass Collection, but if Sexual Content is still around by next payday, I would love to get it. I have the Dual Intensity Blush duo in Fervor, and I love the shimmery finish and depth on them.
Adia says
Rachel, I think we’re makeup kindred spirits! I also have Fervor and LOVE it. I think you may be able to score Sexual Content because the collection will eventually hit other retailers, so you may have some time to prepare. The lipsticks in the UD collection look stunning, so I can see why you have them on your list!

I think you’re right. I always love the stuff you showcase. 🙂

Love the external packaging! Was hoping they’d be more pigmented.I will check these out in store. Nice natural looking lip color!
Adia says
These aren’t super pigmented at first swatch, but you can easily layer for more color. Check them out in stores!

Hi Adia. Your review is really persuasive in convincing me to get the Sexual Content blush duo. By the way how did you apply the blush? Is it by dabbing? May I ask what brush you used?
Adia says
HI Michaela, I used a MAC 129 blush brush. I used this because it’s smaller so I can focus on just using one color at a time. I just rubbed the brush back and forth on the powder a few times to pick up enough pigment then I applied it like I would a normal powder blush. I found the MAC 129 to work better than my go-to Real Techniques blush brush because it has a small head so it was easier to use with this blush duo. Hope this helps!

You know, I think MUFE really has it nailed when it comes to color but I have to give props to Nars too. They really do create gorgeous, unique shades like these blushes. I think I’m going to have to try the Sexual Content (hee hee). The only Nars blush I think I have currently is Orgasm, which I’ve kept in my beauty arsenal for years now.
Adia says
Well, you definitely have one of NARS’ best blushes already! Of the two blushes, I think Sexual Content is more unique and definitely worth checking out!

Wow, these are gorgeous shades! I definitely need to grab a few of these NARS blushes, they look like something I would totally use all summer.
Adia says
They’re great for summer because they have such a pretty sheen/shimmer!

I had a feeling NARS was gonna kill me with this collection. I think both duos are gorgeous and part of me wants both lol. If I had to choose I think I would just go with Sexual Content as I love how both shades look on you. I hope I can just stick to one and not end up with both lol
Adia says
Hi Fancie! Both blush duos are gorgeous, but I think Sexual Content is more unique. I have some looks coming up wearing both, so you’ll be able to get a better idea of how they look on the face 🙂
