Here, let me get in there and give you a quick shoulder rub for a second, because I really wouldn’t want you to pull a muscle doing the snake as you celebrate when I tell you that the new NARS Liquid Blushes are permanent. YAY!
They’re also going to be on counters sooner than I thought. They’ll be available starting May 12th at Sephora stores, NARS boutiques and online. Again, YAY! 🙂
OK, remember the NARS Orgasm Liquid Blush I talked about from the Orgasm Collection earlier today? It’s actually one of the four Liquid Blushes coming out May 12th.
That’s, like, one sleep away!
They’re $30 each, completely new to the NARS fam (as in they’ve never been seen before), and you get a 0.5 oz. glass bottle with a pump.
What’s it like to use one?
Slippery like a silicone primer, these super concentrated liquid blushes have a consistency comparable to a runny lotion. You can wear them under or on top of powder blushes.
You’ll only need one or two drops for your cheeks, and I just use my fingers to blend them in. The liquid spreads and stretches out evenly over the skin.
They’re sooo easy to use and kinda fun, too.
Four shades based on NARS powder blushes in the permanent line
Coincidentally, all of them are shades I happen to love and have been obsessed with for years. Weird! It’s like NARS had a direct conduit into my brain or something…
Anyway, other than golden peachy pink Orgasm, there’s golden apricot Luster, golden coral Torrid and dusty rose Dolce Vita.
Dolce Vita is the closest one to its counterpart color
It’s also the darkest of the four. I think it’s the closest one to its powder counterpart. It looks like someone took the back of a spoon to a pan, crushed the powder, mixed in some liquid, and poured that into a bottle.
Less shimmer, more satin with Orgasm, Luster and Torrid
As for the Liquid Blush versions of Orgasm, Luster and Torrid, they’re much less shimmery than their powder blush versions, making them more like satins that occasionally glimmer with micro-glitter here and there. Like a base color with very little pearl.
I think all three look lovely when worn by themselves. They create a natural, dewy cheek effect with colors that last a full day on my dry cheeks.
But the REAL fun starts when you layer these three shades with their counterpart powder blushes. It amplifies the base colors a bit more, so you see more of the coral, peach, apricot or rose.
The verdict
Buckets and barrels of love ? for this line! My hope is that NARS releases more shades in the future. The lovely colors layer well and don’t fade. Oh, and don’t worry — the bottle seems bigger than it looks because a little goes a long, looong way. I’m pretty sure you’ll like these, and you may even love them. Highly recommended!

Do ya think that Dolce Vita will blend and sheer enough to wear on super pale skin?? I’ve always loved that blush in powder form, but I don’t actually own it because I have a zillion other dusty plummy rose type compacts to keep me in blusher for the rest of my life… and yet I’m super intrigued by this! 🙂
p.s. you look really pretty in torrid!!

I have Dolce Vita, Torrid and Luster in powder form and loveeee them. I won’t be purchasing the liquid versions because I’m a powder blush lover but if I wasn’t, I’d have to grab at least a few of these.

Normally I’m not a fan of liquid or cream blushes but these seem lovely! I like that they toned down the glitter too.

I am curious about these liquid blushes and also hope Nars incorporates more shades from the powder blushes. M only experience with cream blush is Bobbi Brown pot rouge. They fade very quickly and the shades are either too brown or too orange for me. I am not a fan of the Orgasm powder, too much golden flecks for me. Dolce Vita and Armour seem to be too dark with more red in them for me. I did go to pick up one of the new bronzing powders and the makeup artist used Bumpy Ride on my cheeks. I liked the way it worked with the bronzer, a nice pink, not too shimmery .For now, I am sticking with my Chanel Jous Contraste in Rose Ecrin.

Completely unrelated newbie question: I can’t figure our where they’re picking up my profile icon from…??? It’s not the account profile icon I have associated with the email I’ve put in the form for commenting. How can I change it? HALP! ?

Do the liquid blushes exaggerate pores?

Hmm, the one thing I don’t really like about the multiple or powdered blush in Orgasm is all the shiny, gold glimmer. So I might check these out. The only one that’s not calling to me is Luster.
I have difficulty blending out cream and stick blushes evenly, so I’m hoping these blend a bit easier. I’ve tossed all my multiples because the end up really patchy on my cheeks.

Thank heavens I made some Sephora money this afternoon by selling a piece of furniture. Just in time, lol. 🙂

OMG, these are gorgeous! I wasn’t aware of the launch so thank you! I love love love liquid blush, but it’s going to be hard to choose! Probably Torrid or Orgasm. Gotta try ’em on

Oooh I like that! I’m a big fan of cream and liquid blushes in general and the formula sounds fantastic here!

These are really pretty. So glad the orgasm liquid blush has less gold shimmer to it.
Karen, is the label on the Torrid swatches backwards? It looks like your unblended and blended labels should be reversed.
