The new PixieDust polishes in Zoya’s Magical Pixie collection sparkle like Ryan Gosling’s pearly whites on the red carpet, *zing!*
Hexagonal flecks of iridescent goodness combine with finer flecks of shimmer to create a dazzling effect more powerful than the gravitational pull of J. Lo’s butt.
You have no choice but to stare…
Ain’t no party like a glitter party, so of course I had to go there. 🙂 And this glitter does not mess around.
I think Zoya’s regular PixieDust formula is pretty flashy on its own, but the addition of extra hex pieces here takes it to the next level. Totally worthy of a bacchanalian bachelorette par-taaaaay in Vegas, or perhaps a cat fight on Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Rosy Lux, silver Cosmo and blue Vega are all full coverage, and Zoya recommends 2-3 coats on clean nails (no base coat needed), although, I bet if you could get away with a single layer if you were in a hurry.
For each of these swatches below, I used two… Force of habit, ya know?
I love the way cool-toned blue Vega, my favorite of the bunch, shimmers… It takes me back to when El Hub and I had just started dating.
We’d visit his family in Hawaii over the holidays, and I’d wake up early in the mornings to sneak in a pre-dawn surf session. Vega glimmers just like those teal blue waters sparkled as the sun came up.
Can you see the purple pieces of glitter in cool-toned pink Lux (my second favorite one)? I think they give it a dainty, feminine touch.
Cosmo, the third shade here, is like a disco ball in a bottle. If you’re in the mood to party, this one’s your polish.
With Zoya’s textured PixieDust polishes, it’s all about the grit, but ya know — if that’s not your thing, you could apply a shiny top coat for a smoother feel.
Oh, and you know how glitter polishes are infamous for latching on to nails? Well, these are no exception. They’re kind of a pain to remove, so plan accordingly (give yourself some extra time).
The three polishes in the new Magical Pixie collection are dazzling on Zoya counters now and at zoya.com for $10 each (or $30 for the three-piece set of full-size bottles).

Hm. On the one hand, I think these look cool, and ‘pixie dust’ is such a good name for them. On the other hand, I think they look terrible and chunky (except lux maybe).
Conflicted! 😀

I love glitter nail paints! If only they weren’t such a pain to remove! Lux is gorgeous!

I love love zoya! Those colors are so pretty and I love how they added sequins in this collection. I have a couple pixie colors from there previous collection and they are strictly glitter. These one sparkle more then there old ones.
Love your blog!

cosmo and vega looks just wow!

Those are gorgeous! Did you find that you had to apply multiple layers to get a nice opaque coat? Have you tried removing them yet?
I adore glitter polishes but despise the tedious removal process. Even after days of removing glitter polish, there’s always some lingering!

Don’t they pull on fabric while dressing or during the day? I’ve always been wary of textured nail polishes because of my fear of ruining delicate silks or satins due to their roughness…
