There are so many pretty, pint-sized bottles of nail polish in the utterly adorable Ciaté London Mani Mini Month set, and they’re all leading me to completely fail at my attempt to NOT hoard things.
There’s a long-running joke among my Filipino friends and I that Filipinos are hoarders, and, well…at least in my family, it’s totally true. Seriously, my folks never get rid of anything! On a trip home a few months ago, I found this one cheesy poster that hung in my room when I was a teenager. Came to find that it had been living in my parents’ garage for more than 20 years!
I tend to hold on to things a long time, too, but I’ve been working on it. I recently read Marie Kondon’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing, which has a lot of great tips, but it’s hard to resist the urge to hoard everything under the sun.
Especially when faced with something as hoard-worthy as this 24-piece set…
Originally, I planned break up the Ciaté London Mani Mini Month set, which is arranged like an advent calendar, with 24 little products hidden behind closed “doors,” and give them to the ladies in my life as Christmas stocking stuffers.
It comes with 19 mini 0.17-oz. nail polishes in…
- Heirloom, a duochrome with purple and gold
- Check Mate, a monochrome with square glitter
- Pom Pom, a coral
- Cutie Pie, a sheer pink
- Snow Globe, a holographic glitter
- Ahoy Sailor, a turquoise
- Life’s a Peach, a peach
- A List, a duochrome purple
- Double Bubblegum, a lilac
- Raspberry Collins, a fuchsia
- Birthday Blue, a chrome blue
- Miracle on 34th, a golden glitter nail topper
- Shady Lady, a gunmetal chrome
- Purple Rain-bow, a purple holographic glitter
- Dangerous Affair, a deep red
- Prima Ballerina, a greige
- Hutch, a classic red and
- Cookies & Cream, a cream nude
- (2) bottles of Chalet Chic, a holographic white loose glitter nail topper
As well as…
- A 0.42-oz. full-size bottle of Rom Com Rouge (a red glitter)
- A 0.17-oz. mini bottle of Nail Gym Nail Strengthener Treatment
- A 0.17-oz. mini bottle of Bloom Boost Nail Illuminator Treatment
- A 0.17-oz. mini bottle of Knight in Shining Armour Overnight Nail Mask Treatment
- A mini Glass Nail File
But the thing is just so darned cute that I don’t want to break it apart, and whoops! — a few of the shades accidentally ended up on my nails. How the heck did that happen?!
These are some of my favorites…
Other than the colors, I also like the wide brush and the shiny finishes. And the formula, which dries fairly quickly (only takes about five minutes), holds up reasonably well. I wore Ahoy Sailor, the creamy light blue shade, with a base coat for a couple days earlier this week, and it did OK. I saw a small chip on one of my nails at the end of the second day, which isn’t a great sign, but I spaced out and forgot to apply a top coat, so that may have contributed.
I haven’ used Ciaté London polishes before, but I anticipate mediocre wear time without the help of a base and top coat. The brand is based out of London, and their formula is free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, dibutyl phthalate and camphor.
Have you used Ciaté London polishes before? What do you think about the brand?
If you frequently find yourself fighting the temptation to resist hoarding gigantic beauty product sets, be careful around this one. It’s available now at Sephora and online for $59, which is $2.46 per item. Not bad at all considering that Ciaté London’s minis usually go for $8 each.

What a fabulous set! Nail lovers unite!
I really like mini nail polishes. I fell in love with Essie’s Worth the Wait when I purchased the Colorful-e Ever After mini trio. The other two polishes were meh, but I purchased the full size of Worth the Wait 🙂

I haven’t used them before but I really thought this was a super cute set and I’ve been debating getting it!

I just tried this brand. I bought the Olivia Palermo set of 4 polishes from Sephora.I am finding that it holds up very well with a base coat and top coat. I’m on my forth day of wear with no chipping and very minor tip wear on just a couple of fingers. I used Butter London base and top coat.

It is a cute set, I got a similar one from Ciaté last year. Be aware that you can’t use up the last half of the polish in the mini bottles, the design hinders that (at least not without quite a lot of difficulty, getting polish everywhere trying to pour it towards the brush).

I do a huge claret every now and again, promising myself that I will be better and stop hoarding stuff this time, but I always fail miserably when confronted with things like this.

Supercute set 🙂 But I am not into nail polish enough to REALLY want this. Life’s a Peach looks super pretty though.

These look fun! I love mini nail polish sets, because you can experiment with lots of different colors. And I just love the cute little bottles. 🙂

This is such a great idea and I love the box graphics. I’m usually drawn to the same types of colors, over and over, but there is a lot to like in here. Even for boring-old-me! 🙂 You and I would be good sharers because you pick the bright, fun stuff and I pick the boring. Except Rom Com, which I liked immediately. The whole row of Check Mate (such a great name for the black/white theme) through Nail Gym also caught my eye right away. The finish of Snow Globe looks really interesting. Anyway, super cute set!

I DO NOT need any more nail polish. Lol. Talk about hoarding. I generally dislike sets and really large palettes because there are always colors I just don’t touch, so it seems like a waste to me. I’d rather spend more on one bottle that I know I’m going to use.
