“M, what on earth is this contraption?”

“That, Bond, is a Thighmaster. Google it.”

“My thighs need no mastering, M.”

“Famous last words, Bond. Famous last words.”

. . .

Can I just say how hard it is to find a frickin’ Thighmaster these days? Because really, if you’re gonna dress up as Bond girl Xenia Onatopp, you want your thighs to be like BAM! — straight-up killing machines!!

I’m not kidding either. In 1995′s GoldenEye, Xenia, played by the gorgeous Famke Janssen, is the Bond babe who famously kills by crushing people to death with her thighs (wha?!).

(Keep in mind, this was before MMA was popular, LOL!)

In fact, Xenia almost takes out Pierce Brosnan’s Bond in one of their encounters…

Hurts so good!

I sure love Xenia’s makeup in the movie. She smolders in a smokey eye and rich red lips while she seduces her prey.

Psycho on the inside, but she keeps it classy on the outside.

Nice. :)

Xenia

This afternoon I thought I’d pattern my makeup after hers — not literally copying it, but I tried to capture the same feel, with the biggest difference being that I used a rich gold eyeshadow to play off the OPI GoldenEye polish on my nails.

The eyes: step by step

For this look I used the new Guerlain Liu Eye & Lip Calligraphy Palette ($79), but you could always dupe the colors, or swap them out for shades that better suit your skin tone.

1. Start by sweeping a shimmery golden eyeshadow on your lids. (Get it? Golden eye-shadow? Yuk yuk yuk!)

2. Give some depth to the look by patting a shimmery taupe directly on top and blending the colors together to create a soft gradient.

3. Smoke out your eyes by patting and blending a black eyeshadow on your lids. Then, apply the same shadow along your lower lash lines with a pencil brush, and for even more definition, line your upper and lower water lines with a black eyeliner pencil. Finish with a few coats of mascara.

Xenia’s got some killer cheekbones, so I chiseled mine out by brushing bronzer just below the apples of my cheeks before slicking a red lipstick on my kisser and coating my nails with three layers of OPI GoldenEye.

That’s it. All done.

Better watch out, Bond. I’m comin’ for ya. :)

      Hi everyone,

I got hired to work at a department store and the job that they gave me was cosmetic ringer! I am so excited but I am so new to makeup! I have been researching and looking up different brands but I need some more information because I am going to be doing training next week and I want to show the manager that I can do it! So any advice is needed! Thank everyone

  2. Marla says:

      Hi Advah,

Thank you! :) I like that Tina song too (she’s one of my faves…her legs!).

Sorry to hear you haven’t found a flat yet. I know it’s so stressful. (Been there many times.) Gonna keep my fingers crossed for you, okay?

Me too. I love her in X-Men.

We made it to Friday, huzzah! What are you guys up to this weekend? We’re painting the dining room today…exciting, I know.

      • Nina says:

Nice weekend planned there – and im serious! Once the decorating bug hits, dont let go til youre done!

Low key weekend – the hubs is feeling under the weather. :-)

        • Karen says:

Yup, and we’re going to order the table and chairs too. Small victories!

Low key is always good. Hope your sweetheart feels better. I bet the fur kids are good at tending to you guys when you’re under the weather…Tabs could use some help in that department, LOL!

  8. Kim says:

This is great! I notice you chose a pic of poor Pierce’s pained face again. And, I found it unintentionally funny again. :)

    • Karen says:

      Hi Kim,

HAHAHA! I’m glad someone else appreciates his pain faces…really, they were the best thing about his stint as Bond.

So…I think I’ll be doing Argo this weekend. And Skyfall, of course. :)

      • Kim says:

        I totally agree! :)

I’m thrilled that you liked Bond. We took the fellas to see Wreck-it-Ralph on Friday night (I didn’t care for it nearly as much as the critics). It was all I could do not to sneak a couple of theaters down to watch Skyfall instead. Especially when I was in the hall and the theme song was blaring!! Hopefully I’ll see it this week but, first, helping with the 4th Grade Iroquois Longhouse Project. One word. Debacle. HAHA!

  9. Really love this mini-series of Bond girl looks you’re doing! What a great idea. And GoldenEye is my favorite polish from this collection! So amazing!

Goldeneye looks ALOT like Sally Hansen’s Gilded Lily.

    I own Gilded Lily & I regret not getting a backup or 2 because I love it & it’s limited edition. Waaahh! D;
