There are days when I wake up looking like I just climbed out of my crypt after 24 mummified years…
Yesterday was one of those days, so I took Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek in Perk out to play, and put a little on before my Starbucks’ run.
For testing.
I swiped it on bare cheeks, blended out the edges and headed out the door, excited about the prospect of caffeine in my near future. 🙂
Perk is a glossy coral cream designed to be a multipurpose maven. It’s both a sheer blush and a lip tint.
Unfortunately…it looks patchy on my lips. Also, when I got home after my Starbucks run with my grande iced matcha green tea latte (with coconut milk), it was also gone, baby, gone from my cheeks.
So, I guess you could say that it looked like the literal version of no-makeup makeup? Because I didn’t look like I was wearing any blush on my cheeks at all.
I mean, I don’t usually mind subtle. Actually, I LIVE for subtle makeup. It’s totally my thing, but Perk straight up peace’d the eff out.
Sadly, Perk doesn’t really do it for me. I think there are other, longer-lasting cream blushes out there, like Kjaer Weis Sun Touched (which is freaking makeup gold).

Aww, it’s too bad this didn’t last on your skin. :/

Oh no! Such a shame! I’m finding it a bit difficult to find blusher formulations which aren’t insanely pigmented, or on the contrary, that brush off too easily / need to built up for ages…

That’s a shame Karen. Multiple use products are never easy to get right though, I don’t know many (if any?!) that I like…

We’re Starbucks twins! Well, almost–I get soy milk.
Thanks for the review. I’m really into non-powder blushes at the moment, so it’s good to hear what works and what doesn’t. At the moment, I’m really into the NARS liquid blush, but Milk is so compelling with their interesting products. I’ll just have to try something other than the blush/lip thing.

Oh, darn – I think this is the first Milk product that you haven’t liked. I guess they can’t be perfect all the time. 🙂 Maybe it needs a primer?

That’s too bad, these looked nice! I’ve been drooling over the Kjaer Weis cream blushes since you first posted about them, so I think they’ll just have to be my next “bite the bullet” purchase! I remember you recommended Desired Glow for me.

Wow what a bummer on this one. I have been hearing rumblings about Milk products, and was eager to try, but I’m glad I didn’t pick up this one. Thanks for your honest and helpful review! I still might try some of their other products and see what I think.

That’s disappointing. The swatch looked very promising! Thanks for sharing your experience!

It’s a pretty color swatched on your arm, too bad it didn’t last.

I have yet to find a multiuse product that I am 100% content with. And yes, no makeup as in actually no makeup is not what I am going for either.

Hehe, love reading your stuff, you slay me 😀 What a bummer that this ‘peace’d the eff out’, lame. Thanks for the review!
