You’re never too old for Hello Kitty.
The evidence: this OMG-inducing Hello Kitty 5-inch Sensor makeup mirror by simplehuman.
How adorable is this special edition mirror?!
Straight-up, though, it’s $150, which…I KNOW. But it’s a technological marvel. Plus, HELLO KITTY.
If you haven’t heard of simplehuman before, they make all manner of streamlined, modern-looking products for the home, including waste baskets (I have a small one in my office right now), dish racks, shower caddies — all kinds of practical doodads and gizmos. And they also have a line of fancy makeup mirrors.
This one folds up/down to fit in her very own carrying case with red bow (aw!). There’s even a little Hello Kitty charm on the zipper.
Srsly…? Cute overload. 🙂
A rechargeable LED ring light encircles the mirror providing awesome light, and it’s rechargeable with the included USB cord. Charges last up to five weeks, too, so if you bring the mirror somewhere with you, you probably won’t even need to bring the cord.
The light is also BRIGHT — supposedly twice as bright as the average makeup mirror light — and daylight balanced. A sensor detects as your face approaches the mirror and automatically increases the brightness of the light, so YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE TO TOUCH ANY BUTTONS.
Welcome to the future.
The tru-lux light system
“At 550 lux, the tru-lux light system is more than twice as bright as the next best. The light from surgical-grade LEDs is dispersed evenly with a unique pattern of micro-reflectors throughout the ring. No light loss or hot spots.
With a color rendering index (CRI) of 90, the tru-lux light system closely simulates natural sunlight and the full color spectrum to show every detail. Looking good in this light means you will look flawless in any setting.”
With 10x magnification, it’s also great for tweezing and detailed makeup work on your eyes and lips.
It’s not inexpensive…but for the right makeup/Hello Kitty lover, it has keepsake written all over it. It’s well built, limited edition and available now at simplehuman.com and wherever simplehuman products are sold.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

It’s not that bad on cost actually! Out of my price range but just about everything is!

This is so fancy! I need a new mirror like that for my vanity (I have a tri-fold mirror, but I need something for up close liner jobs), but definitely not this expensive! But the Hello Kitty bow <3

This is really fancy but I love it. I always struggle with mirrors in hotels when I travel. I always bring a compact magnifying mirror that has light in it too but it’s not as good as a full size mirror.

Must have!!! Going toward the sensor light!!!

Cute! I like that the Hello Kitty thing is there but not over the top – no sparkles or pink stuff everywhere. I have good natural lighting in my bathroom but whenever I need to do my makeup at night, I’m in the dark, lol! I really need a good makeup mirror with a light.

Oh man… I already know that pictures come out better when I take them next to the sun lamp I use during the winter for therapy reasons, but a special lamp for makeup? I can see the use of this! Now if I had the money for it…

I am not that into Hello Kitty, but I have been eyeing these mirrors for ages…

oh my gosh that is CUTE!

I’m so in need of a makeup mirror because my bathroom light might as well be by candle. I don’t think I need anything this fancy, though. But it is tempting and has just the right amount of Hello Kitty. 🙂

simple human has a new tri-fold mirror. It’s big and beautiful and $$$. I would love to have it though.

I was looking for a good make-up mirror and this looks wonderful. I bought the non-Hello Kitty 5″ one new on ebay for 85.00. My cats would probably be jealous of Hello Kitty anyway 🙂
Pam says
Awww that mirror is adorable!!! I bought the regular Simple Human mirror earlier this year; it’s pricey but definitely worth it. My boyfriend even uses it to check out his pores. lol.
Pam says
Also, I was just looking at their website.. Did you see the wide view mirror?! HOMG. $400 might be a bit much… Where are our sugar daddies?! LOL :'(
Ursula says
My bf got me the wide mirror and I am so in love with it! Definitely does its job! Good luck on finding the sugar daddy lol

This mirror is cuteness overload and i am so happy you shared, Karen! Haven’t heard of the brand before. I would however go for a bigger mirror, because this seems too small for full face makeup 🙁 sad, love HK!
