Sometimes I wear this low-key style as an alternative to the messy bun I’ve been rocking for, oh, the last 1,456 years. LOL! It’s uncomplicated and quick, and you can make it as purposefully messy or neat as you want (always good to have options!).
Oh, and you can do it in less than 10 minutes.
It’s also great for when you’re two (or, let’s be real, three) days into your blowout, and you want to skip washing your hair one more day but can’t bear the thought of wearing it down.
Note: You can still do this style if your hair is shorter than mine, too. Just do one low roll and skip the second.
Tools:
2 Ponytail holders that match your hair color
Bobby pins that match your hair color
A texturizing spray (optional)
Hairspray
Steps:
1a. Optional first step: spray texturizing spray from mid-shaft to ends for texture and volume.
1b. Begin by gathering your hair into a loose, low side ponytail, and secure with an elastic band.
2. Part hair above the hair-tie.
3. Pull pony up, over and through the part to form a low roll.
4. Ease out a few strands to add volume and texture to the roll.
5. Wrap a section of hair around the hair tie, and secure with bobby pins.
6. Next, wrap another elastic band about three inches down from the first low roll.
7. Repeat steps 3 through 6 to form a second low roll.
8. Finish by spraying lightly with hairspray. 🙂

Hi Karen,
You look lovely, the studs are georgeous, where are they from ?
Karen says
Hi Sweta,
Thank you, friend! The earrings are by a Hawaiian jewelry company called Na Hoku, and the style is Rose Gold Kabana Earrings with Pink Mother of Pearl Inlay.

This is a great look for you! I know there are pros and cons but I am envious of how thick your hair is. 🙂 If I did this, I kid you not, it would be like the kids in the 80s who had the “tails”. I don’t know if that was a thing where you were but, it was like short hair with a long, thin tail in the back. Probably the diameter of a pencil. HAHA! I’m exaggerating, but I’d definitely have to do some puffing and fluffing the pony part.

This is so cute! I’ve been toying with the idea of growing my hair out a bit so I can try some different styles. This one looks quick and easy!

Off topic – baking bread. Check out Jacques Pepin’s recipe for French Bread.https://www.kqed.org/w/jacquespepin/springrecipe1.html
It’s soooo good – in fact, all of his recipes that I have tried are amazing. I’m not an accomplished bread baker and it came out perfectly. I don’t even want to think about it though, I try to limit my carbs!

You have gorgeous hair and I love this style! My hair is so fine I don’t bother to grow it past my ear lobes.
Love your earrings, too!

I am going to do this! I love uncomplicated easy hair looks, that still involve some sort of style. I don’t often like wearing my hair down, so I love to have a fun way (that takes no time) to put it up.
Karen says
Hi Mlki,
Oh yay! Please send me a pic when you try it. I’d love to see it on you!
