I’ve been wanting to do a tutorial for this look forever! It’s one of my fallbacks when I don’t want to think too hard…which is, like, all the time. Often. 🙂 It’s a timeless classic eye with some cool-toned eyeshadows, and some neutral eyeshadows, and I usually pair it with peachy pink cheeks and nude lips (and sometimes false lashes).
There’s a bit to it, so it’s not a 5-minute look by any means, but it’s not too far out there either. It’ll get easier the more you do it.
Hope you enjoy it. Give it a try sometime, and let me know how it turns out. You. Can. Do. It!

This is a really flattering look on you! I don’t do nude lips often because I feel more comfortable with a little more color on my face. I’ll try this out with a peachy brown lip!
Karen says
Hi Ankita,
This look would totally work with a peachy brown lip. Maybe with a matte finish?
Ankita@corallista says
I’m thinking MAC Spice Lip Liner, its such a great neutral for medium/dark complexions!
Agata says
You make the cutest faces 🙂 I loved watching the video and I am going to try this look for sure.
Speaking of false lashes, what would you recommend for something natural looking but a little bit more fancy than Ardell 110s?
Karen says
Hi Agata,
Can’t wait to see your look. 🙂
OK, so… I can recommend some lashes! What are you looking for? Would you like some lift on the ends? Or would you like the lashes to have length in the center?
Hope you’re having a nice week so far!
Lennae says
Wow, I love this look it!

Agata says
I’m looking for some lift on the ends I guess.
My week has been fine. I had a good day off today shopping and going to lunch my friend. How’s yours?
Karen says
If you want lift at the ends then I highly recommend the ones from the video, the Eylure No. 117s. They’re currently on sale now at Ulta!
My week has been OK. 🙂 It’s chugging along nicely! Where did you go shopping? Did you end up grabbing anything?
Agata says
Thank you, I will try these! I was actually at Ulta yesterday looking at lashes but I couldn’t decide. I didn’t get any makeup yesterday, but I helped my friend pick a lipstick. She never wears lipsticks so it’s kind of exciting. I got some VS lingerie though and I also got a sample of the new Nare Minerals Gel foundation. Have you tried it yet?
Genesis says
I love that video Karen! Thanks. I have been wanting to try the laura mercier foundation. But, need to be done with all the other ones i have already. :/
Debra says
Bellissima! Bravo!
So interesting to see the order in which you apply makeup. I do my eyebrows last! Which is sometimes bad because I forget but I think it’s cause I spent so many years just not doing the brows at all!!
Plus, I like to use the foundation & powder to plump up the hairs a bit first. My own oddity.
But the eye application is so pro-exquisite! And what would a gal do without Q-tips! You know they can be used for the ears too!
I’m gonna watch a 2nd time and take notes on the lips! Cupid’s bow can always use a little more love.
LindaLibraLoca says
Can’t wait to get back home to watch your videos.
Well, now that I think of it, I can totally put off going home for a few more weeks, as NZ is great, but when I have to return in March, your videos will was the pain.
ANIKO says
It’s amazing!!! I love your videos. You are always very funny and pretty.:) Please do more videos ! 🙂
Dee says
I dont normally wear cool colours because of my super warm undertones but I love this look on you Karen!! Those lashes are so natrual and yet va-va-voom – love it! Thanks for sharing:)
Kim says
My watch-at-home videos are piling up! 🙂 You know you lost me at “not 5 minutes” and the 21 products on your list but I’ll absolutely watch because I’m sure you have 1000 great tips, throughout. And I love the false lashes!
Stephanie says
You sort of look like Karen and you sort of don’t… Makeup is frighteningly amazing for enacting transformations.
Kiss & Make-up says
Oh this is a great look for you, Karen! It’s amazing how well you wear both warm and cool colors. And I love you with this lip color.
Estefania says
Karen, you look BOMB. Seriously. You’re making me consider buying two bottles of the LM Flawless Fluide (they don’t have a match for my skin; I’d have to mix every day)! Your skin looks AMAZING.
Jenny says
I think what I love most about your makeup looks/tutorials is that you keep the looks simple and attainable for the every day woman. There are so many youtube beauty gurus out there that create these insanely (beautiful) difficult looks that just aren’t ideal for most women. Thank you for keeping it REAL! Also- your hair is everything.
Zel says
Amazing! I really thought you were wearing eyelid tape. I love how you made your lids bigger. As a Filipino with small lids it’s hard to perfect and blend eyeshadows. PS. I’m a longtime lurker on your blog.
aradhana says
beautiful!
you look fabulous in all your makeup looks, but this one looks extra special somehow.
thanks for posting the tutorial. i picked up a few tips i might try out sometime soon…adjusting for my skin tone of course!
Karen says
Thank you, Aradhana! Let me know how your look turns out. 🙂
Erin says
I’ve been wondering about that moisturizer! How do you like it?
Karen says
I like it for pre-makeup prep. I do end up using a different moisturizer at night though for real deal heavy duty hydration.
Tina says
I love seeing the products you use because we are the same coloring and it gives me ideas! 🙂
Karen says
Hi Tina,
I hope you give the look a try! 🙂
Gloria says
Finally you are doing video again! I will try to do this look but… Wow, lots of products used.
Karen says
Hi Gloria,
You can totally modify it and streamline the look to make it simpler. Like, when I do this for a more everyday look, I leave out the false lashes, and use one (not two) crease colors. You could also skip the brown bottom liner. Or for the liner on the top lash line, leave out the black eyeshadow and just smudge with your angled brush. There’s a lot of ways to tweak it!
Melissa says
Great Tutorial Karen! Thank you for making it 🙂
Karen says
Thank you for watching it, Melissa!

What a beautiful, sexy look. You look stunning. I’m not usually a neutral look lover, so huge compliment from me.
Julia says
I have enjoyed your blog but this look compelled me to comment. This is definitely my favorite look. You look gorgeous, gurl! I am definitely going to be trying this one very soon.
Kwmechelle says
So great to see your face & hear your voice. Beautiful look!
kellly says
It sure looks pretty. I do a natural look most mornings, but my list only has about 5 products. I’m sure I’d look much better if I used a few more, but you know, time and energy . . . for just going in to work. Oh well. I love your lipstick color(s) for this look, too!
Julia says
I forgot to ask which brushes you used for this look.
Alyssa Melanie says
Hi Karen! It’s such a fun video to watch. I love this look on you and I hope you make more videos like this. 🙂
Poo@beautyandmakeupmatters says
I love your videos.. U should do more often 😉 .. Enjoy u talking over there 🙂
I am not a fan of color colors as they don’t pull well on my warm skin tone but u made everything work so easily together.. I shall give this look a shot over the weekend 🙂
Alexa says
You are always giving me such great makeup ideas that I want to try out! Now I just need to find the time to do so, or make the time to do so.
fancie says
You are rocking that nude lip! That combo was totally made for you. I love it!
Sarah says
This was the best tutorial I have ever watched! I loved that it wasn’t overpolished and overproduced to ‘perfection’ – so many YouTubers do that and they come off as flat and personality-less. It was so fun to watch, and I HAD to go back and watch the bit about pizza sauce removal again – LOL! You are pure awesome. <3
cgr says
You’re adorable. I enjoyed that tutorial.
Snoopysteph says
This is such a beautiful look on you, Karen! It goes to show that even warm-toned beauties can pull off a cool-toned look. 😀

Love this look! You look like Brigitte Bardot! No lie
