It looks like Ms. Bobbi Brown wasn’t the only one with the idea for a spring collection focused on a specific color theme (in her case coral). Today MAC released four of them! Four new collections, each one focussed on a different color theme, and all of them available now online.
Each of the four MAC Spring Colour Forecasts mini-collections highlights one of four colors — Pink, Coral, Plum and Amber.
The MAC crew filled each of the sets with a mix of makeup (including some limited edition items) for eyes, lips and cheeks in tones ranging from demure to bold, and to really spice things up they even threw in some nail polishes and a splash of fragrance, too. 🙂
I’m intrigued by the stackable Crush Metal Pigments ($32.50) that come with four jars filled with sparkly metallic loose eyeshadows… Talk about portable party makeup, hay!
I felt a wave of blush lust the first moment I saw the Blush Ombres ($25 each), four powder blushes with a gentle gradient of color in each pan. MAC says they apply with medium, buildable coverage. Yummy.
Colour Forecast looks like a formidable collection with over 40 pieces among the four color sets…

Ah, I don’t want any one of them, but I’m definitely checking out the golds quad and Fresh Salmon lipstick based on Temptalia’s swatches. 😀

I am in love with the pink collection and will have to pick up the stacked pigments (i am a pigment junkie). Then the lipsticks will be the next thing. I love the look of the ombre blush but I just dont know if I would use it as much as my NARS Angelika. The other forecast editions are pretty but they just dont suit my coloring. ( I think I could dabble with the Plum collection but seems more of a fall thing)
Mary O. says
I would have to pick a combination of the Pink and Amber collections. Because of the stackable pigments for the pink, and the quad and lipgloss in the Amber one. But to be honest, I think I will skip this collection entirely and just save my money for the Summer collection 🙂
Tiffany says
Coral for me, please!
In reality, I am trying to choose between the pink and coral ombre blushes… I can’t decide!
marisa says
i thought i’d LOVE the pink stuff…..i went to the presale event tonight and only came away with 2 things!!! the lavender wind lipglass and the almondine lipglass…..lavender wind is perfect over lavender whip lipstick and almondine is amazing to layer over just about anything 🙂
K says
Grr. I don’t know! I love all things pink, but I really want to play around with coral.

The nail polish in the amber collection please! I can’t seem to get tired of “mannequin hands.”
DonnaN says
after viewing Temptalia’s swatches, I cut my list down…..
• L/S in Laugh a Lot Lipstick, Fresh Salmon, Rose Maiden and Radiccio
• L/G in Hush Hush Rose, Electric Fuchsia, Cha Cha and Kumquat
• E/S in LaLa, Very Violet, Hot Hot Hot and Perky
• E/S Quad – Color 3
I think I’ll have enough B2M’s for 2 trade-ins…..so that will help a bit….
julie says
I think I’ve gotten enough of the warm neutrals from the Warm & Cozy collection! I do like one or two items from different collections. I’ll wait and see!
Tavia says
I would try the Purple Rage lipglass. I saw lip swatches on Christine’s blog from Temptalia and I simply felt in the love with the color. Pigments from Color Forecast 2 really look nice but I’m really not into MAC anymore since it’s pooping collections like a pregnant bunny. The pigments have the same price but smaller quantity so why bother. Not all the products from the collection they are launching are new, I’ve seen many repromotes.

I agree, I would like if MAC put out less collections and took more time to make them unique and worth-while.
Christy says
Too many pretty products! I’ve clawed back my list big time from just about everything to slightly less items. So far 4 lipsticks (bubblegum, laugh a lot, color me coral, fresh salmon), 2 lipglasses (hush hush rose and cha cha), 4 eye shadows (lala, rosy outlook, very violet and nanogold), Azalea Blossom and Ripe Peach Blush, as well as the purple and neutral quad. I skipped out on the majority of All Ages, All Races All Sexes, as well as a lot of Warm & Cozy. I think that will be it for my budget for MAC in February 🙂

I can’t pick A collection . . . On my list of things to check out this weekend (thanks to Christine @ Temptalia):
Lipsticks:
Radicchio
Bronzilla
Fresh Salmon
Rose Maiden
Colour 4 Eyeshadow Quad
Stacks 1 & 2
Hush, Hush Rose Lipglass
So definitely trending towards the lipsticks for me 🙂

Karen!! I just came back from the launch event at my local MAC. It was fun. They had cocktails, some hors d’oeuvres, and this neat little pamphlet with swatches from the collection. MAN, was there a line. My friend and I had gotten there earlier but I didn’t realize so many people were going to be there. Yiiii. When we arrived we went the back of the line in awe. I picked up the Ripe Peach ombre blush. I love it. Sooo pretty. My friend picked up the Colour 3 quad in plums. I’ll try and post it on my blog so you can check out my mini vid 😛

I am definitely lemming for the Azalea Blossom blush! I’m wondering how it’ll look on more olive/tanner skin tones, though, because all the swatches I’ve seen are on lighter skin.
Jasmine says
This is one of the few times the collection is too overwhelming for me. There’s too many options! I think releasing one of these a week or every two weeks would have been better than all at once. I’m going to wait until the Riveting and Give me London collections.
Vanessa H says
Hi Karen 🙂
Thank you for posting these, they brightened an otherwise awful day. It was one of those that starts off bad, gets worse, and just as you think it’s going to get better…someone comes over and pulls the rug out from under you. Tears, a jar of Nutella and a blanket sound good right about now…
I LOVE purple and coral right now, so I’d have to pick both!…and throw in the amber for good measure 🙂

hmm… this doesnt really grab me. im so dissapointed with mac collections lately. also im trying to spend my $$$ on staples and not just fun stuff, you know? even so, PLUM all the way.
Vonvon says
I have lotsa pinks already….Amber doesn’t really attract and I have a fair amount of it too. Between Coral and Plum…I love Plum more…..plummy, purply…..love it!

I can’t wait to go see these in person :). I’m so excited! I want the stackable pigments from the Pink collection and the quad palette from the Purple. I’m also interested in the Coral blush… I’ll have to swatch it before I decide. Any idea what kind of finish the blushes have? I’m hoping to go check these out on Friday. Hopefully I won’t go broke while I’m there :).
NINA says
When I saw these sets, I was instantly drawn to the Plums. While a bit dark for Spring, the eyeshadow quad is very, very versatile and the lipstick and lipglass very sexy. The blush is very mysterious and quite, quite appealing!
If I can choose a runner up, I would pick the Amber set. While it seems very neutral, the possibilities are endless with the items in that set!
Pinch says
If I were hauling this collection (which I actually won’t, I’ve blown my budget on other things), I would get the lip stuff from both the pink and the coral segments. They look so delicious!
The quads don’t really tempt me, as I can dupe most the colours, the pigment stacks seem too chunky in formula. Hot hot hot eyeshadow though, looks spectacular 🙂

They’re all nice, but I want the pink collection (all of it) and maybe the eyeshadow quad from the plum one. I can’t wait until my local MAC counter at the Bay gets these in!
Never Enough Nails says
Looks like everybody’s lovin Coral this spring!!!! I would take home anything and everything from Coral LOL. Especially the blush ombre and the nail polish (of course)!
In reality, I am buying all the blush ombres from all the color collections and the pink, coral and purple nail polishes, AND probably some lip glasses!!! I LOVE this collection!

I want them all. Ever one of them. But, chances are, I’m probably only picking up a couple of items from each color group. Loving the nail colors!

Yesterday I bought the lipsticks “Bubble Gum” and “Victorian.” I wanted to try Salmon, but I was unsure of how it would look with my skintone. On Temptalia, it looked like a red with orange/gold shimmer. When she applied it to her lips though, it looked barely there. I hope I didn’t make a mistake by not purchasing it!
Saku says
I so want to try the plums and pinks. I can only dream.
Alexandra says
Pretty much everything in this collection makes me drool…so I guess this means I’m gonna go bankrupt soon 😀
Yajaira says
omg iwant it all, of course i probably will get nothing since i have to drive over an hour to get to a mac BUT a girl can dream right?
lo says
I almost don’t care about most of it… I love the lipglasses, though. And I HAVE to have the nail polishes… I’m so obsessed with nail polish, especially Malibu Peach and Galore Pink.

plum- the purple rage lipglass! ^^

Marce says
Coral, absolutely. I love the shades for lips and the blush, and some eyeshadows are screaming at me! I don’t like pink too much and plum isn’t a very wearable colour for me, so that’s why I went for Coral! And anyway, I’m a sucker for that tone…
