What was the last beauty product you tried because of a recommendation from a friend?
Mine is Topped With Brandy Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour by MAC. It’s a matte deep rose. My friend Jen texted me a pic of her wearing it yesterday (“It’s a nice neutral with a little oomph. I like it because it doesn’t dry my lips out.”), and it looked so pretty on her that I had to try it too!

Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer in Light Bronze and Butter Blush in Plum Rose. My fellow pale-skinned friends have been raving about them for ages. I finally ordered them on the last Target website sale, and I really like them both.

I have Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer on my shopping list! Kathleenlights on YouTube always raves about it, so I figured I’d give it a shot. I’m pale-skinned too and bronzers always look too orange or dark on me.
I thought it would be too orange on me when I swatched it, but it’s magic on the face.

Bought the gosh ultimate eye liner in black after a friend recommended it. On her it stays all day, and she even uses it on her entire lid with no issues. On me it ends up under the eye in hours.
I can’t think of the last time that happened! I’m usually the one handing out recommendations!
Actually it was the Chanel Neapolis palette (please tell me I’m not the only one who calls it Necropolis), and I got it because you, Miss Karen, and Christine both seemed to love it. It has been my most-used palette since getting it. So thank you! <3
Haha, Nicole, I’ve accidentally called it that a couple times! 🙈 That palette is SO GOOD. I’m really hoping Chanel does more versions of it with the same EXACT formula because it’s just so easy to use and it’s beautiful too!

You’re welcome. I’m tempted to do some layering with it! I know it kinda defeats the purpose of the matte finish but I think it might be pretty underneath a sparkly bronze or brown or even a gold gloss. 🙂

Kinda in the same boat as LindaLibraLoca. But a woman at my gym recommended It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+. Got a sample from Sephora and didn’t really like it all.
Most of my friends think my love of makeup, skincare and perfume is a waste of money.
Ya know, I tried that and it was SUPER shiny on me. Did that happen with you too?
Oily? Is oily the same as shiny? And it made my pores and lines look worse. Didn’t really like the way it felt on the skin. I tried it again on my arm when I zipped through Sephora today. I like it on my arm, but that’s about it.

Not recent but maybe 10+ years ago some people on a forum was splitting MAC pigments and I got on the bandwagon, too.

I feel like I’m the only one of my friends really into makeup. (In fact, I was low key made fun of for it last week which I’m still kind of simmering about, grrr). But a new friend of mine wears killer eyeliner and told me it was stila. So when ULTA had it on sale I picked up 2! I love it.
