er·rr·thing
/ˈerˌTHiNG/
pronoun
- all things; all the things of a group or class.
“he taught me errrthing I know”
synonyms: each item, each thing, errr single thing, the lot, the whole lot
antonyms: nuh’in - the current situation; life in general.
“how’s errrthing?”
At any given moment, chances are something’s rocking my boat, like a giant life-sized Ryan Gosling body pillow, Charlie the rainbow pegasus, vegan thumbprint oatmeal cookies, etc., etc.
You know how it goes. 🙂
Here are five of my current favorite errrthing products right now.
1. Kerastase Spray À Porter ($36 for a 150ml bottle)
This week, in a shock to everyone (including myself), I’ve actually had the motivation to, ya know, do something with my hair other than throw it into a bun and fugghetaboutit. So, out came the Kerastase Spray À Porter.
I hadn’t used it in a while and didn’t realize how low I was until I was halfway through styling my mop yesterday and heard the nozzle go pffffft.
WHAT WAS THAT!?
Good thing Karen from the past was forward-thinking enough to realize that current timeline Karen would get into this situation, and therefore stored a backup bottle in the hair products drawer.
Yeah, this stuff is the ISH. I know I’ve probably been gushing about it for a year, but it’s basically a styling spray that does a little bit of everything, and it does it all so well that you might not even need/want anything else.
It texturizes, volumizes, gives light hold (not too crunchy), enhances waves and lifts roots. You can even use it as a dry shampoo to absorb oil in a pinch.
I don’t even know why I keep trying other hair products with Kerastase Spray À Porter around.
Oh, wait! — I do know. It’s called short-term beauty memory, haha!
2. Cuisinart Smart Stick 2-Speed Hand Blender ($59.95)
GURL, you know my cooking usually falls somewhere in the spectrum between “questionably edible” and “downright gross,” but I’ve been trying to be better lately and cut down on processed foods, and eat more of the bountiful fruit of the loins of the earth…
My mom got me this Cuisinart Hand Blender for Christmas last year, and I kid you not, I use it almost every freaking day.
I use it to make smoothies, beat eggs, purée soup, do my hair…
NO! Not that last one. 🙂
I also have a regular blender, but I don’t like lugging it out, and then having to clean it up and put it away again.
I know, First World Kitchen Problems.
This hand blender, though, is so easy to store and clean, and it just works. I used it to make this Pink Power Detox Smoothie this morning, by the way, and it was BOMB.
I would’ve taken a picture of it but, as usual, I inhaled it too quickly, haha! (the smoothie, not the blender)
3. MAC Cream Colour Base in Hush ($21)
You know how you sometimes you squirrel away a product that you love in drawer, but then time passes and you not only forget that you love it, but that it even exists?
That’s what happened to this pan of MAC Cream Colour Base in Hush.
Try not to be hypnotized by the limited edition Pedro Lourenço packaging…because it’s also available in the permanent line.
Anyway, Hush. This pearly peach cream highlighter (the best one out there now!) is one of those treasures that you don’t remember how much you love until you find it after it goes missing.
You can wear it on bare skin, on top of foundation, and even on top of powder. Sometimes I use mine to blend out the edges of a transition shade on my eyes, and then I’ll pop a little in the inner corners for dat luminous look.
If glowing skin is your #1 priority, get thee in yo’ life, ASAP.
4. Cute Sonix iPhone cases (about $35 each at Nordstrom)
El Hub got me this one for Valentine’s Day, and it’s one of my favorite phone cases ever.
I thought it might be too slippery at first, since it’s very smooth and almost slick, but it’s not. It feels comfy in my paw, and it’s easy enough to grip (haven’t dropped it yet, knocks on wood).
I saw on the Nordstrom website the other day that Sonix also has one with a pineapple design.
YAAAASSSS!
Don’t ask me why, but I’ve been irrationally obsessed with pineapple prints lately. The obsession literally came out of nowhere, but now it’s here, so I’m rolling with it.
I think I’m gonna order this one today if I finish everything on my to-do list.
Shopping as motivation, my friend. Works every time. 🙂
5. Kate Spade Playa Flamingo Bustier One-Piece Swimsuit ($151)
FLAMINGOS. ON. A. SWIMSUIT.
Shout-out to reader Marisa for pointing out this Kate Spade Playa Flamingo Swimsuit, which clearly needs to find its way into my closet sooner than later.
Also, shout-out to Rachel R., who told me this hilarious flamingo story that literally cracked me up for 10 minutes!
Funny flamingo-related story: For 10 years, I lived in a little town closer to the Oregon Coast, and there was a housing development. This older couple put a couple plastic flamingos in their yard. The development council made them removed them. However, there was nothing in the charter about what color you could paint your house.
Yep! They painted their entire McMansion in bright flamingo pink, and put flamingo shaped lights and pictures in some of their windows. The council couldn’t do a damn thing about it, either. I didn’t know them personally, but those people were my heroes! That house was pink for 10 years. Last I was out that way, the house was still pink. 😀

I used to be all into pretty phone cases, but Little Bean already broke two of my phones by shattering them on the floor, so I decided to go for the baby-proof outdoor version.

I want one of those hand blenders! Have you ever tried to make mashed potatoes with it K? I wonder if it’s strong enough.

5 things, let me see if I can come up with that many…
1. Mac Satin Taupe! I can’t stop wearing it.
2. Clementines. I gave up sweets for Lent and probably after that too so I had to find some other snacks and clementines are just delicious!
3.The show “Fresh off the boat”. Just started watching it on Hulu and need to limit myself to one episode a day so I don’t watch the whole season in one day. Have you ever watched it?
4. Lilac ballerina flats. I have been obsessed with a thought of finding a pair. So far, unsuccessfully but I’d love to have a pair for spring!
5. I can’t really think of number 5 so I am going to go with sheer peach lipsticks!
P.S.
That flamingo suit would look cute on you! Plus it’s Kate Spade!
Rachel R. says
I wasn’t expecting my flamingo story to make it into a post, but I’m glad you enjoyed it. That flamingo suit is too cute. If I were thin, I’d grab that in a heart beat.
Hmmm…5 favorite Errrthing (giggle) Products
1. Hot water dispenser. I love that I don’t have to boil a whole pot of water if I just want a cup of tea, or if I need a small amount for a recipe.
2. Fortune Cookie Soap’s shampoo bar: After 18 years of battling with my youngest about washing his hair (he hates feeling anything wet or gooey on his head or face), we’ve finally found something he’ll use. His Asperger’s comes with sensory issues, and he has allergies to artificial scents. Creamy, cotton candy scented shampoo bars apparently were the secret all along.
3) Zpalettes, so I don’t have to dig through all my singles. Plus, they save me so much space.
4) Torrid Lips & Polka Dot Hi-Lo Tank. I had to get it. Too cute! http://www.torrid.com/torrid/Tops/Tanks/Lips+amp+Polka+Dot+Hi-Lo+Tank-10248709.jsp
5) Wedge heels: I was rear-ended by a huge pickup/trailer combo a couple years ago, and my back and hips are still recovering. I can manage higher wedge heels this year, and they’re much easier on my back/hips than regular heels.
Julie says

On Monday night when I was feeling icky from Aunt Flo’s visit, I stopped by Walgreens to pick up ice cream and look at pretty makeup things. There was a new L’Oreal display for the celebrity lipstick collection, but with different shades of red (similar to the nude lipstick collection they did).
I ended up with Freida Pinto’s red, which is actually more fuchsia.
Karen. It’s the best lipstick ever. I wore it two days in a row and almost a third and I’m regretting not wearing it today. It’s a fuchsia-red with a matte finish that didn’t make my lips dry or peel and left the prettiest stain with no ring-around-the-lips. It would be so pretty on you, too.
So that’s number 1.
#2 the brownie I’m currently eating that my co-worker gave to me since we just had a crazy afternoon.
#3 Mad Men is coming back on Sunday, so I’m excited and sad there’s only 7 episodes left
#4 I bought a really pretty purple lace cocktail dress and pearly gold duo-tone shoes to wear to a wedding later this month!

Ooo this is a good one for a Friday afternoon! 🙂 Those hand blenders are the sh*t, so handy!
1) Aveda Smooth Infusion Style Prep – my hair has been going naturally curly the last few years, but still blows out nicely as long I use this along with Aveda’s Phomollient.
2) Speaking of blowouts, I just today ordered the Elchim 2001 hair dryer (finally). I paid for it by selling my old iPhone to Gazelle, and they give 5% more if you opt for Amazon money instead of a check! 🙂 Can’t wait for it to arrive!
3) Asparagus – gonna roast a ton of it in the oven for Easter dinner. Yummm!
4) Justified – been watching it on Amazon Prime. Timothy Olyphant is damn sexy.
5) Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Serum – this has really been helping. I’ve been using it for about two months now, and while I’m still naturally pinky-red (don’t think that will ever change!), the texture of my skin is so much better and my dry flaky spots are almost all gone.
Have a wonderful weekend!

I’m loving the idea of that hand mixer….I too hate lugging out my blender and therefore don’t use it. How does that MAC Hush cream base compare to Becca highlighter in Opal? They look similar. That is my #1 current obsession. I wear it ery (yes ery) day!
#2 is Empire. That damn Cookie just doesn’t know WHAT to say out her mouth!
#3 NARS Audacious in Annabelle. My new favorite red.
#4 My new Eileen Fisher slouchy knit pants. I bought two pairs and that’s all I want to wear.
#5 My new Kelsi Dagger bucket bag. Tried to get the Manseur Gavriel version, but its always sold out. Kelsi Dagger’s version is slightly smaller, but almost identical and a lot cheaper!

5 things!
-Sunday Riley Good Genes treatment – #1 skincare holy grail, this is the only product I think I’ve ever granted HG status. I’ll never go without it!
-Cream & oil based cleansers (doesn’t really matter which one, for cream cleansers I like Sunday Riley, Antipodes, and Clarins has a nice oil based one). Creams are the best for the morning face cleanse & oil based just takes off every stitch of makeup! Plus, the Sunday Riley cream cleanser + Good Genes treatment makes for an amazing face mask!
-Make Up For Ever HD blush, I own several but can’t get enough of them. Pigmented, blendable, gorgeous.
-Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black perfume, I could go without owning any others!
-YSL Gloss Volupté, I have Corail Trapèze and it’s just the perfect, everyday go-to, non-sticky gloss. Love!

1. Belle Butters x LoveBrownSugar body butter. This smells so good and I managed to pick up this limited edition item
2. Marc Jacobs LoveMarc Matte Lip Gel in Gossip
3. L’Oreal Infalliable Lip Color in Beyonce’s Red: got this a few years ago, as I’m a Beyonce fan. Tried it on and found it was too bold for my best friend’s wedding. Years later, tried it again and love it. I’m pale and it doesn’t make me look washed out but compliments my skintone.
4. Chasing Shadows: my new crime drama TV love. Imported from Britain and now on CBC. Too bad it’s only a mini-series. I’d be so happy if they continued it.
5. West Coast Energy drink. Tastes delicious, local/from Canada, and inexpensive.
