Fellow surfer girls and beach bums, put down your board wax and sit your bikini-clad booty down on the sand because the MAC To the Beach collection (available May 27) is going to knock you out of your flip-flops.
This summer release features over 30 (!) pieces for lips, eyes, face, nails and body in beach-inspired colors.
For more on MAC to The Beach…
I haven’t been this stoked about a MAC summer collection since Neo Sci Fi, and I can’t wait to dive into To the Beach’s green, coral and pink color palette. And isn’t the limited-edition packaging cute, too? May can’t get here fast enough…

All I see on the beauty interwebs is MAC lately. I’m kind of sick it, really! Besides the uber cute packaging for the summer collection, MAC bores me to tears. Is it me or is MAC throwing new collections at us every month? It’s too much too soon. I feel overwhelmed & unexcited now!
lexi says
No, I hear ya – that’s my biggest gripe with MAC – too many collections at once. I like options and all but they really go overboard at times!
Jamie says
As a TRUE beach girl, everyone knows that anyone that actually surf would never wear makeup to the beach and risk looking like a tool. BUT I am a true product junky at heart and this packaging does make me melt. The ES colors don’t look like anything new but the highlight powder and lustre drops have my eye. Wonder if I could even thin out the lustre drops and use them with my airbrush system…hmmm def possibilities here. Keep me posted if you test run any of these 🙂
Oh and on a side note – if nothing else this collection reminds me that summer WILL come despite record breaking snows here!
Toni says
I agree with Ashley about too many collections coming out from MAC. It is overwhelming and doesn’t make the collections special. That being said, I am definitely getting the seahorse highlight powder and possibly the eye kohls and lip pencils, since I love all things with a beach/ocean theme. I’d have to see the eye shadows in person, because lately, I have been getting MAC shadows that are hit or miss for texture, pigmentation, and blendablility. I’m loving my Chanel eye shadow singles a lot more than MAC right now. Thanks for sharing with us!
yvette says
i agree – too many collections from mac. everyone loves variety, but you need to foster some intrigue from fans too…
Devs says
I am so excited for this collection! I only really buy from collections that I really love, and I have a feeling that this is going to one of them. I will probably have to look at the eyeshadows in person, but I am liking the highlight powder and the blue eye kohl. And the packaging is adorable!
Sylvie says
I can’t believe how unoriginal they’re getting. There are so many repromotes! It’s just the same stuff but in different packaging!
Mrs. Kinne says
I am loving the packaging on the eye kohls and the lip pencils! I might pick up the Eye Kohl in Rosemary & Thyme just to have that cute coral design in my make-up bag.

Frances says
Coral is having a big moment right now. Too bad I look horrible in orange tones. I like the blushes and the lip glasses from this collection. I also like the idea of layering the brigher eyeliners over black or brown eyeliner.
HC says
SWEET!! I’m excited you have bigger pictures! I saw all these teenytiny ones before. YAY
HC says
And I’m super excited for the cream bronzers!!
HC says
AND that high-lite powder is SO pretty. I wonder if the design will swirl away after a few uses (like the Lillyland one…)
lexi says
Is it sad that the only reason why I want that High Light powder is because of my LOVE for Sea Horses?
Meg says
The packaging is really calling me on this one! I will probably grab a lipstick and blush. I also love the Scorcher nailpolish but will probably pass on it. I don’t think the size/quality of MAC polishes are really worth the price, for me.
All of the products look great though. I will probably need to take cash only so I don’t go crazy over the packaging 😛

I used to be a coral reef biologist so this packaging calls my name. I like the sound of the eye kohl colors but will need to swatch them. I think the pink lipstick could be a great buy. I’m also intrigued by the brushes, particularly the 130, but am leary of special edition brushes as they tend to be lower quality. The brushes in the picture aren’t stamped SE. Do you know if these are new to the permanent line?
Aly says
I am definitely grabbing the high-light powder! So cute!
Emma says
o my god this is GORGEOUS!! i am def getting the highlighting powder!!!
Tiffany says
oh my god I want everything!!! The highlight powder and cream bronzers are especially calling out to me…
gio says
The packaging is very pretty but I’m tired of the endless collections full of repromotes and dupable shades that aren’t worth their price tag imo.

Hella cute packaging and yes I see some stuff I like!
I agree with other people’s comments that they are just coming out with way too many collections. I just ordered Spring Forecast last week and already I want the new Gaga lipstick. I wish they would cut it down to maybe 12 a year.

Oh dear, I love the packaging! I always thought the classic black/silver packaging was too boring and a bit gloomy but I love the orange/green combo!
Shannon says
omg HEART! I’m not really a MAC girl, but I’m loooving this collection. Makes me wish I was still near a MAC counter!
Sheila says
I think the 2nd brush is supposed to be the 131 brush, it came out with Colour Craft last summer and it has 131 etched into it XD
There can’t possibly be two 130 brushes… can there? LOL

Oh shucks, I thought that the orange pencil was for the eye. I love me some orange, red, and yellow on my lids, they really make green eyes pop.
Although generally I don’t buy from many of the collections as they do seem to be “recycled” or just so similar to other products, this one is fairly whimsical and fun. I dig the highlight powder design.

Oh my GOD, Mac is overwhelming me. What, do they have like 6 new collections or something?! There’s that Love Affair one, the Lady Gaga/Cindy Lauper Viva Glam, Color Forcast, this beach one, holy jesus! I set out to buy that ombre blush, but then I saw the new Viva Glams, and gosh I don’t want to even buy it anymore. Their cranking out new collections left and right like the Dougar family (hahha, 19 kids and counting) I love this beach collection, but I don’t want to blow my makeup money stash (I have a little I save each month so I don’t go overboard when I am just bored or something) on something and then have something I like MORE come out the next week.

Oh yes I’m totally excited about this one! I love the LE packaging and the bright, fun colours! Though Neo Sci Fi will remain one of my most beloved collections ever…I think that was the collection I hauled most. Maybe with this one things will change 😀 I already have my eye on a gloss or two, a liner, the gorgeous powder, lustre drops and a blush. Ooops!

Hey =]. I’m new to MAC, and I was wondering? What do lustre drops do? Are they multi purpose?
marisol says
I imagine they work as a liquid highlight? i am curious as well 🙂

Kristen says
Hi Roseline,
Lustre Drops are a liquid highlighter – a shimmery, metallic formula that can be used basically anywhere on the body for a soft, pretty glow. It looks amazing on cheekbones and under eyebrows.

Karen, I love all the eye colors that Mac has out now. The eye liners are great but still like the liquid eyeshadow better. I like the blushes they are really cool. Would love to have some. Have a good one.

I’m so excited about this. I just got an invite to the release party, and I’m trying to figure out what I want. I’m a sucker for the eye kohls, the bronze body oil is eye catching and possibly the lipstick in Funbathing. I love the bag, but don’t think I could justify $50+ for a basic bag.
