You know what? I like my job. The last thing I want to do is disappoint my boss (you may have heard of him — Tabs the cat, world-renowned kitty supermodel), but he’s going to be woefully disappointed when he finds out that, if I were given the chance to be a queen supreme, as in the name of the new MAC Girls Palette, Qween Supreme (yes, it’s spelled that way), but the job required me to wear a crown, I would not be able to rock that thing 24/7.
Sorry, Tabs!
I mean, I’d wear it to take pics for the ‘gram, especially if I had a collection of bejeweled sparkly crowns at my disposal, but I wouldn’t wear it if I were just chillin’ in the palace and wanted to Netflix and chill at home.
Sorry, buddy! I know that you like to think of your assistant as more fabulous than that, but, sadly, I’m not. 🙁
Qween Supreme is still quite new, and if you ask about it at nearby MAC counter, they might not even have it in yet (for sure, it’s online).
It’s one of nine eye palettes in the MAC Girls collection. Some are more adventurous than others (some are mostly neutrals). Qween Supreme just happens to be the metallic palette, and it’s also one of the newest ones!
It has one gorgeous beige powder highlighter and eight foiled powder eyeshadows, and “foiled” just implies that they’re super shiny. They’re shiny when you apply them with a dry brush, and even shinier (like actual foil or chrome) when you apply them with a damp brush.
The highlighters are among my favorite things about the MAC Girls palettes because they’re similar to the powders in the Hyper Real Glow Palettes, which I love. Just put a bit on your upper cheekbones, and BAM! — so much glow.
Anyway, the eyeshadows shine like gold, bronze, silver and pewter jewelry, and you don’t need to use a lot because they’re hella shiny.
If this were a different time in my life, and there was a 99% chance I’d be wearing booty shorts and dancing in go-go boots on a bar on a Friday night, sure, I’d wear Qween in a heartbeat from lash line to brow bone with the craziest Snuffleupagus falsies I could find. The metallic shadows are VERY dramatic, so if you want people to notice your eye makeup before anything else, Qween is supremely good for that.
But you can tone this down, too, and wear it out to a fancy dinner on a Friday night. I’d do one or two colors on my lids (but not in the crease, though, ’cause then it would be FINE LINES CITY), bronzer or a matte brown in the crease, and load up on the black liner.
I’d much rather wear this one than the other new MAC Girls palette I’ve tried, Risk Taker, which is much messier. This one is way less messy.
As for wear time, I wear these shadows on top of MAC 24-Hour Prep+Prime Eye Primer, and they don’t move for at least eight hours.
Going to a Cher concert? Wear this palette. Headed to ’80s drag queen karaoke? Wear this palette. Dancing the night away in a cage? WEAR THIS PALETTE. 🙂

Beautiful eye look, Karen! If I didn’t already have similar colors in a palette, I’d be all over this!
Karen says
Thanks, Kelly! Next time you’re a MAC you might want to swatch it just for fun. It’s really pretty in person.
How’s your week going so far?
Kelly says
So far so good. Terrible rainy commute today but we need the rain so I’ll deal with it (begrudgingly.)
Karen says
It hasn’t started pouring up here yet, just a light drizzle so far. I’m hoping it’ll be clear soon because I just ordered some new running shoes and I want to start running outside again!
Kelly says
I prefer running outside as well—as long as it’s not too cold, not too windy and not too hot. I used to run on a treadmill when my kids were little so as not to leave them unattended. I hated the treadmill then and still don’t like it very much. Enjoy the new kicks!
Karen says
Haha! Me too. The conditions have to be perfect otherwise I’m miserable. And forget about running in the rain! I can’t do wet socks. I have a treadmill in my house and have run on it for years but want to start running outside again for a change of pace.
Do you still run?

So glad this one performs better than the last one you showed!! ??
Karen says
Me too! 🙂 I have another MAC review coming up soon on some LE eyeshadow singles in neutral colors that go perfectly with this palette, just in case you’re interested.
I hope you’re having a nice Tuesday so far. I’m about to put the baby down for a nap so I can work like crazy for two hours! How’s your day been? Good I hope!
Michelle says
Yay for MAC reviews!! I think in the past 5 years or so MAC is seriously underrated… I feel like they are usually way ahead of all of the trends and their permanent line is just amazing! Thank you for all the reviews!!
Tuesday went by way too fast over here!! Funny enough it’s Wednesday now and I’m trying to get my little one down… haha! I hope your Wednesday is turning out great!!

SOLD! Hahaha. I love this palette. The look you did is so pretty (especially with that lip colour!).
Karen says
LOL, Ash! I have a friend going to a Cher concert in a couple months and plan to recommend this one to her. 🙂 It would be especially appropriate applied with a wet brush. SO SHINY!
BTW, the lip is Apricot Gold lipsticks from the MAC Padma collection.
