Bust out your umbrella-ella-ella, because it’s raining more Rihanna-themed makeup this fall over at MAC.

The songstress and MAC take the stage later this month for an encore to her RiRi Hearts MAC summer collection with the new 20-piece RiRi Hearts MAC fall collection for eyes, cheeks and lips.

You known I love me my warm neutrals, so of course, the Her Cocoa Eye Shadow X 4 ($44 US, $52.50 CDN) caught my eye first. :D

  • Includes four powder shadows — a pearly, pinkish beige; a golden brown with a slight sheen; a sheer, glittery gold and a shimmery, bronzed brown with gold glitter
  • Should look lovely with warmer browns like Soft Brown, Saddle and Brown Script
  • The pinkish beige and golden brown (this one looks a little like Soba) feel soft to the touch and blend easily
  • The glittery gold suffers from quite a bit of fallout (don’t forget to tap off your brush!)
  • As for the darkest brown shade (reminds me of Mulch), it leaves a little fallout behind, and I kinda want it to appear darker on my NC 42 skin (I ended up applying it with a wet brush to ramp up the pigment)
  • NC42 skin tones and darker may have to apply these shadows wet to really get them to pop, but they should appear nice and dramatic on skin tones lighter than that.

Honestly, I had high hopes with this collection. I love the Diamonds cream blush / highligter the most in this collection. I wish they had included the Riri WOO lipstick too.. Will have to work with the lip pencils :)

This quad is gorgeous and you know how much I love my neutrals! And the packaging is stunning.

On a side note, have you made your hair appt yet? I’m going tomorrow!

      Hey girl!

Nope. :( I was supposed to call today, but have been swept up in RiRi madness, LOL! What are you going to do with your hair?

      • Agata says:

First of all, you’re doing a fantastic job with those RiRi reviews! You’re always so creative!

As far as my hair, just the usual blonde highlights and I think I will cut my hangs shorter (but still off to the side, not all over my forehead).

  7. Danielle says:

I didn’t think I was going to love anything from this collection, but so far a few things look great! I would probably get a lot of use from this quad.

Thank you for your honest opinion on this Karen. This NC45 gal doesn’t like to have to put in “work” for it to translate on my skintone. It looks stunning on you though. :)

  9. hanna says:

Not really feeling the packaging on this collection.

Probably too light for my complexion, NC50. Too bad cause I love warm gold/bronze palettes.

From the pic you can see there are 4 lipsticks launching with this fall collection, one being RiRi Woo in limited packaging. As for the Her Cocoa quad, it’ll work with any skin tone, you just have to know how to wear it. Primer, the right brushes to pack on color and pair it with other matte shades that you have. There’s more ways to wear eye shadow than you know. Think outside the box and not the usual: light color on the lid, medium color in the crease, dark color on the outer corner and lightest on the brow bone. Play with texture, mix it up, change the placement and create something new for you. If you cant get to your MAC store I suggest calling and paying by phone. I can guarantee those lipsticks will be gone by Saturday and some on launch day! :)
