I was looking through those pics of cherry blossom trees from my walk around the neighborhood last weekend, and this one down below, with the branches reaching for the sky, stopped me in my tracks.
Hmm… pink and blue. How very MAC Chenman!
So here’s my second take on a look inspired by that release. This time, I also incorporated a couple of my tried-and-true MAC faves — Feline Eye Kohl (which I love because it doesn’t turn blue on my skin!) and Dollymix blush.
Wearing just the eyeshadows alone, I thought my eyes in this look were subtler than they were in last week’s eye look, so I added swishes of black liner on my upper and lower water lines to amp things up.
- MAC Chenman Mineralize Eye Shadow in Superswseet (crease and lids)
- MAC Chenman Mineralize Eye Shadow in Love Cycle (upper lash lines)
- MAC Khohl Power Eye Pencil in Feline (upper and lower lash water lines; lower lash line)
- MAC Eye Shadow in Concrete (brows)
- MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash (upper and lower lashes)
Interestingly, the blue eye products in this collection, namely Mineralize Eyeshadow in Love Cycle and the Pigment in Naval Blue), display purple undertones on my skin (I’m an NC42). I don’t mind at all, but it might be something to consider if you were hoping for true blues here and have similar coloring.
Also, for what it’s worth, Force of Love Lipglass appears noticeably less pigmented on my lips than it does in the tube.
Still think it’s very pretty, though.
About that hoodie…
The teal one I wore in the Estèe Lauder review last week? Reader Kat had asked in the comments where I got it from.
Hi, Kat. It’s from a workout clothing line called Zella, and I picked up this one on sale online at Nordstrom. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it’s still available on the website, but they may carry it in the stores, if you happen to live near a Nordies.
I usually wear a size 2-4, but these are sized small, medium and large. Here I’m wearing it in medium, which is a little big for me, but I like that with this cut. It hugs my torso just enough while still giving me room to move.
Zella seems pretty cool. Kinda like Lululemon except more affordable. They do some interesting things with their workout wear, like the asymmetrical zipper here and the ruching on the sleeves.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
P.S. I hope you’re having a great Tuesday so far. I forgot to ask earlier, but have you been wearing any of the new MAC stuff lately?
