Great picks and explanations Karen!
I’d just like to add that the EcoTools blush brush (~$9) is a great, super-soft synthetic alternative as well. I’ve never noticed a difference between the eveness of application or blending ability between it and an animal-hair brush. I also love love love the EcoTools Brow Grooming Kit (~$10) and the little angled eyebrow brush and spoolie that come with it (so much, that I have two sets!) and the tweezers are actually quite nice too .

Oh cool. Thanks for the alternative, Catherine!
I hope you’re feeling better today!

I totally second the EcoTools. I recently bought new brushes since several heads were coming off my old ones. I didn’t even think of it as an upgrade since I was buying them at Shopko and Walgreens. But WOW, my make-up looks so much better with those brushes and tools! Unless my make-up or application techniques magically changed overnight it’s the brushes. If only I had bought new before my old ones completely bit the dust…

Oh i definitely need to buy a blush brush- I’m thinking either this one or the 168…
Why can’t we have EcoTools & Sonia in my country..

This one rocks! It’s wide enough to use double as a powder or bronzer brush, which I love!

Thank you for the list … at the moment, I do need a better blush brush. Mine is okay …. but im sure there is something better out there! 🙂
I do love my SK bent eyeliner brush … and if I were to choose one eyeshadow brush to use – I would probably pick the MAC 224 – I can actually create an eye look using just that one brush!

Hi Nina,
I really like MAC’s. It’s pricey, but it’ll last forever!

This was great, Karen! Oddly enough, I was just saying on Monday that I needed to get a clue about make-up brushes. Very helpful, as always! 🙂

That brush is the BOMB.COM, for reals. Have you tried it with MAC Fluidline? It’s like a mini miracle. 😀
