Any woman who can fight crime in a bustier, booty shorts and knee-high red boots totally deserves to be honored with a makeup collection.
Yes, I’m talking about the new MAC Wonder Woman collection! 🙂 Buzz has been building for a while…and it’s only getting louder every minute.
The following pics, even if they turn out to be authentic, are fairly low res. The color of everything from the packaging to the products themselves will probably differ significantly from what we’re seeing here, but still — it’s food for thought until we actually see more.

By the look of these promo pics, fearless reader, it looks like MAC is taking a vintage comic book approach to the packaging design, and I’m really feeling the red, gold and blue (no indestructible bracelets, though, boo!).
Some are calling it tacky, and I guess that depends on your outlook. I get bored easily, and I find MAC’s willingness to try things like this refreshingly interesting.

It brings back memories…
I used to watch WW work her Amazonian wiles every day in the Super Friends cartoon, and when the neighborhood kids would gather after school, all the girls would lobby to play Wonder Woman in our pretend version of The Justice League, LOL!
Whoever won got to wear a chunky, faux gold bracelet that one of the girls “borrowed” from her mom. I think there was a time when we had a rope, too (our Lasso of Truth), until one of the dads found out and took it away (killjoy). And we also tried unsuccessfully to secure a tiara and hot pants.
We didn’t only like how WW accessorized. We also loved how she always kicked @ss. Smart, strong and dressed to thrill.

I plan to relive my childhood comic book dreams with this release. Who’s with me? There’s plenty of room in my invisible jet. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. To see A LOT more on the collection, check out Are You a MAC Wonder Woman?
Katie says
I am SO excited for this. The MAC store near me is having a big event for this but I won’t be in town:(
I can’t wait to see swatches of the lip products!
dani@callitbeauty says
i personally don’t like the packaging but i’ll reserve judgement until i see swatches. i’m really interested in the blushes, though!
Sarahc says
Oh my god Wonder Woman!? Are you kidding? Yay for comics and yay for MAC for being so creative! I’m happy they chose to go with the retro style and not the new style.
ki says
I can;t decide if it’s cute or tacky… but I’m waiting for swatches!
Rads says
Same here..agree with Ki..cannot decide between cute or tacky….
snoopysteph says
I’m totally unfamiliar with Wonder Woman so I’ll probably pass on this collection, just as I did with Venomous Villains. Now if MAC has a Peanuts themed release…:D
Salvinia says
The packaging is so tacky it’s cool, and I love the look of those eyeshadow palettes!
Tiffany says
^ I agree! the packaging looks kinda cheap, but it’s also retro and true to the theme. I def want the MSFs and a blush duo or two!
Suzanne says
I am all over this like a bad rash.
mint says
I actually find this range’s packaging to look pretty tacky =/ what a big disappointment from the last range.
BlovetBeauty says
tats super cute! omg, gonna grab some items from this line once it’s launched here!@
Constanze says
Yeah, Wonder Woman! Whenever I hear that name Lynda Carter pops into my head with this helmet-like hair 😉
Definitely love the packaging of this collection, but sadly don’t like the selection of the colours…
DonnaN says
While I’m a bit disappointed with the packaging (looks like Dollar Store makeup, it’s never really been about that for me…..after all, I don’t wear the packaging, I wear the product!!
I’m not going HOG WILD with this one, but I’m getting a few things I think are WW-worthy!!!
Stephanie says
I don’t like the packaging.. it looks very childish and cheap. But I think I’m gonna go check out the skinfinishes when it’s out.
Kim says
So. With. You. I already have visions of gifting these to my friend who is a WW freak. She’s not much into makeup, but that won’t matter! 🙂 I think I still have a crush on Lyle Wagonner and that twinkle from his teeth in the opening credits.
gio says
I’m disappointed with the packaging, it looks cheap and tacky. It fits the theme well but I expected something better tbh. Can’t wait to see swatches though.
Amber says
I still miss my Wonder Woman bathing suit. Pretty sure I would buy another. 🙂
I’m not loving the packaging and the colors don’t thrill me, but I do love WW, so we’ll see…
Nina says
id have wanted more wonderwoman faces on the packaging but this isnt bad at all.
im bummed that the quads are so reminiscent of other quads that have come out before (hello, tone grey) … but the MSFs and the blushes are interesting!
Aracely says
Karen, I am with you. I am going to purchase so many of these items. I am a big fan of Wonder Woman. I even have some old comics of WW
Courtney says
I’m so excited I could pee myself.
My fiancé and I are having a super-hero themed engagement party, so I’m all over this like white on rice. I’ll be in Vegas on a school trip when this launches, but maybe I’ll sneak off to buy a few things. But maybe the boy will have stuff waiting for me when I get home 🙂
Mel says
This is gonna look fantastic with my Wonder Woman Costume! 🙂
April Rose says
Thanks so much for mentioning the floods. Our Television, Facebook, Twitter and Newspapers are inundated with coverage of the floods and we are only just seeing the extent of the devastating damage. Families have lost every thing and people are stranded in their homes with no fresh food, no water and no power.
If you aren’t happy with the WW range then perhaps you could put that money towards helping out an Australian family!
Sarah says
Hi April,
I feel horrible for the people of Brisbane; I’ll happily donate….especially since I live right in Taringa for six months…

Princesa Livia says
I really can’t wait to see this collection. The packaging looks so cool and retro! 🙂 x
amy says
The packaging is true to the theme of Wonderwoman, though I do think the logo is a bit busy and distracting with both the Wonderman logo and MAC logo combined. I do really like the sound of the MSF and the blushes though.
Paintthetownscarlet.wordpress.com says
This make-up is incredible. MAC always come up with cool, retro themes – that’s why I love them!
Gigi says
I love it! ALL OF IT!
I’m going to buy most of the pieces.
Taffy says
Wonder Woman is one of my favourite things in the pop culture world and I’m going to be buying more than one item from this collection (especially the nail polish) but I would have preferred if the packaging was less retro. That particular logo is from the 80’s and isn’t used anymore so I guess that helps it to look a little dated 🙂 But that being said, the retooled WW comic with the new costume is awful 🙁
Lisha says
My very first make-up set was a Wonder Women one from the 80’s, so this definitely a nostalgia thing for me!

there must have been a reason i was saving my pocket change!! i am going this weekend to look at these items! hope you have a great weekend karen! 🙂
Karen says
Hey Kana,
The release don’t arrive until February. You have a little more time to save up. 🙂
Katie Coleman says
Definitely gonna snatch up the Valiant Quad and the Mighty Aphrodite Blush duo… I may peek at the MSF’s and see if they’re anything spectacular for $35, but I’ll probably end up passing on them because of the price.
I’m staying away from the lip glosses because they are absolutely ENORMOUS!! and I think I would have nowhere to put them =0(
Amy says
I AM CRAZY EXCITED FOR THIS!!! YAAAAAY!!!!
Emma says
I love the look of the blushes (and are they bronzers?) as well as the red lippie and gloss. I will start saving my pennies for Feb and hope that those colours stay true to what’s shown above.
Emma says
Discovered that the red lippie is Russian Red from the permanent collection so if the packaging puts you off but you like the colour then there is an alternative.
LL says
OMG! I loved watching this back in the 80’s.
When is this coming out?
LL says
Neverrmind just read your comment above. 😛
Rachael says
As much as I dislike the association with DC Comic, myself being a HUGE Marvel Comic fan, I will admit that they did pick a strong woman to front it.
Stan Lee, if you’re reading this, make a collection with Ororo, Emma, and Jean please!!!!
amy says
I really think I gold foil nailpolish will be perfect for this collection because it would emulate the gold cuffs she wears.
Tanya says
im so over mac coming out with a new collection every 5 minutes. SO SICK. this packaging looks like something i would pick up at claires or icing. I’LL PASS
HanaBerlin says
I was just thnking that!!!
