I’m a strong advocate for trying new makeup trends, but I totally get that sometimes, despite how much fun it can be to start piling on the lip and eye makeup this time of year (says the girl who buys bananas wearing silver and black winged eyeshadow), it can also be easy (at least for me) to go overboard.
I may leave the house feeling like I just stepped off the pages of Vogue, but then I catch my reflection in a mirrored surface by the bags of salad at Safeway and think, hawt damn! — that’s a lotta look for groceries.
That’s why, to protect myself from…myself, I try to keep my purses and bags fully stocked with my-lips-but-better products like the MAC Plushglass glosses.
Last month I was all about Big Baby. This month, I’m feeling much more Fulfilled, as in MAC Plushglass in Fulfilled ($19.50).
By swapping this creamy pinkish peach for the rich reds, berries and burgundy lip colors I regularly reach for in fall, I feel much more appropriately made up for everyday tasks.
Unlike Big Baby, Fulfilled doesn’t showcase any pearl or shimmer. Instead, it gets the job done with a creamy finish and a soft kiss of pinkish peach color. And while I love the way it quietly complements pretty much any bold look, it’s like Buzz Lightyear with brown, bronze and plum smokey eyes (taking them to infinity…and beyond!).
Another reason to love Fulfilled and the other MAC Plushglasses? — fabulous fade-ability. They fade without leaving a funky white line of gloss on my lips and in the corners.
Fulfilled is also a great gloss to have around for 5-minute makeup looks, when all you want is a semblance of lip color so you can grab your shoes and bolt out the door.
Sometimes I’ll blank out my lips first with concealer and pat Fulfilled down with my fingers to spread it around; other times, when I want more color, I’ll wear it with MAC Cremestick Liner in Sublime Culture).
No matter how I wear it, I always feel Fulfilled when I wear this Plushglass. 🙂
Coach Taylor and an epic egg sandwich!
You ever watch so much of a TV show that it starts to infiltrate your dreams?
Well, after about 20 episodes in three days, that’s where I am now with Friday Night Lights. I even had a dream last night in which Coach Taylor was yelling at me to get my sh*t together…
Coach obviously overlooked the epic egg sandwich I made for lunch yesterday. Seriously, not to toot my own horn or anything because I’m far, far from a gourmet chef, but it was so good that I almost cried.
I chopped and added a clove of garlic to a squeeze of lemon and some mayo, and then spread that across a couple slices of olive Pugliese bread from Trader Joes. Then I layered hard boiled eggs, tomatoes and chopped chives on top.
NOM! 🙂
Fo’ reals, nom.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I love Fulfilled plushglass. You look gorgeous in these pics. What other makeup are you wearing? Love the whole look!
Karen says
Hi Deb,
Funny you should ask, but I just wrote a tutorial for this look! I’ll have the full breakdown tomorrow. 🙂
Devi says
Yay!
Erica Falco says
I personally don’t think you ever overboard with your makeup! It always looks very clean and effortless 🙂
Karen says
Hey Erica,
You’re so sweet! I gotta say…sometimes the experiments turn out looking like a hot mess! That’s what makes makeup fun, though. You can always wash it off.
Have you tried the MAC Plushglasses before? I love them to bits.
Chelsea says
Your eyes look great too!
Fieran says
You look amazing Karen! I still haven’t tried a Plushglass before but I hope to someday.
What face combo are you using? Your skin looks so good.
Katie says
It’s so sheer though! I hate spending so much money on pale lipglosses, because like yours, my lips are quite pigmented, and paler colors do not show up at all. I appreciate that the color is pretty, but I’d hesitate on spending that much money on a color that’s barely distinguishable from my bare lips + a smear of Vaseline.
Kiss & Make-up says
This color is just perfect for me. Adds a little glam but is super subtle. That’s how I like it.
Sunny @ Mostly Sunny says
Haha, I get you! Sometimes I’m just fooling around with makeup at home, and the boyfriend comes back and announces we have to go to the supermarket. Well, if you don’t mind that entire street staring at me…
At the moment my go-to MLBB shade is Chanel Troublant. It’s something that’s been sitting in my purse ever since it joined my collection!
J says
Yep, this is one of my staples, especially in the summertime! It the perfect slight hint of color for a fresh face.
Ankita@corallista says
I don’t have much color in my lips naturally so I need a lip product with some more pigment to look normal. This would be too sheer and color less for me when worn alone but looks great to layer over lipsticks when you need some gloss without altering the shade of the underlying lipstick. Or I could wear it with Soar or Spice lip pencil for a chic, glossy neutral lip!
Nina says
Sooo pretty!
Ocia says
Love it!
BethC says
Fulfilled has been my go-to lip gloss for the better part of 8 years. Whether I pair it with a smoky eye or just need to look pretty and fresh but not overly made-up, Fulfilled does the job. I would be in SERIOUS mourning if MAC ever gets rid of it. The tint is perfect and, being a plushglass, it gives my lips nice definition without a liner or fuss. I find its peach-pink goodness goes with any palette.
